اﻻﻓﺘﺘﺎﺣﻴﺔ ﻣﺴﺘﻘﺒﻞ اﻻﻋﻤﺎل ﻓﻲ اﻟﻜﻮﻳﺖ Future of work ﻳﺤﻤــﻞ ﻣﺴــﺘﻘﺒﻞ اﻷﻋﻤــﺎل ﻓــﻲ اﻟﻜﻮﻳــﺖ ﻗﺼــﺔ ﺗﺤﺘــﺎج إﻟــﻰ أن ﺗــﺮوى ،ﻗﺼــﺔ أﻣــﻞ ورؤﻳــﺔ دوﻟــﺔ وﺗﻠﻤﻴــﺢ وﻗﻠــﻖ ﺑﺸــﺄن اﻟﻘــﺪرة ﻋﻠــﻰ ﻣﻮاﻛﺒــﺔ اﻟﺘﻄــﻮرات اﻟﺘﻜﻨﻮﻟﻮﺟﻴــﺔ اﻟﺴــﺮﻳﻌﺔ واﻟﻤﺘﻼزﻣــﺔ ﻣــﻊ ﺿﻐﻮﻃــﺎت وﻣﻄﺎﻟﺒــﺎت اﻟﺠﻴــﻞ اﻟﺤﺎﻟــﻲ ﻓــﻲ ﺗﺒﻨــﻲ اﻟﺘﺤــﻮل اﻟﺮﻗﻤــﻲ ﻓــﻲ ﺟﻤﻴــﻊ اﻹﺟﺮاءات واﻟﺘﻄﺒﻴﻘﺎت ﻓﻲ اﻟﺪوﻟﺔ. ﻳﺄﺗــﻲ ذﻟــﻚ ﻛﻠــﻪ وﺳــﻂ اﻟﻔﺸــﻞ ﻓــﻲ ﺗﻄﻮﻳــﺮ اﻟﻨﻈــﺎم اﻟﺘﻌﻠﻴﻤــﻲ وإﺻﻼﺣــﻪ اﻟــﺬي أﺻﺒــﺢ ﻏﻴــﺮ ﻗــﺎدرا ﻋﻠــﻰ ﺗﻮﻓﻴــﺮ ﻣﺨﺮﺟــﺎت ﺗﻌﻠﻴﻤﻴــﺔ ذات ﻣﻬــﺎرة ﺗﻘﻨﻴــﺔ وﺗﻜﻨﻮﻟﻮﺟﻴــﺔ ﻋﺎﻟﻴــﺔ ﺗﺘﻮاﻓــﻖ ﻣــﻊ اﻻﺗﺠﺎﻫــﺎت اﻟﺤﺪﻳﺜــﺔ اﻟﻌﺎﻟﻤﻴــﺔ ﻟﻤﺴــﺘﻘﺒﻞ اﻷﻋﻤﺎل. إن ﻣﺴــﺘﻘﺒﻞ اﻷﻋﻤــﺎل ﻳــﺪور ﺣــﻮل ﺻﻴﺎﻏــﺔ ﻋﻼﻗــﺔ ﺟﺪﻳــﺪة ﺑﻴــﻦ اﻟﺘﻜﻨﻮﻟﻮﺟﻴــﺎ واﻟﻤﻮاﻫــﺐ اﻟﺘــﻲ ﺗﺤــﻮل اﻟﻄــﺮق اﻟﺤﺎﻟﻴــﺔ ﻟﻠﻌﻤــﻞ وﺗﻄــﻮر ﻣــﻦ ﻣﻤﺎرﺳــﺔ اﻷﻋﻤــﺎل اﻟﺘﺠﺎرﻳــﺔ ﺑﺸــﻜﻞ أﺳــﺮع وأﺳــﻬﻞ ،ﺣﻴــﺚ أن اﻟــﺬﻛﺎء اﻻﺻﻄﻨﺎﻋــﻲ وإﻧﺘﺮﻧــﺖ اﻷﺷــﻴﺎء واﻟﻌﺪﻳــﺪ ﻣــﻦ اﻟﺘﻘﻨﻴــﺎت اﻷﺧــﺮى إﻟــﻰ ﺟﺎﻧــﺐ اﻟﺘﻐﻴﻴــﺮ اﻟﺪﻳﻤﻮﻏﺮاﻓــﻲ اﻟﻤﺠﺘﻤﻌــﻲ اﻟﻜﺒﻴــﺮ ،ﺳــﻴﻜﻮن ﻟــﻪ ﺗﺄﺛﻴــﺮ ﻛﺒﻴــﺮ ﻋﻠــﻰ ﻛﻴﻔﻴــﺔ إﻧﺠــﺎز اﻻﻋﻤــﺎل ﺧــﻼل اﻟﺴــﻨﻮات اﻟﺴــﺖ اﻟﻤﻘﺒﻠــﺔ ﻣﻤــﺎ ﻳﺴــﺘﺪﻋﻲ إﻟﻐــﺎء اﻟﻌﺪﻳــﺪ ﻣــﻦ اﻟﻮﻇﺎﺋــﻒ اﻟﺘﻘﻠﻴﺪﻳــﺔ واﺳــﺘﺤﺪاث وﻇﺎﺋــﻒ ﺟﺪﻳــﺪة ﺣــﻮل اﻟﺘﻄــﻮر اﻟﺘﻜﻨﻮﻟﻮﺟــﻲ وﺻﻨﺎﻋـــﺎت اﻟﺬﻛـــﺎء اﻻﺻﻄﻨﺎﻋــﻲ واﻟﺮوﺑﺮﺗــﺲ .ووﻓﻘــﺎ ﻟﻠﺘﺤﺪﻳــﺎت اﻟﺘــﻲ ﻧﻌﻴﺸــﻬﺎ ﻓــﺈن اﻟﻮاﻗــﻊ ﻫــﻮ اﺗﺴــﺎع اﻟﻔﺠــﻮات ﻓــﻲ اﻟﻤﻮاﻫــﺐ ﺑﺎﻋﺘﺒﺎرﻫــﺎ ﻋﻘﺒــﺔ ﻛﺒﻴــﺮة أﻣــﺎم ﺗﺤﻘﻴــﻖ ﻃﻤﻮﺣﺎﺗﻨــﺎ اﻟﺮﻗﻤﻴــﺔ ﻓــﻲ اﻟﺪوﻟﺔ. إن ﻣﻌﻈــﻢ اﻟﺠﻬــﺎت اﻟﻌﻠﻴــﺎ واﻟﺸــﺮﻛﺎت ﺑﻌﻴــﺪة ﻋــﻦ اﻟﺘﻔﻜﻴــﺮ ﺑﺠﺪﻳــﺔ ﻓــﻲ اﻟﻌﻤــﻞ ﺑﻘــﻮة ﻟﺘﻮﻇﻴــﻒ ﻣﻮﻇﻔﻴــﻦ ﺟــﺪد ذوو ﺧﺒــﺮات ﺗﻜﻨﻮﻟﻮﺟﻴــﺔ ﻣﺤﺘﺮﻓــﺔ أو إﻋــﺎدة ﺗﺪرﻳــﺐ ﻣﻮﻇﻔﻴﻬــﺎ اﻟﺤﺎﻟﻴﻴــﻦ ﺑﺎﻟﻤﻬــﺎرات اﻟﺘــﻲ ﻳﺤﺘﺎﺟﻮﻧﻬــﺎ ﻟﻠﺘﺤــﻮل اﻟﺮﻗﻤــﻲ وذﻟــﻚ ﺑﺴــﺒﺐ إن ﻋﻤﻠﻴــﺔ ﺗﺪرﻳــﺐ اﻟﻤﻮﻇﻔﻴــﻦ ﺗﺴــﺘﻐﺮق ﻃﻮﻳــﻼ وذات ﺗﻜﻠﻔــﺔ ﻋﺎﻟﻴــﺔ ،ﻓــﻲ ﺣﻴــﻦ أن اﻟﻌﻤــﺮ وﻗﺘً ــﺎ ً اﻻﻓﺘﺮاﺿــﻲ ﻟﻠﻤﻬــﺎرات اﻟﺮﻗﻤﻴــﺔ اﻟﺠﺪﻳــﺪة ﻳﺼﺒــﺢ أﻗﺼــﺮ ﻛﻞ ﻋﺎم.

