HOME IN MOUNTAIN VIEW ESTATES
We purchased this home in 2010 and fell in love with the location. The home, while it sits on the corner, is incredibly quiet and is designed to face the South Valley. Rarely do we have traffic noise, but we do have lots of birds singing songs in the early morning hours.
The location is perfect in close proximity to downtown and the mountain and an easy drive to skiing, shopping and dining. The neighborhood is full of character with some original residents who have taken pride in their homes and a cul-de-sac perfect for the kids to ride around in. The only traffic is the residents themselves, and with no street lights, the stars at night shine over views of the Ski Area.
A s we love to entertain, we find ourselves spending much of our time in the kitchen, so we put a lot of work into making improvements to make it such an enjoyable space. The doors to each side of the refrigerator are pantry doors and the pull-out shelving makes for easy access to your cooking supplies. We made sure to have plenty of drawer space for pots and pans, cooking utensils, and supplies, and there is extra storage under the counter bar for your larger cooking appliances. When it comes to hosting large groups, the kitchen can easily hold 30 people gathered around the center island and dining area, and you are able to easily flow out to the covered area of the deck and the deck itself.
The multiple living spaces are a joy to relax in year-round. Watch football upstairs and stream skiing downstairs by the wonderful gas fireplace. With wonderful natural light throughout the home, you
can walk out from the lower level to the patio and enjoy a good book or the calming chirping sounds of the birds. The sunroom is versatile and could be a work-out room, office or a bonus family room.
A s we know in Steamboat Springs, the weather is constantly shifting and experiencing temperature swings throughout the seasons and days. The home stays cozy in the winter, especially enjoying the warmth of the gas fireplaces, and cool in the summertime with the cross breezes on those few hot summer days.
The outdoor living space is a total oasis. The yard and landscaping is beautiful, and the paver patio and walkway allow for great year round usage. The sprinkler system makes lawn and garden care easy so you can enjoy more time relaxing. The wildlife visitors that frequent the yard are always fun to see, so we installed game cameras on the house to actually see what the animals do in the middle of the night. It is really fun to watch!
O ne of our favorite things about the home that we tried to maximize throughout is the outstanding views. The Alpenglow on the mountain is amazing and the view of the South Valley is always changing. With Ski Area views, we can watch storms roll in over Mount Werner, see skiers enjoying the slopes, and even catch the occasional fireworks.
This neighborhood has been a great place to call home. The neighbors are helpful and friendly, private, welcoming, and supportive, and everyone really takes pride in their homes and yards. We’ve enjoyed the relationships we’ve built over the years.
