Optimaxx Stainless Steel Decking Screws
Wood screw brand Optimaxx has announced the release of its new extreme performance Decking Screws. As decking season swings into action, Optimaxx is proud to announce its expanding line of wood screws with the release of its latest Stainless Steel Decking Screws. Optimaxx is recognised by many as one of the highest performing range of wood screws in the market, incorporating some of the best features that have been developed over many decades. Now Optimaxx has developed its decking solutions to better serve customers who are active in decking developments. The Optimaxx Stainless Steel Decking Screws are the latest addition to its decking screw range. Designed to work specifi‐cally for composite decking, these screws feature a range of application benefits, including serrations on the lower thread to enable quick and safe fastening. They include a non‐threaded shank to allow two materials to be pulled tightly together while the upper thread locks the deck board securely. Additionally, the cylindrical head is designed for fixing into the groove of the deck board, ensuring a secure fit. Quality Decking installations demand not only that weather‐resistant materials are used but also the right fixing. The new Optimaxx Stainless decking complements not only composite but hardwood and treated timber decking ensuring the completed deck stands the test of our changing seasons and time. Made from A2‐304 stainless steel, these screws are rust resistant, therefore making them a suitable choice for outdoor use. With an arrow shaped point, these screws provide a fast start without predrilling whilst minimising the risk of splin‐tering. The Optimaxx Stainless Steel Decking Screws are avail‐able in 200‐piece tubs and have the option offloor standing cardboard POS displays. The displays are able to hold both the Optimaxx Decking Screw tubs and the new Stainless Steel Decking screw tubs, with point‐of‐sale artwork printed to suit. The Stainless Steel Decking Screws will launch in February for pre‐orders with stock becoming available in April. An exten‐sive social media campaign is being supported by widespread trade press coverage and the sales team are available to discuss any questions you may have and take your pre‐orders. Owlett-Jaton > Exterior Woodscrews that Make the Grade
With spring around the corner, many people start to think about completing outdoor projects. Small scale construction, garden renovations and outdoor maintenance generally gather pace when the warmer weather arrives. But it is imperative that the correct fixing is used, to protect into the winter months. Not all screws are manufactured for external use, and an exte‐rior grade woodscrew is better suited for outdoor woodwork projects. A rusty or corroded screw can become weak and fatigued, making it more likely to break and inevitably cause problems. Owlett‐Jaton supplies a range of external grade wood‐screws, which have been designed to withstand extreme weather and provide a strong and durable fixing. Whilst stainless steel woodscrews are suitable for outdoor applications, they can be costly. Owlett‐Jaton supply ranges that have been specifically manufactured for external applications. The Vortex®exterior high‐performance power screw offers exceptional performance when used externally. The same tech‐nologically advanced screw as the standard Vortex, but with a Magsho Silver organic coating designed to offer superior resistance to corrosion. These screws are rated at 1,000‐hour salt spray test and are also ACQ (Alkaline Copper Quater‐nary) timber resistant. Designed to resist corrosion, the Unifix decking screws are manufactured with a green organic coating which provides for greater weather resistance, making them an ideal choice for fixing deck boards to timber joists. Utilising the same corrosion‐resistant coating as the decking screws, the Timberdrive range is a popular choice for heavy‐duty timber fixings. An exceptional screw for outdoor fixing, its heat‐treated shank offers additional strength.

