POSITIVE CHANGE –2014 SHELBY GT500

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquiring this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!

My story is a long hard road. I’m a disabled Veteran. It’s been my life long dream to own the 2014 Shelby. I thought it was one of the best Carroll Shelby ever produced. My wife actually threatened to to divorce me over buying this car and now owns one. I was given the opportunity to become the South Carolina state Director for Team Shelby. I ran with it because I have nothing but time on my hands. I welcome all Ford truck owners and all Mustang owners. It’s my belief we are all the same and to be honest, most Shelby owners save all their life to own such an iconic car. I am greatful for every day God allows me to wake up and serve others. I’m just an old broke down disabled Veteran but my goal every day is to bring positive change to someone’s life, as my own life will be cut short.

In 2021 my dream finally came true. I bought my dream car, this 2014 Shelby GT500. Shortly thereafter my wife saw the passion in it and we bought hers. Everyday is a blessing. I owe my life to God and everything I have.

I met Daniel Ramey at a Beltway Mustang show and won my spot with STANG Magazine in their Carlisle Ford Nationals display. Needless to say I wasn’t sure what to expect being that I didn’t know the people attending and was going by myself.

I wear my Directorship as an honor to the late Carroll Shelby. My only regret, I was never able to meet the man. However, I have been honored enough to have dinner with the honorable Gary and Sarah Patterson. I tell my members that if they ever need someone to talk to, they can call me day or night. If they need anything to include someone to cry, pray, talk, or vent to. What they speak to me about stays with me, them and God. I love all my members. They are the most important thing to me. Each and every member makes Team Shelby what it is today.

The STANG Mag family welcomed me in from the very start and made me feel like one of their own!

Members of the STANG Mag family are more passionate about fun and inclusion than they are their cars and that says a lot! I can’t wait to see what’s to come in 2022!