وﻣﻤــﺎ ﺟــﺎء ﻓــﻲ ﻛﻠﻤــﺔ ﻋﻠــﻲ اﻟﻐﺎﻧــﻢ " :ﻓــﻲ اﻋﺘﻘﺎدﻧــﺎ ﻟﻴــﺲ ﺛﻤــﺔ أزﻣــﺔ ﺧﻄﻴــﺮة ﻓــﻲ اﻟﻌﺎﻟــﻢ اﻟﻌﺮﺑــﻲ واﻟﺸــﺮق اﻷوﺳــﻂ ،ﺑــﻞ ﻫﻨــﺎك أزﻣــﺔ ﺗﻨﺒﺜــﻖ ﻣــﻦ ﻫــﺬه اﻟﻤﻨﻄﻘــﺔ ﻟﺘﻀــﻊ اﻟﻌﺎﻟــﻢ ﻛﻠــﻪ ﻋﻠــﻰ ﺣــﺪود اﻟﺨﻄــﺮ .وﻳﺆﻛــﺪ ﺗﻘﺮﻳــﺮ أوﻟﺒﺮاﻳــﺖ – ﻫﺎدﻟــﻲ ان ﺗﺪاﻋﻴــﺎت " اﻟﺮﺑﻴــﻊ اﻟﻌﺮﺑــﻲ ـﺒﺒﺎ أﺳﺎﺳـ ً اﻟﻐﺎﺿــﺐ " ﻛﺎﻧــﺖ ﺳـ ً ـﻴﺎ وراء ﺟﻨــﻮح ﺑﺮﻳﻄﺎﻧﻴــﺎ ﻧﺤــﻮ ﺑﺮﻳﻜﺴــﺖ ،ﻛﻤــﺎ ﺳــﺎﻫﻤﺖ ﻓــﻲ ﻋــﻮدة اﻟﺘﻄــﺮف اﻟــﻰ اﻟﺴــﺎﺣﺔ اﻟﺴﻴﺎﺳــﻴﺔ اﻟﺪوﻟﻴــﺔ " .وﻣــﻦ ﻣﺼﻠﺤــﺔ أورﺑــﺎ واﻟﻌﺎﻟــﻢ اﻟﻌﺮﺑــﻲ ﻣﻌـ ًـﺎ أن ﻳﻮﻇﻔــﺎ ﻗﻀﺎﻳــﺎ اﻟﻬﺠــﺮة واﻷﻣــﻦ ﻟـــﺘﺄﻛﻴﺪ أﻫﻤﻴــﺔ ﺗﻌﺎوﻧﻬﻤــﺎ اﻻﻗﺘﺼــﺎدي " .وأن " اﻟﺤــﺮب اﻟﺘﺠﺎرﻳــﺔ اﻟﺤﻤﺎﺋﻴــﺔ ﺗﻤﺜــﻞ أﺣــﺪ أﻫــﻢ اﻻﺧﻄــﺎر اﻟﻤﻬــﺪدة ﻟﻠﺘﻌــﺎون اﻻﻗﺘﺼــﺎدي اﻟﻌﺮﺑــﻲ اﻟﺒﺮﻳﻄﺎﻧــﻲ ﻷن أﺿــﺮار اﻟﺤﺮوب اﻟﺘﺠﺎرﻳﺔ ﺗﻠﺤﻖ ﺑﺎﻻﻗﺘﺼﺎد اﻟﻌﺎﻟﻤﻲ ﻛﻠﻪ ".

7 Surefire Steps to Become

Everyone gets the opportunity to choose their path: some choose a corporate profession and others choose entrepreneurship. Unfortunately, there is a lot of uncertainty about how an entrepreneur forms, what path they should take to develop, and what separates the entrepreneurs who hit the apex of the economic charts versus those who live a life of struggle. In this article, we’ll discuss the steps to become an entrepreneur.
How We All Start Off
While some of us have a vision of “who we want to be when we grow up” very early in life, we all have to explore. We look at varying professions to choose what will be a good fit for us.