Hafren fasteners twin thread security woodscrews
Designed for use in wood, Hafren security woodscrews are manufactured in hardened steel and zinc plated for protection against corrosion. These security woodscrews are created for use both internally and externally. Hafren wood screws have two threads running along the body of the screw and can be used for softwood or hardwood eg, oak, mahogany, etc. The twin threads allow screws to be installed/removed twice as fast as a regular single thread screw. Hafren offer two types of tamper resistant woodscrews from stock which can be purchased from any approved Hafren Fastener stockist. Clutch Head Twinthread Woodscrews: are 1‐way (permanent fixings). These security wood screws are easy to install with a standard slotted screwdriver. They cannot be driven anti‐clock‐wise due to the drive profile, making them extremely difficult to remove once installed. Sentinel® Twinthread Woodscrews: are 1‐Way (permanent fixings). The Sentinel® Woodscrews are installed with a Pozi screwdriver offering greater engagement, improved torque and less chance of cam‐out meaning easier / faster installation. The unique design of the drive renders them permanent and extremely difficult to remove once installed. As well as Hafren’s specially designed twinthread wood‐screws, some of the self‐tapping security screws, such as the 6‐Lobe Pin & Pin Hex varieties are regularly used as woodscrews. Hafren also stocks 5‐Lobe Pin self‐tappers in A4‐70 stainless steel offering improved corrosion resistance. Whilst this higher‐grade steel is generally more expensive than A2 Stainless Steel fasteners, it can be more cost‐effective over a longer period of time due to its corrosion resistance and durability, leading to reduced maintenance costs, fewer replacement parts and less down time due to equipment breakdown. It will also remain clean and bright under atmospheric conditions. Hafren have an extensive range of woodscrew sizes available off the shelf in zinc plated steel, with other nonstandard sizes and styles available to order using the company’s service. Hafren Security Fasteners are only available through approved distributors throughout the United Kingdom and worldwide. THE PROPERTIES OF AN ORIGINAL SPAX INCLUDE> T-STAR plus force application > Guarantees an even firmer hold and better SPAX guidance. For optimal force transmis‐sion, even when working overhead. The MULTI head > The innovative pocket segments help with every application. On wood, they have a milling effect, and on metal, they function like a brake to prevent over‐tightening. The corrugated profile > The unique cut of the thread all the way to the point ensures rapid, safe fastening and effortlessly pulls the screw into the wood. The 4CUT > The point significantly reduces wood splitting and pre‐drilling is made unnecessary for most wood types. The moment the screw bites is also effectively reduced. The cutter on the thread run‐out expands the wood even more and the thinner shank no longer produces friction. This keeps the torque low and saves energy, leading to more fastening with a single battery charge.

A Perry
As 2021 brings the same challenges as 2020 in response to Covid‐19, there has never been such a surge in demand in the sector for home renovations and construction. Having the right kit in the toolbox is critical and thanks to A. Perry, there is a screw for every construction project in the garden thanks to a wide product range for 2021. With its award‐winning patented TENZ Stairs Thread Technol‐ogy, TENZ FROM PERRY had been in development for over a year and since its launch to market six months ago has fast become its most sought after screw in the firm’s 95 years of trading. Developed for projects demanding the highest of standards, the key point of difference between conventional wood screws and the new TENZ wood screw is the revolutionary new thread design. TENZ reduces the friction along the thread making work more efficient. The wood fibres are gently displaced and not drilled or milled which uses less energy force thanks to the oscil‐lating screw. With significantly less effort required, the reduc‐tion in energy used allows for more screws to be driven in with just one charge of the battery. DeckingScrews from A. Perry is another high performance screw in the range designed for ease and speed when used with a suitable power tool. As the season dawns on the industry when people look to replace decking or create new decking in their garden, the new and improved rapid type 17 point gives quick penetration into some of the hardest, most durable woods used. It also has the ability to self‐clean wood swarf. Completing the trio of wood screws on offer and providing a complete choice of heavy duty timber fixings to complete any construction job is the No 6016 TimberScrew. Boasting a high performance fixing, this TimberScrew can be used on beams, rafters, stairs, joists, fencing, wooden walls and more giving peace of mind for the strongest of bonds and the option of five difference screw lengths. Whatever screw choosen for the job in hand, both the Deck‐ingScrew and TimberScrew are weather protected having undergone 1,000 hours of salt spray testing. Each also boasts sharp angle thread for screwing efficiency and double angle head to ensure self‐countersinking which prevents exposing harsh corners.
Reisser Cutter Mega Tubs
New from Reisser are the Mega Bulk Tubs which offer greater savings on Cutter High Performance Woodscrew sizes. The larger quantity designed tubs are designed with high volume users in mind and come with two free Reisser Pozi Bits included with every tub. In addition, the Mega Tubs are tough, resealable and easy to stack and store. Build to withstand constant abuse during transport to and from site, Reisser Mega Tubs are waterproof and chemically treated to make them shatter‐resistant and frost proof making it ideal for use in harsh weather conditions. Each Mega Tub comes packed with Reisser high performance Cutter Woodscrews. They are uniquely designed to give ultimate performance and a perfect finish in all wood applications. The two patented slots (25mm and above) allow the screw to work closer to the edge without splitting, and the ribs and tucks under the head enable the screw to sit flush and tight without surface damage. The 20‐degree needle point gives the ability to penetrate almost all timbers without a pilot hole and the sharp, wide deep thread with unique Reisser lubrication gives up to 40 percent less driving resistance and easy penetration. The Yellow Tropicalised coating gives effective corrosion resistance (compared to a standard BZP coating) and the deep reinforced countersunk head recess allows the best possible fit to the driver bit, reducing cam‐out and providing extra strength at the critical junction between shank and head. Stuart Froud and Christopher Marsh, Company Directors of Plumbtech Supplies said: “We were impressed not only by the product, but also by the Reisser point‐of‐sale material and merchandiser stands recently installed into our showroom.”
