From the moment the Giants first stepped foot in Liverpool back in 2012, the city was hooked. It was the start of a six year journey which would see Giants capture the hearts and minds of hundreds and thousands of spectators lucky enough to be part of their adventures, with Royal de Luxe being made to feel so welcome they referred to the city as their second home. And now they’re back for the third and final time with an extra special show entitled Liverpool’s Dream. Anything can happen in dreams, so prepare to expect the unexpected.

They call him a ‘Holy Minimalist’, but there’s nothing small about the achievement of Arvo Pärt. Centred, sophisticated and profoundly beautiful, it’s no wonder that Pärt’s music has become Estonia’s greatest musical export. As Ensemble 10/10 turns 21 and Estonia celebrates 100 years of independence, this is a portrait of a small nation with a big musical voice. Sponsored by Investec. ‘What passing bells for these who die as cattle?’ On 4 November 1918, barely a week before the Armistice, the Birkenhead poet Wilfred Owen was killed on the Western Front. 100 years on, internationally famous Liverpool poet Roger McGough (presenter of BBC Radio 4’s Poetry Please) remembers a lost generation.
