Message from the Director H
ow I enjoy discovering the new, hot-off-the-presses Stark Scene nestled in The Repository. Even though I know it’s coming, I still get excited to see all of the free programs going on in the libraries throughout the Stark County District Library system. So get a cup of coffee or hot chocolate, and peruse the pages. There is something here for everyone. Lifelong learning is a theme here at the library. Regardless of your age or stage, your life can be enriched when you use TENA WILSON your library. From story times that teach basic literacy skills, Executive Director, to maker activities that engage teens, to computer classes and Stark County District Library eReader demonstrations, to the best books and magazines – there really is something here for everyone. Often when I’m in the community, I’m fortunate that people will offer comments about the Stark County District Library. For instance, while at Canton Rotary recently, I received high praise for the ballroom dancing classes at the Perry Sippo Branch. I’ve received similar praise for art classes at the Madge Youtz Branch and excellent foreign language tutorials through our virtual library. Read these pages carefully; there may be something here on your bucket list. Of course I enjoy hearing compliments about our staff and services, but I also like to hear how we can improve. I hope you will enjoy attending many of the programs listed here. Tell us what you like and offer suggestions to make your library programming even better. These programs are for you. To inspire ideas, enrich your life, and create a better community. Enjoy.
