ACADEMICS

Physical Science

This course builds on the scientific processes and concepts, integrating the physical sciences to conduct scientific inquiry.

Applied Engineering 1 & 2 This class introduces STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) principles, concepts, and guidelines incorporating the understanding of materials and robotics as important tools to solving problems.

Environmental Systems* Students will conduct field and lab investigations over various topics: biotic and abiotic factors in habitats; ecosystems and biomes, and more!

Honors Environmental Systems*

This course includes all the major components taught in the Environmental Systems course. However, this course differs in that the student is expected to develop a higher level of critical thinking, problemsolving, and ability to apply concepts through a more rigorous faster-paced, and more in-depth curriculum.

*Fulfills one science credit required for high school graduation



RELIGON

At the 9th Grade retreat, students examined God’s call in their lives to be a faith-filled disciple. Marist students come to possess a strong sense of God and a personal relationship with Jesus, Mary and Saint Marcellin fostered through religion formation, a sacramental life, and prayer. Marist students examined how their personality, struggles, and successes affect their lives, especially their spirituality. Students were also encouraged to use prayer as a way of finding their call and to develop a prayer life. During their prayer fair, students were able to explore different ways in which they can develop a prayer life. Whether it be through yoga, Tai Chai, music, rosary, arts and crafts, journalism, or a guided meditation, each student was able to participate and explore one of many ways forms of prayer and connecting with God. ATHLETICS The 2020-2021 Lady Bloodhounds Track and Field Team completed their season with a District Championship title advancing to the TAPPS Academic All-State Track meet. Take a look at their season highlights below. Placed 2nd at Brownsville City Championships Lucia Gonzalez won the 100-meter dash and became the fastest girl in the city! Won a Team Championship at the Raymondville Meet 5 girls placed as 1st Team All-District Won 4 events that the District Meet 4 x 200 Relay, also placed 2nd at Regionals and 4th at State. The Discus throwers swept the District Meet, MJ Morales, Bethany Najera, and Alondra Loya placed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Maria Jose Morales won Gold in the Discus at the District, Regional and State meet where she was crowned State Champion! Won the TAPPS 5A District 5 Championship by over 50 points 6 members placed onto the TAPPS Academic All-State Team: Emma Gonzalez, Ale Gonzalez, Lucia Gonzalez, Elise Esparza, Mildred Verlage, and Maria Jose Morales.
