Sunday, October 1 at 3 pm $ 55, $35, $25 hoops twirl, diablos whirl, and acrobats soar – all in a day’s work (or play) for Flip FabriQue, the new kids on the circus scene. Fun, funny and fresh-faced this nouveau cirque crew takes athleticism and showmanship to new heights in cATch ME! (Attrape Moi). The high-flying show is in an explosion of happiness, giggle and gasp inducing acts and packs all the joy  of  a  summer’s  day  into  one  evening  full  of  fun!  The Huffington Post calls it a “smile generator” with the ability to enchant children and adults. These cool kids of circus dare you to catch them before they bound out of town!

Wednesday, October 4 at 7:30 pm $ 65, $50, $37, $25 This musical journey of rock ‘n roll’s greatest legend, Janis Joplin, takes the audience back to the 60’s music scene with icons like Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone, and Bessie Smith. The musical was written by Randy Johnson who has fueled the production with unforgettable songs including “Me and Bobby McGee,” “Piece of My Heart,” and “Mercedes Benz.” Joplin was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 and posthumously given a Grammy® Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005. Thursday, October 26 at 7:30 pm $ 60, $40, $25 There’s a whole lotta shakin’ going on! Get ready for a night of rockabilly, country, gospel, and pure 1950s rock ‘n roll with One Night in Memphis. A night that takes you back to December 4, 1956 when four of the biggest names in early rock ‘n roll – Elvis Presley, carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Johnny cash – gathered together for an impromptu jam session at the legendary Sun Studios in Memphis. The  world-famous vienna  Boys  choir  is among the oldest of all musical organizations, having been founded pursuant  to  an  imperial  decree  of  holy Roman  Emperor  Maximilian  I in  1498.  These young cultural ambassadors continue to be adored for  their  wide  range  of  repertoire,  purity  of  tone,  and generosity of musical spirit. The angelic-voiced musicians of the vienna Boys choir will celebrate the magic of the holiday  season  with  Austrian  folk  songs,  classical masterpieces and other holiday carols. Wednesday, December 20 at 7:30 pm $ 80, $65, $49 The  spirit  of  the  season  comes  alive  with  the  signature sound of Mannheim Steamroller by chip Davis. This marks the 33rd Anniversary of the christmas Tour. The group’s first christmas album, “Mannheim Steamroller christmas,” was released in 1984 and revolutionized the holiday Season music category. In addition to being a holiday tradition for many families, the Mannheim Steamroller christmas Tour is one of the longest running tours in the music industry.

Moscow Festival Ballet

GISELLE Thursday, January 25 at 7:30 pm $ 65, $45, $25 Moscow Festival Ballet’s  Giselle brings an evening of dance, drama, and beauty to the stage of Stephens Auditorium. Giselle is a humble peasant girl who dies of a broken heart after discovering her lover is betrothed to another. A group of supernatural women, who dance men to death, summon Giselle from her grave. They target her lover for death, but Giselle’s great love frees him from their grasp. The Russianbased Moscow Festival Ballet merges the highest classical elements of the great Bolshoi and Kirov Ballet companies.

Friday, April 6 at 7:30 pm $ 45, $35, $25 Shattered Glass is a sixteen member conductorless string orchestra based in New York city and very much a product of the 21st century. virtuosic and versatile, Shattered Glass balances vibrant excitement with a meticulous respect for piece, composer, and tradition. With a repertoire that ranges from Bach, Britten and Bartok to Schoenberg and Stravinsky, Shattered Glass has also been active in innovative crossover collaborations with Grammy-award winning pop and hip-hop artists. At their core is a commitment to building a special relationship with audiences by tailoring each performance to specific audiences and venues. Listeners can’t help but experience a connection with every one of the musicians  and barriers typical of the classical music experience are, well, shattered! SPECIAL PERFORMANCES ARTIST-IN-RESIDENcE   ANTHONY TRIONFO, flute Thursday, October 19 at 7:30 pm $ 15, $5 Martha-Ellen Tye Recital hall on the campus of Iowa State university Praised for his “spellbinding” performances with “authoritative intellect” by the Santa Barbara Voice, flutist Anthony Trionfo is a first prize winner of the Young Concert Artists 2016 International Auditions where he received several additional prizes and the further distinction of being the first YCA artist to win the inaugural LP Classics Debut Recording Prize, granting him a commercial recording. Recipient of the Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award in 2012, Trionfo also appeared on NPR’s From the Top as a Featured Alumni Performer. In 2013, Anthony was a first prize winner of the Alexander & Buono International Flute Competition and a winner of the National Young Arts Foundation Competition. He served as the Principal Flute of the American Youth Symphony for the 2015-2016 season. Young Concert Artists is a non-profit organization founded by Susan Wadsworth in 1961, dedicated to discovering and launching the careers of exceptional, but unknown, young musicians from all over the world.

ThE NuTcRAcKER BALLET Saturday, December 9 at 1:30 pm and 7:30 pm Sunday, December 10 at 1:30 pm $25, $20 No holiday season is complete without the festive cheer of The Nutcracker Ballet as the titular Christmas Eve gift inspires an entire world of fantasy and fun. Journey with Clara and her hero as they defeat the evil Mouse King. Travel with them through the magical Land of Snow and delight in their arrival in the Kingdom of Sweets with lively and colorful dances from around the world. Now in its 37th year, this local production is complete with flurrying snow, a colossal Christmas tree, a troika sleigh, and of course, leaps, spins, and extraordinary moves all performed to Tchaikovsky’s incomparable score.