The Common Steps to Become an Entrepreneur
You want to start listening to successful entrepreneurs, reading their books, watching interviews with them, and taking the courses that will develop the entrepreneurial skills that you need. Once you have some clarity with your business plan, it’s good to get feedback or help developing a solid startup plan. You can get feedback on your business plan thru one-on-one consulting, group consulting, or even some mastermind groups. Once you start learning, it improves your creativity. You’ll see how others have been successful before, what business models exist, and you can find fragments of business ideas you may like to explore.
With any profession, there’s education required. If you want to become a teacher, firefighter, banker, child development specialist, or entrepreneur, there’s a development process. Regardless of what you want to do, there will be a training period. Some positions will have more on-the-job training, and other`s won`t. For entrepreneurs, there’s a big stereotype about whether its a feasible goal since there are so few people who do it successfully full-time, so the steps can be unclear. These are the steps I recommend and have found work.
1. Commit to Learning
For entrepreneurs, there are many training options. There are university training options and private training options. While it’s not vital that entrepreneurs choose a university program or spend thousands on education prior to starting their business, It is important for us to be very disciplined with our reading and developing new skills.

2. Find a Problem in the Market
With your continuing education under your belt, you’ll start to think like an entrepreneur. Overall, the position of an entrepreneur is a “Professional Problem Solver” position. In order to begin creating a business concept, you have to identify pain points for those around you or those you plan to be of service to. To find some good concept direction, you can ask: - What target audience do I feel passionate about? - What are their pain points? - What are things they struggle with? - How can I use my skills and resources to alleviate their pain points?
3. Identify a Solution
Brainstorm things that could alleviate the pain points for the target audience. -Would a product solve the problem? - If so, what kind? - Would a service solve the problem? - If so, what kind? - Can information solve the problem? - If so, how will you compile it?
4. Have a Dream and Desired Outcome to Eradicate the Problem
Ray Kroc, the visionary behind the international McDonald’s food chain had a desired outcome that kept him motivated. From the point that he saw the McDonald’s restaurant, he had a vision for it. He said: “When I saw it working that day in 1954, I felt like some latter-day Newton who’d just had an Idaho potato caromed off his skull. That night in my motel room I did a lot of heavy thinking about what I’d seen during the day. Visions of McDonald’s restaurants dotting crossroads all over the country paraded through my brain.” (Source: TheBalance) As entrepreneurs, we have to have a desired outcome that is bigger than dollar signs. The desired outcome will keep us motivated and working to reach higher and higher to achieve new ISSUE NO. 7

and steeper goals that impact more people. Other visionaries like Dr. Martin Luther King had dreams of racism being eradicated, obesity eradicated, small businesses able to scale, or other problems eradicated. Make big bold statements and release your creativity to envision big change.
5. Share the Vision with others and Rally Allies (Employees, Vendors, and Customers)
You can only grow an organization so big with your own personal labor. In an interview called How To Turn a Small Business into a Big Business, Verne Harnish said “The hardest person to hire is your replacement”. Most entrepreneurs struggle with hiring, and usually the first hire is the hardest. We try to hire cheap or hire as a means to give back. When we keep bad hiring practices, rather than being able to scale, we add more work: continual training and normal work duties. When we hire, we need to be mindful that the people we’re hiring are our replacements. They should have a skill level sufficient that they can briefly be trained, then work independently in a way they take something “off of our plates”. Prototyping jobs is something we have to be good at. In my article, How To Create a Training Manual, I give instructions for how you can make a training manual that helps with delegation. Having a training manual can expedite the training process, create more independent training opportunities, and show you whether the new hire is a self-starter, if they are resourceful, or if they will require alot of “babysitting”. Remember, you are inventing a system that makes money in your absence–not a job! To invent the system, you’ll have to continue building training, prototyping positions, and creating new profitable positions that increase the value and efficiency of the company.

6. Keep Learning and Testing to Scale
Most companies don’t scale. According to the SBA, there are almost 28 million small businesses in the US and over 22 million are self employed with no additional payroll or employees (these are called nonemployers). There’s a big pain point between startup and scaling up. Be mindful that once you want to grow past being a solopreneur, there will be more learning. Books like Scaling Up by Verne Harnish can be extremely useful for advising you about how to approach hiring, prototyping jobs, scaling execution, ramping up marketing, and all other things you’ll need to ramp up.
