Lunch Time Special. Starters. Andrew Irelands Famous Black Pudding Sliced Black pudding served with a creamy wholegrain mustard sauce & seasonal garnish. Gentleman’s Platter Chefs Chicken Liver Pate & Melba toast with Cumberland sauce and side salad. Luxury Prawn Cocktail Fresh luxury prawns on a bed of lettuce with Chef’s Marie-Rose sauce with a lemon wedge. Soup of the Day Freshly made by our team of Chefs with fresh bread and farmhouse butter. (ask for today’s variety) Egg Harlequin Free range eggs on crisp lettuce with a drizzling of mayonnaise with a sprinkling of paprika. Creamy Garlic Mushrooms Fresh mushrooms in a white wine, garlic & cream sauce served on a homemade crouton.

Main Courses. North Sea Battered Haddock Fresh fillet of haddock dusted in seasoned flour then deep fried in our crisp beer batter, served with our creamy tartar sauce and fresh lemon wedges on the side. Farmhouse chicken and bacon Simply succulent slices of chicken breast and snippets of best British bacon pan fried in a herby farmhouse butter, with fresh mushrooms. Countrystyle Gammon Steak Generously sliced 8oz gammon, our kitchen double bake it, first we sear it to retain the juices, then we bake it in the oven until cooked to perfection finished with eggs or pineapple, or why not both. Vegetable Lasagne Chef’s homemade vegetarian lasagne with layers of pasta, beef tomatoes, courgettes, aubergines, peppers and onions in an Italian tomato, garlic and oregano sauce, with a bubbling cheese topping. Chef’s Cheese and Onion Pie Mature cheddar, Red Leicester and Creamy Lancashire with red onions encased in a rich buttery pastry. Simply Traditional! The Paythorne Pudding Slow braised locally sourced steak and onions cooked in rich gravy encased in fluffy suet pastry, an irresistible classic.
