Your exposure to most of the aspects of the Egyptian culture as well is one of our aims. Our daily social program will guarantee you one of the best experiences of your life and so we welcome you warmly to join us.

Why Egypt? Egypt’s health system compiles some of the best physicians along with some of the best and oldest medical schools in the Middle East. Although the system lacks many factors, high number of patients make Egypt one of the best hosts accepting medical students to observe and indulge in clinical courses and case studies. Egypt has an ancient history and civilization stems from thousands of years built over rich historical eras. Lying between 2 seas makes Egypt unique for its variety of beaches, sea sports and beautiful sights of corals & aquatic life. Compelling traditions, many different cultures and an amazing atmosphere combined with an exciting nightlife and a variety of dinning choices means a visit to Egypt will easily become a lifetime experience.

Why Cairo? Kasr Al-Ainy is one of the top medical schools in Africa and the Middle East. It is situated in Cairo; the city at the bifurcation of the Delta and in the center of Egypt making the Capital an excellent destination for your visit. In Cairo you can browse through all the different historical eras of Egypt. The Egyptian museum, Islamic museum, Citadel of Salah El-deen, Pyramids of Giza (South of Cairo) are spots you should never miss. When it comes to religious history, Cairo is known as the City of the 1000 minaret and endorses El Azhar El Shareef. El Azhar El shereef is the main center of Islamic studies in the Middle East. Along with the Coptic Church; which was established since the Apostolic time and has been standing for about 2000 years, there are over a hundred ancient churches and monasteries. It provides peace to the mind, to the heart, and to the soul. The Religion Complex in ancient Cairo (Masr el Qadeema) contains seven ancient Churches; Saint George Church, the Hanging Church, the Coptic museum and Babylon Fort. The cosmopolitan city is known as the city that never sleeps. It is certainly the main destination for entertainment. Yet you get to experience simplicity of the Egyptians, with hundreds of CafĂŠs around each corner where people socialize and watch TV while playing some board games and enjoying every bit of it. All the good and bad things about Cairo ensure that it will be a very unique experience.

2nd Trip Either Luxor & Aswan Or Oasis & white dessert End of the Program, back in Cairo

Building on our extensive experience in hosting international students during the past 30 years, the Students’ Scientific Society - Summer School 2013 team is pleased to announce the SS’13 social program, which is designed to expose all applicants to the different aspects of the rich Egyptian culture. In addition to the exchange of cultures between the participants of the program. Through this program you should get ready to enjoy some of the most breathtaking sights you can ever witness, visit most of the attractions around Egypt and have the best experience of a life time.

This year, our social program will be split into 2 parts: 1 - Daily social nights + 2 weekend trips. 2 - Social program extension The advantage of having one full uninterrupted week of trips is that you will get to travel all around Egypt giving you the chance to see most of the country and much of it’s culture.

“Please refer to the program schedule” Daily social nights This part will be aimed at giving the students time to socialize. However, our program is not planned just to take you dinning in different restaurants, our expertise in the field means we have planned to promote social interactions and cultural exchange. You will be hearing some of the most fascinating stories about our rich Egyptian history. 16th of August

Social program includes visiting the Pyramids of Giza, to be exposed to the pharaoh’s era and the ancient Egyptian’s culture. Followed by a visit to the citadel of Salah el Deen, you will get to know all about the Ottoman empire of Egypt.

th Trip to Alexandria, the 10 of August pearl of Egypt on the north coast. Experience the beautiful weather, beaches and scenes. This visit will include visiting the Qaytbay Citadel and the Library of Alexandria.

Lying between the two gulfs of the Red Sea from the south, and Re the Mediterranean Sea to its north, the peninsula is not only a very stratedS ea gic geopolitical location, but is also the catalogue of the most beautiful scenes you can merit your eyes with. You should never miss going up 7,497 feet to reach the top of Mount Sinai and visit the Greek Orthodox Chapel build at the top of the mountain. Watch the sky, only to realize you are in one of the best spots of stargazing you can ever reach; in which You will never wait for more than 20 seconds to see the amazing view of meteor sailing across the sky. Stargazing usually ends by drifting into a peaceful sleep to be awaken by the moment everyone anticipates, sunrise. That is one view that if any person tries to describe, will do you no good, it is way prettier than any person can visualize. Between that and diving down many meters in the red sea to enjoy the relaxing colors of corals and discover numerous types of fish. A well-known spot that extends up to 130m deep is the Blue Hole, a few kilometers north of Dahab. This is what gives a trip to Sinai its special change of altitude. Yet, this amazing night you spent on top of the mountain is not all of it. A Bedouin night is one you would always enjoy in Sinai. Speeding between mountain in Jeep cars to reach a place usually on the foot of a mountain where Arab Bedouins built tents you stay in while delicious meals get prepared, or you could obey the rush in you and dance to the collection of music they play. In addition to a collection of sea sports you can enjoy along with different clubs that are open all night, so if you don’t see it already, what makes the value of a visit to Sinai is that it has everything needed to enjoy your time.

An 864.2 km journey is only worth it when the destination is Aswan. r& o x Interacting with the citizens of Aswan is like Lu noting you have experienced before. The Aswanians will turn out to be the kindest most friendly people you may ever meet. They always say: “it’s because, inside is white” pointing at their chests. The beautiful city that lies on the Nile river banks and north to the High Dam, is where you get to see the Botanical Garden, the Temple of Fiala and enjoy the hospitality of the Nubians where you get to see live crocodiles being kept as pets in their villas. Aswan bazars are some of the best to get some souvenirs to take back home. The journey then extends down 230 more kilometers to reach the breathtaking view of Abu Simbel Temple. After which you get to rest back in Luxor, where you stay in a relaxing hotel and enjoy swimming in the hot weather of the south. In Luxor you get to see many temples, including Hatshepsut temple, Karnak temple, Luxor temple and the tombs of the ancient Pharaohs. There is much more to Luxor that you can visit, depending on your taste for enjoying the trip.

Oasis & The White Desert No matter how much science may reveal, "the Desert" will remain in most peoples' minds a place of accumulated sands, unsolved mysteries and eternal legends, all camouflaged beneath a haze of mirage. During the Safari, you can piece together some of that mirage and portray the unexpected appearance. Don’t miss the chance to visit the White Dessert, Baharya Oasis and go sand-boarding on the sand dunes after camping the night out in the desert. This usually turns into a spiritual, mind clearing, admiring experience.
