2024 Fall Sports Program
Happy New Year 2024-2025
Welcome to the start of another great year of Saints athletics! With the fall season upon us, it is important to highlight the athletic department’s primary goals and expectations. At St. Christopher’s, we often remind our student-athletes of our guiding principles in athletics, and we are pleased to share them with you as well.
Being a member of a team, and competing and striving for excellence on and off the field, are sure to test the core values and character of our student-athletes and teams. For that reason, as a community, we must champion the values that will best support our students during the upcoming seasons, both individually and collectively. The Community Pillars of honor & integrity, pursuit of excellence and community & brotherhood lie at the core of our athletic program Our goal is to provide a supportive environment where our coaches will encourage teamwork, personal responsibility, commitment, work ethic, selfdiscipline, perseverance, respect and leadership. We teach our student-athletes that how we respond to challenges, successes and failures is often far more important than the outcome itself.
Athletic Program Values and Philosophy
We take great pride in the fact that athletics plays an important role in furthering the mission of our school Utilizing the opportunities that arise at every practice, team meeting and competition to develop character and life skills in each of our boys remains a top priority.
Every boy, every coach and every sport offered is important to us, regardless of grade level, ability or impact. We value the connections that we are able to make with your son on and off the field, at all levels and in all sports. We understand that the only way to begin developing these relationships is to make sure that every boy feels valued as a part of something greater than himself
Athletics provides a unique opportunity to bring people together Not only are the athletes joined through their respective teams, but they are subsequently brought together with a common purpose and a single focus. In addition, collectively, our community of fans, parents, coaches and alumni join forces to support the boys regardless of the outcome.
We feel strongly that our coaches, student-athletes and parents must be committed to work together in order to ensure that every boy has a positive experience within our program. To that end, we work closely with the coaches throughout the year emphasizing the value and significance of sportsmanship–the manner in which we treat each other, our opponents, officials and guests It is essential that we reinforce the boys’ efforts to represent themselves and their school in a positive manner by continuing to model principled sportsmanship ourselves.
We are so excited for the start of the 2024-2025 year and look forward to our partnership in the months to come See you on the sidelines!
Go Saints!

Offense - The offensive line is the strength of this unit Headlined by senior Jack Seel and 4-star recruit Darius Gray ‘26, the front five is big, physical and experienced Clelland expects to be able to run the ball well and control the clock If it can do so it will keep StC in every game The Saints have a bevy of backs spearheaded by Michael Farley ‘26 Addison Gosline ‘25, Walker Turley ‘26 and Aiden White ‘27 are also dangerous options Calling the shots is Chase Roberts ‘26, a newcomer that transferred from J R Tucker Look out for another new Saint on the outside in WR Jaerron Johnson ‘27, who already holds Division I offers Isaac Lupica ‘25 and Finn Walter ‘26 have also shown promise early in the season
Defense - Gosline, Turley and Elijah Brandon ‘26 provide a terrific linebacking trio. All three love to tackle and make up for their size with their aggressiveness and speed. Up front Gray will man the middle as defensive coordinator Greg Tune has several options to get after opposing offensive lines. Gavin Johnson ‘25 is back from his injury last year and looks 100 percent at defensive end. Watch out for talented wrestler Drew Pendlebury ‘26 as well. Jayden Brown ‘25 roams in the secondary, leading the unit with Deacon Begley ‘25, a standout corner and one of the most consistent performs Clelland has had.
Special Teams - The kicking duties are being filled by Christian Rogers ‘25, last year ’ s full-time punter. He takes over for Jack Slokker who is at Hampden-Sydney. William Sterling ‘27 will also see action.
Overall - This team lost some talented players - Jacob Zollar ‘24 (Towson), Henry Omohundro ‘24 (Virginia) and Kahlil Nash ‘24 (HSC) to name a few However, the cupboard is far from bare and includes a nice mix of youth and seniority It has a chance to establish itself and claim a Prep League title as the league schedule opens up later in the season

The Saints return 16 players from last season, including eight seniors. The attack will be led by senior Jack Bleecher, who scored a team-leading 14 goals last season. Senior Steven Bishara will be the key in defense, starting the year at centerback after an All-Metro season at fullback as a junior. After losing key midfielders to graduation, the responsibility in the midfield will fall on Max Mumford ‘25, Lucas Gordinier ‘26, and Sutton Olesen ‘26 Talented seniors Dougie Boardman and Ben Smith will split time between the posts After another deep run in the state tournament last season, they are primed for another state tournament challenge this year.
