THOUGHTS ABOUT SMA I really enjoyed my time at SMA and made a lot of friends who I truly believe will be my friends forever. I will say that I have many amazing memories that I will never forget. I learned a lot of valuable skills that will help me in my future. I learned how to speak my mind during class and how to not be afraid to hold my opinions back. My teachers did a great job in helping me speak my mind in class, as well. Because the environment at SMA is so welcoming and the teachers clearly want to hear my opinions, I felt comfortable participating.

At St. Mary’s Academy, you learn how to make meaningful relationships that can last a lifetime. Whether your best friend is in the preschool or works in the Sanders House, at St. Mary’s Academy you strive to be your best self. Without SMA’s strong and meaningful community, I would not be the person I am today. THOUGHTS ABOUT SMA As a student of SMA for the past 10 years, I have so many positive memories that it is difficult to combine them in a few short sentences. However, a highlight that really stands out for me was my involvement in orchestra. I have really enjoyed the sense of community that provided many opportunities as well. Many of my favorite memories have come from involvement with music. A number of teachers really helped me over my years at SMA. Mr. Easton in the Middle School helped me to discover my passion for history, Ms. Swisher has supported me throughout my participation in a variety of orchestras, Ms. Gayley and Mr. McVie have also encouraged me to continue to pursue music, Ms. Hayden has helped me greatly and given me confidence in math — a subject I never felt confident in — and both Mrs. McCaskill and Ms. Applegate have continued to help me discover a passion for history.

There have been multiple tools my teachers and peers have given me through out my high school experience.
