ARTANDDESIGN
“Others have seen what is and asked why. I have seen what could be and asked why not.” -
Pablo Picasso.
The Art & Design Department’s Co-Curricular activities that take place outside the classroom encourage young people in S1 and S2 to develop their skills in using a range of art materials, techniques, and technologies. These include critical thinking skills, problem-solving, planning, and reflective skills. Young people will learn to use visual elements expressively, showing an understanding of the subject matter, and developing a variety of creative ideas for Art & Design work in both 2D and 3D.
Within the Art & Design Department, we support young people in expressing their creativity and innovating their ideas. We use digital learning to complement our high standards in traditional skills. Our CoCurricular clubs will run for two weeks providing four sessions on each specialist topic. This will allow the young people who join us to gain experience in working with a variety of different mediums, equipment and technologies.
Sketchbookclub S1
The Sketchbook Club is a weekly lunch club where we create wonderful themed sketchbook pages and is inspired by the world around us. It is a fantastic way to slow down and relax through creativity. We work with a variety of materials - from pencil, to fineliners, inks, charcoal, pastels and watercolours. You will learn core techniques that will help grow your confidence and skills over time.
