REVITALIZATION & IMPROVEMENTS
Steamboat Ski Area has made substantial improvements through its Full Steam Ahead initiative, investing over $220 million to enhance the guest experience. Upgrades include the new Wild Blue Gondola, a top-to-bottom experience that will be the longest & fastest 10-person gondola in North America. The Greenhorn Ranch Learning Center is a new dedicated beginner’s learning area, transforming the way skiers and riders learn. The resort is opening an additional 650 acres of expert/ advanced terrain making Steamboat the 2nd largest ski resort in Colorado. Advances in snowmaking are also being implemented with new automated, Low-E snowmaking technology ensuring more snow coverage. Steamboat has long been known for its pristine intermediate terrain, and this new expansion will put it on the map for the best skiers and snowboarders in the world.

IMPROVEMENTS
BASE AREA IMPROVEMENTS
The base area will also be receiving a facelift with a new layout creating an easy-to-navigate resort core, eliminating multiple levels of cumbersome stairs. Skeeter’s Ice Rink is now the centerpiece of Steamboat Square allowing for ice skating in the Winter months and lawn games in the Summer. A large stage for entertainment serves as the perfect spot to host festivals, concerts, and gatherings. Legendary music performances grace the stage throughout the Winter season. The Range is a new Food and Drink Hall offering a plethora of dining options conveniently located right in the heart of the base area. Happy Camp has a new and remodeled location offering the best mountain experience for kids year-round.

DOWNTOWN IMPROVEMENTS
The Downtown Yampa project was designed to improve the visitor experience and increase residents’ quality of life. Completed in 2016, the Phase 1 work consisted of streetscape improvements from 5th to 9th Streets along Yampa, undergrounding of the overhead electrical lines from 6th to 12th Street, replacement of a deep sewer main from 7th to 10th Street, installation of street lighting from 5th to 9th Streets and overhead festival lighting from 6th to 9th Street. Phase II of the Yampa Street Improvements continued in 2017, including streetscape improvements from 9th to 12th Streets, re-construction of the 9th Street parking lot and extension of the festival lighting system to the 10th and Yampa intersection. In the Spring of 2018, the street was repaved; benches, bike racks and trash cans were installed; and, some additional small hardscape and landscaping work was completed to finalize the project.

AIRPORT IMPROVEMENTS
A multitude of improvements have been underway at the local airport with hopes to increase passenger volume, ease travel for passengers, and streamline methods for personnel. This will include processes to administer operations more effectively and increase automation to minimize errors and facilitate faster passenger processing times. Plans have also been implemented to increase commercial deicing facilities to reduce aircraft ground times and delays during snowy weather. In addition, much of the infrastructure will be expanded to include on-airport aviation hangars and businesses, a multi-phase terminal expansion, and construction of rental car storage lots.