7. Train the Business to be Independent

4 Lessons That Most Successful
Entrepreneurs Had to Learn the Hard Way To help mitigate the impact of those speed bumps, here are four lessons that most successful entrepreneurs have learned the hard way, but maybe you don't have to. The path to building a successful business is rarely a simple one. But in the beginning, it seems simple enough: you’ll build an amazing product, market it and watch as people pull out their credit cards. Then you’ll hire people to take over menial tasks and you’ll move into the role of CEO, eventually delegating that as well and living on the beach in Bora Bora, sipping on a martini. Of course, anyone who’s spent more than three months trying to build a business knows that isn’t the common story arc for a thriving startup. The truth is, building a business brings lots of unexpected twists -- people quit, products fail, you burn out. To help mitigate the impact of those speed bumps, here are four lessons that most successful entrepreneurs have learned the hard way, but maybe you don’t have to.
1. Your first idea is rarely your best idea.
When you launch, your product is a bit like a newborn baby. It’s delicate, fragile and the last thing you want to hear is that it’s ugly -- or worse yet, to hear nothing at all. Unfortunately, the latter is often the case when an ambitious entrepreneur launches a product they love. Since your market doesn’t want to outright tell you that your product is terrible, they don’t say anything at all -they don’t interact with your content, they don’t click on your CTAs and they are quick to unsubscribe from your email list. And that’s OK. More often than not, your first idea isn’t your best idea, but can segway into a profitable idea if you do everything in your power to understand your market and what they really need. but about getting it right eventually. In the words of Eric Ries, which easily sums up what a lean startup is, “The only way to win is to learn faster than anyone else.” By the way, if you haven’t read The Lean Startup yet, it’s a must for first-time entrepreneurs. Lesson: Don’t get married to your ideas. Focus on the metrics that matter. Test everything before and during your building process.
2. Hiring the wrong person is more expensive than waiting for the right person.
When an amateur entrepreneur hires their first employee, it usually has more to do with how much they like the person and how cheap it costs to employ them than it does with how good that person is at their job. It doesn’t seem like such a bad idea at first. But it only takes doing this a few times to find out that hiring people because they're cheap or because you like them is a terrible idea. You’re better off hiring someone who’s good at the work they do even if they’re more expensive -- over the long run, the higher performer will actually save you money. Red Adair put it best when he said, “If you think it’s expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur.” Lesson: Take your time when hiring. You may have heard this before, “hire slow and fire fast.” It’s applicable to this point. Only hire when you PAGE 12
WWW.STARTUPSKW.COM absolutely must, initially. If there are things you can do early on, do them. But also, if it’s best to hire and delegate to focus on cash-generating activities, do that too. This is when you’ll have to trust your gut.
3. Your mental health directly impacts your business’s success. Entrepreneurship has a dark side -- a side that’s riddled with mental health ailments. Statistically, entrepreneurs are twice as likely to struggle with depression and five times more likely to struggle with ADHD than their less ambitious counterparts.
You could make an argument, of course, that the entrepreneurial lifestyle has a tendency to attract those of us with chemical imbalances, but I think it’s equally likely that building a business creates (or at least aggravates) symptoms associated with depression, ADHD and even bipolar disorder. And the more that you struggle, the more your business will struggle. I hit a workout recently with Austin Paulsen, the founder of AP Performance, and he explained, “It doesn’t take long to figure out that your own mental fortitude directly influences how quickly your business grows. I coach lots of people on their health and if there’s one thing I’ve learned along the way, it’s that a person’s health directly impacts their daily performance, at home and behind the desk.”

ground up takes time and work. Sometimes it will be a perfect storm and things will move faster, but be focused on the long term too. Sometimes, the reality is far more boring, but also far more likely. A gradual slope upward that’s riddled with relatively uninteresting spikes and plummets. That’s how it’s supposed to be. If there’s one thing I’ve learned about entrepreneurship, it’s that you have to enjoy the journey. If you love it, then you’ll succeed. Lesson: Be patient in your journey. Don’t compare yourself or company to others. And, focus on the things you can control. Entrepreneurship is the greatest thing I’ve ever experienced, but it can also be the most volatile. Embrace your journey. You’ll have lots of unexpected twists and turns along your entrepreneurial journey. You may be subjected to lawsuits from partners or customers, you may raise money and lose it all in the same day, you may grow sales or go bankrupt. Fortunately, you can learn from people who’ve already been there and done that. Successful entrepreneurs will act as your guiding light to help get you where you want to go. Find mentors, read books and network with your peers. By remembering the above four points, you’ll streamline your path to success and bypass a few of the lessons that most successful entrepreneurs had to learn the hard way.
