Writing this letter is normally my favorite part of putting each volume of the book together. I will spend a couple weeks letting ideas kind of form in my head and then after I have the one that sticks with me the longest, I’ll begin to write. Now while it might not seem like it, I spend quite a bit of time on the letter and I write it and rewrite it until it seems as close to perfect as it can get. And this month I wanted to write about the need for us all to love each other unconditionally. And then I got sick. I have been fighting this lousy cold for over a week and I keep thinking that tomorrow my head will be clear and I can think and I will write this letter. And then when “tomorrow” shows up, I feel even worse and now time is up. So you know what? You won’t be getting the well thought out letter you normally get. I’m just too sick. So I’ll cut to the chase. We need to find that unconditional love within us again, a love without ‘buts’. We need to love ourselves fully for our uniqueness. We need to embrace the uniqueness of those around us. Yes, our skin colors are different, our ways of communicating are different, our traditions are different but there is a tremendous amount of beauty in that. We don’t all need to be the same size. We don’t all need to dress the same, and who cares what bathroom someone chooses. We are indivuduals yet we are one. Let’s find the love this year. Not just the love for each other but the love for ourselves. We are worthy, we are beautiful and we are strong. Well not me. I’m sick as a dog. Here’s to a happy, healthy, loving 2017
