1 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. - Matthew 6:21 Who/What is special to you? Who/What do you treasure?

2 Once when Jesus was praying alone, with only the disciples (his closest friends), he asked them, “Who do the crowds say that I am?” - Luke 9:18 How do you think someone might describe you?

3 Have mercy on me, God, according to your faithful love! Wipe away my wrongdoings according to your great compassion! - Psalm 51:1 Who might need to hear “I’m sorry” from you?

After healing the paralyzed person, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting and collecting taxes. Jesus said to him, “Follow me.” - Luke 5:27 Would you follow Jesus if he called you? What might Jesus be calling you to do?

6 I assure you that when you have [helped] one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you have done it for me. - Matthew 25:40 Share a time when you have helped someone or someone has helped you.

7 The Lord’s Prayer - Matthew 6:7-15 Jesus gave us this prayer to offer as an example of how to pray. Pray the Lord's Prayer together. Each share what part gets your attention?

The word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time, saying, “Get up, go to Nineveh, that great city, and proclaim to it the message that I tell you.” - Jonah 3:1-2 Share a time when you needed to do something you really didn’t want to do.

9 Remember, O Lord: make yourself known… and give me courage. - Esther (Apocrypha) 14:12 Who encourages you? How could you encourage someone?

10 I wait for the Lord; my soul waits for him; in his word is my hope. - Psalm 130:4 Share a time when you listen for a word from God. Where do you find hope in the world? In your life?

11 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have?- Matthew 5:46 Has it ever been hard to love (or like) someone? How did you try to love (or like) them?

To behold the fair beauty of the Lord * and to seek him in his temple. - Psalm 27:6 After church today, go on an adventure to find something that reminds you of the beauty of God’s creation. Take a photo together there.

13 Jesus said, “I say to you that listen, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. - Luke 6: 27 Share a time when it was really hard to show kindness and love.

14 The greatest among you will be your servant. - Matthew 23:11 Jesus showed us the model of being a helper and friend to others. How could you make a special effort to help someone?

15 But as for me, I have trusted in you, O Lord. I have said, "You are my God. - Psalm 31:14 Who is easy to trust? Who is hard to trust? Why?

They are like trees planted by streams of water, bearing fruit in due season, with leaves that do not wither; everything they do shall prosper. -Psalm 1:3 The Bible compares people to trees that bear fruit. What are the good things ("fruit") do you see in a member of your family?

17 Today we hear the story of how Joseph's brothers were very jealous and angry at him. - Genesis 37:3–4,12–28 Share a time when you were angry or jealous. How do you move past it?

Today we hear the story of how Mary and Joseph thought (pre-teenage) Jesus was lost in a huge crowd. Jesus wasn't actually lost. He was actually in the temple teaching adults about important things. - Luke 2:41-52

Wonder together about what Jesus was like when he was young.

The Gospel reading was a parable about a fig tree that needed a little extra tending and time to grow. Make a trip to a local garden center to select something to plant and care for together. (Parable = simple story about a complex idea.)

Today we hear a story about Jesus being ignored or understood by others. Share a time when you felt ignored or misunderstood by people who know you well.

22 We will recount to generations to come the praiseworthy deeds and the power of the Lord, and the wonderful works he has done. - Psalm 78:4 What is your favorite story about Jesus?

23 Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people; and walk only in the way that I command you, so that it may be well with you. Jeremiah 7:23 What do you think it means to "walk in the way" of God?

24 Today is the Feast of the Annunciation. It is when we recall the story of Mary's visit from the angel Gabriel to hear the news that she would be Jesus' mother. Why do you think we hear this story during Lent?

25 Open my lips, O Lord, and my mouth shall proclaim your praise. - Psalm 51:16 If you were going to tell someone about Jesus, what would share?

On the day after the Passover, on that very day, they ate the produce of the land, unleavened cakes and parched grain. Joshua 5:9-12 Good news! You don’t need to forage from the ground. Head to the grocery store to pick up a box of matzah to taste. Do you like it?

When he heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went and begged him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death. John 4:47

Have you ever experienced something that felt like a miracle? (Miracle = Something that can only be explained by the movement of God.)

Jesus healed a person on the sabbath, the day of rest. This made some people very angry. Rest was holy in the times of Jesus and it was actually against the law to work on the Sabbath. - John 5 The Bible instructs us to take time to rest. When do you find time to rest? What feels restful to you?

29 The Lord is near to those who call upon him, to all who call upon him faithfully. Psalm 145:19 How would you like to ask God for help? Share now or offer it in prayer before bed.

30 The People of God that Moses were leading started to think that things were more important than God. Exodus 32:7–14 Tell a time when you placed more importance on something other than God.

31 O God, you have given us the Good News of your abounding love in your Son Jesus Christ - Collect (Prayer) of the Day What good news would you like to share?

Jesus was standing there, he cried out, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me, and let the one who believes in me drink. As the scripture has said, ‘Out of the believer’s heart shall flow rivers of living water. - John 7:37 Have you ever been close to "living water"?

Mary took a pound of costly perfume made of pure nard, anointed Jesus' feet, and wiped them with her hair.- John 12:3 Make a plan together to do something extra special for someone you love.

34 Jesus spoke to the people, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life. - John 8:12 Light a candle. Share what brings you hope.

Let this be written for a future generation, so that a people yet unborn may praise the Lord. - Psalm 102:18

Who was the first person who told you about Jesus? What did they share?

Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” - John 8:31–42 A disciple is a follower and friend. How might you be a follower and friend of Jesus?

37 He has always been mindful of his covenant, the promise he made for a thousand generations. - Psalm 105:8 A covenant is a promise. Share a time when you made a special promise to someone.

38 I love you, O Lord my strength… - Psalm 18:1 How could you show love for someone today? For God? What gives you strength?

39 My dwelling place shall be with them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. - Ezekiel 37:27-28 What does it mean to you to be one of God’s people?

Continue your loving-kindness to those who know you, and your favor to those who are true of heart. - Psalm 35: 10 What does it mean to be “true of heart? How might you show loving-kindness today?

TUESDAY OF HOLY WEEK

While you have the light, believe in the light, so that you may become children of light. - John 12:36 What does it mean to be a "child of the light"?

WEDNESDAY OF HOLY WEEK

At supper with his friends, Jesus was troubled in spirit, and declared, "Very truly, I tell you, one of you will betray me." - John 13:21 Have you ever felt "sold out" by a friend? Has a friend ever done something to lose your trust?

Maundy Thursday

I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. - John 13:30

Jesus washed the feet of his friends to show his love. You have a chance to do the same. Family Service - 6:00 PM in St. David's Hall or a more traditional service - 7:00 PM in the Chapel.

GOOD FRIDAY Good Friday is the day we remember how Jesus died on the cross and was laid a tomb. Consider reading the story together today - John 18:1-19:42 How do you think it would feel to be there?

HOLY SATURDAY

When the women came to visit Jesus’ tomb the next day, they were surprised to find it empty. Jesus had risen from the dead as he promised. - Luke 24:1-12 How would you like to celebrate this good news together? Easter Egg Hunt - 9:00 AM

The special word we use on Easter is “ALLELUIA”. It means “Praise God”. Join us at church to praise God together.