Lesson: Your mental and physical health is everything, and it’s not worth the cost of your success. Don’t fall into that trap. Be an entrepreneur focused on longevity and sustainability, which means you need to focus on your physical and mental health too. Eat healthily, exercise often and disconnect multiple times per week.
4. The road to success can be a long one. When you launch your business, dreams abound. You don’t just dream at night, either. During the day, you find yourself wondering distractedly what it might be like to make millions of dollars or to lead a team of genius-level employees.
And sure, for some businesses, that dream is a reality. But don’t get sucked into the media frenzy highlight reels. Building a company from the PAGE 13

ﻫــﺬه ﻫــﻲ اﻟﺠﻤﻠــﺔ اﻟﺘــﻲ رددﻫــﺎ ﺟــﺎك دورﺳــﻲ ﻓــﻲ ﻣﺆﺗﻤﺮ ﺑﺠﺎﻣﻌﺔ ﻧﻴﻮﻳﻮرك ﻋﺎم ،٢٠١٠ﻋﻨﺪﻣﺎ ﺗﺤﺪث ﻋﻦ ﺗﺠﺮﺑﺘــﻪ ،واﻟﺘــﻲ ﺗﺆﻛــﺪ أن ﻗﻴﻤــﺔ اﻟﻔﻜــﺮة ﻻ ﺗﻘــﻞ أﺑـ ًـﺪا ﻋــﻦ أﻫﻤﻴــﺔ اﻟﺘﻮﻗﻴــــﺖ ،ﻷن اﺧﺘﻴــــﺎر اﻟﻠﺤﻈﺔ اﻟﻤﻨﺎﺳــﺒﺔ ﻟﻄــﺮح ﻓﻜﺮﺗــﻚ ﻓــﻲ اﻟﺴــﻮق ﻫﻲ اﻟﺴــﺮ وراء ﻧﺠﺎﺣﻬــــﺎ، ﺗﻤﺎﻣــﺎ ﻋــﻦ ﻛﻠﻤــﺔ اﻟﻔﺸــﻞ ،ورﺑﻤــﺎ وﺑﺎﻟﺘـــﺎﻟﻲ اﻟﺒﻌــﺪ ً ذﻟــﻚ ﻛﺎن أﺣــﺪ اﻷﺳــﺒﺎب اﻟﺘــﻲ ﺣﻮﻟــﺖ ﺗﻮﻳﺘــﺮ إﻟــﻰ أداة ﻋﺎﻟﻤﻴــﺔ ،ﺣﻴــﺚ ﺗﻼﺋــﻢ وﻗــﺖ ﻇﻬــﻮره ﻛﻤﻮﻗــﻊ ﻟﻠﺮﺳـــﺎﺋﻞ اﻟﻘﺼﻴــﺮة ﻣــﻊ ﺗﻄــــﻮر اﻟﻬﺎﺗــﻒ اﻟﺨﻠــﻮي ﻓــﻲ ﺑﺪاﻳــﺔ اﻷﻟﻔﻴــﺔ اﻟﺜﺎﻟﺜــﺔ ،واﺣﺘﻴــﺎج اﻟﻌﺎﻟــﻢ إﻟــﻰ ﺗﺪوﻳﻨــﺎت ﻣﻘﺘﻀﺒــﺔ ﻟﻠﺘﻮاﺻــﻞ ،وﻛﺎﻧــﺖ ﻫــﺬه اﻟﻠﺤﻈــﺔ اﻟﻤﻨﺎﺳﺒﺔ

Doing “Well” Is Not Enough: It’s Time to Start Dreaming Again
No matter where you are in life or the successes you have achieved in the past, there is always the potential to discover new dreams. By: Dr. Areej Khataybih
The other day I had a conversation with a friend who felt that he had “done everything he wanted in life” and had “checked all the boxes on his bucket list”. He spent his free time aimlessly and felt as though he couldn’t complain because he had everything he had always wanted, and he was “doing well where he was at”. I had to ask him if he felt as though he was settling. In his late 30s, could he have really accomplished everything he had ever wanted? “Well, no… But I don’t know where to go from here.” PAGE 26
What my friend was suffering from were not only mental blocks, but a complete lack of that spark that used to inspire him to dream of bigger and better things. And he’s not alone. Many of my clients that I coach face the same problems and get stuck where they’re at. The problem is that they have forgotten how to dream of new possibilities because they get so stuck in their day to day lives that they do not give themselves the chance to explore what could be. WWW.STARTUPSKW.COM So how do you overcome this feeling of being “stuck” and start to dream again? Start with a simple exercise. - Take a core thought you have today— something that pops into your mind when you least expect it that would normally dismiss because it isn’t aligned with what you need to accomplish. It could be as simple as something you would like to do when you have time, a vacation you would like to take, a project that sounds interesting, or something you never have had time to do. - Write the thought down if you don’t have time to explore it in the present moment. - Later, when you are done with everything you had to do for the day, give yourself time to play with the idea and give yourself PERMISSION to dream. It can be ten minutes or an hour, however long you want to give it. - Build up that thought and think about the possibilities of that idea, as if nothing was holding you back from chasing it. - Try to imagine what your life would look like if you followed that dream.

