Task description: In this task you will be assessed on how well you: • demonstrate conceptual strength and meaning within your developing body of work (layers of meaning) • demonstrate technical resolution (use of materials and techniques) • document your artmaking practice in your VAPD Type of Task: In-class test/task, including practical tests Method of Submission: Hardcopy Timing of Task: Week 8 Task date: 23 March 2022 Task weighting: 20%

Task completion details: Both BOW and VAPD to be handed/displayed for the teacher by 3pm on the Due Date.

Task outcomes: Outcomes to be assessed: H1: initiates and organizes artmaking practice that is sustained, reflective and adapted to suit particular conditions. H2: applies their understanding of the relationships among the artist, artwork, world and audience through making a Body of Work. H3: demonstrates an understanding of the frames when working independently in the making of a Body of Work. H4: selects and develops subject matter and forms in particular ways as representations in artmaking. H5: demonstrates conceptual strength in the production of a body of work that exhibits coherence and may be interpreted in a range of way. H6: demonstrates technical accomplishment, refinement and sensitivity appropriate to the artistic intentions within a body of work.

Instructions for Task Preparation: • Present your VAPD, which thoroughly documents all aspects of the development of your Body of Work. - Conceptual strength and meaning (subject matter, the layers of meaning in your work) - Material Practice (materials and techniques used) - Frames that relate to your BOW (subjective, structural, cultural, postmodern) - Conceptual Framework (artist, artwork, world, audience)

- Resolution (what you envisage your BOW to look like upon completion - Complete an artist’s statement of intent that covers the above: approximately 200 words (20 marks) • Present your Body of Work to date, which demonstrates your understanding of artmaking practice and represents your ideas and interests through the interpretation of subject matter and the use of an expressive form. At this stage you should be approximately one third of the way into the creation of your BOW. (30 marks)
