2024 Record: 14-1, VISAA Champs

Head Coach: Pontus Hiort

The varsity tennis team looks to continue their dominant performance from last season, ending the season with a 14-1 record, only losing to Collegiate in the regular season. With a strong and young team last year, the Saints did not lose a single player, and captains Harrison Willett ‘25, Sterling Burke ‘25, Bo Barbour ‘25, and Cade Collingwood ‘25 look to lead the team back to playoffs and hopefully a sixth state title in a row.

Last year, Burke and Blake Caldwell ‘25 were named First-Team All-State, while Barbour made the second team. The varsity tennis team has a rigorous schedule ahead of them, but they look like they are up for the task.

The varsity golf team is looking to bounce back from last year after placing third in the VISAA State Tournament, just two strokes behind champion Woodberry Forest. After losing a slew of seniors last year, including Hampden-Sydney and allstate golfer Garnett Hall ‘24, the Saints will look to fill the many open spots on the team.

Led by captains Aaron Baker ‘25 and allstate golfer Charles Lange ‘26, the Saints will vie for another VPL and VISAA State Championship trophy. The Saints will start with six straight away matches, followed by six straight home matches, all leading up to the Virginia Prep League tournament. Following the VPL tournament, the Saints will host Veritas for Senior Night and will conclude their season with the VISAA State Tournament at Williamsburg National GC.

After an underwhelming 8-10 record in 2024, the Saints look to bounce back with a strong 2025 campaign led by captains Deacon Begley ‘25, Charlie Edmonds ‘26, and Harrison Fuller ‘25 (Sewanee commit), and veteran coach John Burke Additionally, this year ’ s roster is loaded with young talent with 13 9th and 10th graders out of 32 total players However, the Saints also have many veterans looking to take their game to the next level and make a huge impact this season

Offensively, the Saints are loaded with solidified stars like Fuller, Begley, Edmonds, Hugh Mack ‘27, and James Ayers ‘26 (VMI commit), who are looking to put up the best numbers of their career Defensively, the Saints feature two main goalies with Hayden Regan ‘25 (Sewanee commit) and Freddie Moring ‘27

Additionally, players like Will Ackerly ‘27, Finn Walter ‘26, and Patrick Mullins ‘26 look to step up this year further bolstering the Saints’ stout defense Overall, the young talent mixed with veteran presence gives the Saints a good chance to dominate this season and beyond
