MY DREAM HAS ALWAYS BEEN TO BUILD A CAR WITH MY SON...

I met Daniel Ramey at a Beltway Mustang show and won my spot with STANG Magazine in their Carlisle Ford Nationals display. Needless to say I wasn’t sure what to expect being that I didn’t know the people attending and was going by myself.

This is My LNOR, my 2013 Shelby GT500. It has been my dream car since the day it was first announced in November of 2011 and I was lucky enough to finally get it three years ago. My dream has always been to build a car with my son that we could take to car shows/meets as a way for him and I to make some great memories. He and I even signed the SVT builders plaque on the valve cover. My love of Mustangs started in the late 90s when I got my first Mustang. It was a 91 convertible 5.0 Foxbody. I loved that car and spent way too much modding it to end up with a little over 400 hp, which at the time was a monster. Luckily, my then girlfriend, now wife, has always been supportive of my love of high horsepower Mustangs. When I had to sell it to start a family, it was with the promise that one day I would get another one.

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquiring this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!

The STANG Mag family welcomed me in from the very start and made me feel like one of their own!

take my car from 775 whp to well over 900 whp as safely as I can. I plan to own this car for the rest of my life and can’t wait to see what the future holds.

Members of the STANG Mag family are more passionate about fun and inclusion than they are their cars and that says a lot! I can’t wait to see what’s to come in 2022!

Build list includes VMP twin 67mm throttle body, JLT Big Air intake, 2.4 pulley, tuned by VMP, VMP heat exchanger, 1 7/8 American Racing long tube headers, off road X pipe, electric cut outs, 60 lb. injectors, and McLeod RXT 1200 clutch. Future plans include a built/sleeved TKM short block,L&M cams, id1300x injectors and boosta pumps, and 3.0L Whipple.

There are several reasons why I wanted a 2013 Shelby GT500. First is that it was the last year that Carroll Shelby had his hands on the car. Second is that it was the first factory 200 mph Mustang ever built. Not to mention it is the 20th Anniversary of SVT (which no longer exists) and it was the highest horsepower producing production motor America had ever seen. In my opinion, this car started the modern day horsepower wars that we see today. Currently, I am saving for a completely built TKM shortblock so I can