Your inner voice knows what you need, and leaders are naturally good at taking a small idea and turning it into something amazing that impacts the lives of everyone around them. When you cut yourself off from dreaming, you’re limiting your own potential and allowing yourself to be stuck where you are. This is one of the core ideas of the Spark Back method. It’s about overcoming those mental blocks you’ve put up and learning to give yourself permission to dream again. To do this, you have to retrain your brain and allow yourself to play with possibilities for the future. By drawing on your inner voice and recognizing that “doing well” where you’re at isn’t enough, you allow yourself to move towards a deeper transformation. Saudi Arabia: Brief History and Economic Overview EUGCC – Article
Saudi Arabia is the largest country in the Middle East and the 13th-largest nation in the world, with an area of approximately 2.15m sq km that accounts for 80% of the Arabian Peninsula. The Kingdom is covered by a series of interconnected deserts and scrubland. Saudi Arabia shares land borders with Jordan, Iraq and Kuwait in the north, Qatar and the UAE in the east, and Oman and Yemen in the south. It is also connected to Bahrain – off the east coast – by the King Fahd Causeway, a 25-km road bridge. Since its establishment in September 1932, the Kingdom has poured its considerable financial resources into a series of large-scale economic development, diversification and modernization initiatives. In the last few years, Saudi Arabia has attracted international attention for the momentum of its socio-economic transformation taking place under the auspices of the Vision 2030 development blueprint.

According to the IMF’s October 2018 “World Economic Outlook”, Saudi Arabia is categorized as an emerging market economy, a grouping that includes countries such as China, Turkey, Russia and India. The World Bank, for its part, classifies the Kingdom as a high-income, non-OECD country. According to the latest data from the World Bank, Saudi Arabia ranked as the 19th-largest economy in 2017, with GDP of $686.7bn, down from $756.4bn in 2014 due to a decline in oil revenue. The Kingdom also regularly participates in G20 meetings and will host the G20 in Riyadh in 2020. Hydrocarbons income has traditionally accounted for the vast majority of state revenue, however in April 2016 the government launched Vision 2030, a bold economic diversification plan with the central aim of transitioning the economy away from its dependency on oil. The plan calls for a multitude of developments, including greater localization of key sectors such as defense and value-added industrial production; an expansion of religious pilgrimage; and privatization of public services in key areas such as transport, utilities, education and health (see Economy chapter). Announced in June 2016, the National Transformation Programme (NTP) 2020 provides targets and plans as a roadmap for the medium-term objectives of Vision 2030. While questions have been raised regarding the manner in which the plans will be implemented, both the international and local business communities expect there will be ample opportunity for increased investment in the private sector.
