December 2022 Dear Parents & Guardians: Greetings from Saint Joseph Academy! I hope this finds you doing well and staying healthy during these final weeks of 2022. I continue to be impressed with the level of commitment, passion, and care shown for our school by all stakeholders – students, parents, alumni, and the entire Brownsville community. We make every effort to provide a well-rounded and balanced middle and high school experience rooted in the Marist Catholic tradition, college-preparatory academics, robust athletic/extracurricular programming, and Christian Service—all while remaining affordable and accessible during these unstable economic times. In establishing the tuition rate for next year, Saint Joseph Academy worked hard to keep tuition affordable and the increase below the inflation rate. For the 2023-2024 school year, the Saint Joseph Academy Board of Directors have approved a tuition rate of increase of $11,940.00 or $995.00 per month. This represents a 3.6% tuition increase, equaling $420 a year or $35 per month. Tuition for the 2023-2024 school year begins in May 2023. The Multi-Child Discount for each additional child enrolled at SJA will continue. The Multi-Child Discount is as follows: 1st child: $11,940 2nd child: $10,940 ($1,000 discount) 3rd child: $10,440 ($1,500 discount) Continuous Enrollment As we shared in a letter sent to all families earlier this month, SJA is transition to a Continuous Enrollment Program for the 2023-2024 school year. Each year moving forward your child will be automatically enrolled for the following school year— no new paperwork or forms needed! On February 15, 2023, the 2023-2024 Registration Fee ($600) will appear in your FACTS account and the amount will be automatically charged on your account’s scheduled March date. This non-refundable registration fee secures your child’s spot for next school year. Once enrolled, students are considered part of St. Joseph Academy until they graduate, with no further annual “re-enrollment” process involved.
Should you decide that your child will not be returning to St. Joseph Academy for the 2023-2024 school year, you must contact the principal’s office directly at 956-542-3581 x317 or mvaladez@sja.us by March 3, 2023 to avoid the registration fee being charged to your account. If withdrawn, your child’s spot is no longer guaranteed for the 2023-2024 school year. 1
