The Footman Tours Have you discovered the nooks and crannies of St George’s Hall yet? Our popular Footman tours are running at weekends over the summer. For the first time in over 160 years, visitors will be invited to discover the magnificent Grade I listed building’s hidden depths and unseen places - from the old rickety wooden structures of the dark corridors above The Great Hall, down to the basement. Although he came to prominence as a poet in 1967, Adrian Henri was regarded as a ‘total artist’ having trained as a painter and exhibiting widely throughout his career. He also fronted the unlikely poetry-androck band Liverpool Scene, leading John Peel to dub him “one of the great non-singers of our time”. This exhibition will showcase 1960s artworks, poems and original rock posters offering a glimpse into to Henri’s multi-faceted talents. Tonight At Noon is a series of exhibitions and events to celebrate 50 years since the publication of The Mersey Sound by Liverpool Poets Adrian Henri, Roger McGough and Brian Patten. Trial by Jury 16 – 18 Aug | 7 pm This brand new LoveHistory experience takes interactive theatre to a new level. If you ever fancied yourself in a courtroom drama, then this is for you! Think Twelve Angry Men where we see each jury member debate the fate of the accused in a sensational and classic courtroom drama or Time to Kill when the young and determined lawyer swings a verdict of guilty to not guilty through his powerful and heartfelt summation. Bye Bye Baby 31 Aug | 7.30 pm Bye Bye Baby is more than your average tribute band. They deliver a full theatre show covering

the journey of the Four Seasons from the very beginning up until the Disco era and the rock and roll hall of fame. In fact a musical journey through the sounds of one of the most

successful bands of all time. They perform 31 numbers in close 4 part harmony, with slick choreography and the recognisable falsetto this really sets the scene for a great night.

Liverpool Comedy Festival Sat 16 & Sun 17 Sep The Comedy Village will launch on the opening weekend of the 2017 Liverpool Comedy Festival (Sep 16/17) and see St John’s Gardens transformed for two whole days into a free-entry, family friendly, quintessentially English village with a comedic twist. Showcasing comedy performances, outdoor music, street performers, workshops, storytelling and a host of exciting activities for children and young people, The Comedy Village will be the showpiece event of Liverpool Comedy Festival for 2017 and beyond. Red Priest: Gypsy Baroque Fantasy - Liverpool Philharmonic Chamber Music Tue 26 Sep | 7.30 pm They called him the Red Priest – but you probably know him better as Antonio Vivaldi. Led by “superhuman” recorder player Piers Adams,“baroque supergroup” Red

Priest puts the fire back into the baroque, making every performance into a carnival. Tonight, it’s all about the gypsy spirit, with wild, folk-inspired music by Telemann, Handel and of course Vivaldi himself. HOW TO FIND US St George’s Hall is situated in the heart of Liverpool’s Cultural Quarter, 3 minutes from Liverpool Lime Street Station.

Get to St George’s Hall by train with Merseyrail from £1.95 return or just £11 for a Family Ticket, giving a family of up to 5 unlimited off-peak travel. (Off-peak is after 9:30am Monday – Friday and anytime on weekends and bank holidays). St George’s Hall is across the road from Liverpool Lime Street for main line and Wirral line passengers, or a 7 minute stroll from Liverpool Central for Northern Line passengers. Plan your journey at www.merseyrail.org. Parking –Follow signs for Liverpool Lime Street Station Nearest Bus Stop – Queen Square Bus Station.
