Chef Joe Massaglia opened his ristorante in Seaville in 1988, after a successful career at renowned restaurants in the region (when he also prepared the Penne My Way for Frank Sinatra). If you are lucky enough to sit down with Joe for a chat, it won't take long to realize he's the real deal. Joe's from Italy and began his culinary journey over 50 years ago at a five-star hotel in his home country. Mama Mia's offers fine dining with recipes they've used for over 30 years, starting with Joe's mom... Mama Bertina. That's her picture you see on the wall, teaching the kids how to make pasta. Sit down in the warm dining room with a glass of wine... you'll be glad you did even before you begin eating. The vibe is friendly, warm, and happy. Mama Mia also serves a large variety of gourmet pizzas, flatbreads, calzones, stromboli, sandwiches (hot and cold), wraps, salads, burgers, fries, pastas (try the baked ziti bolognese), and other fine Italian fare like chicken marsala, eggplant parmigiana, calamari puttanesca. Hungry yet? Last year, Mama Mia's moved to its current location in Marmora, where they are serving the same delicious food at the same awesome prices. They deliver anywhere on the island. Favoloso!
