Adrian Henri exhibition Wed 12 Apr – Sat 15 Jul Although he came to prominence as a poet in 1967, Adrian Henri was regarded as a ‘total artist’ having trained as a painter and exhibiting
widely throughout his career. He also fronted the unlikely poetry-androck band Liverpool Scene, leading John Peel to dub him “one of the great non-singers of our time”. This exhibition will showcase 1960s artworks, poems and original rock posters offering a glimpse into

Minton Floor Reveal Thu 13 – Wed 19 Apr 10am-5pm Daily (last entry 4pm) Visitors to Liverpool’s St Georges Hall will get the rare opportunity to view the spectacular Grade I listed building in all of its remarkable glory this April, as its famous Minton Tiled flooring will be unveiled from Thursday 13th Wednesday 19th April 2017. Amongst the world’s finest examples of an encaustic tiled floor, the handcrafted mosaic of more than 30,000 tiles were concealed in the 1860s to allow dancing and events at the prestigious venue. The intricate and exquisite patterned tiled flooring depict the Liver
The Hall will be open daily from 10am-5pm (last entry 4pm) where visitors will be able to view Liverpool’s hidden gem and gaze again at the site of the Great Hall in all its original grandeur. Steve Binns, City Historian will also be available daily at 11 am, 12 pm, 2 pm and 3 pm to provide a detailed insight into the history of The Great Hall. There will also be 1-hour guided Walk the Floor Tours available each day at 10am-11am and 4pm5pm in which visitors will learn about the history of the Hall and the famous flooring and then be able to access and walk on the World renowned Minton Tiled floor.
Why not enjoy a night on the tiles? Each evening from 6pm-9pm guests will be able to enjoy the rare privilege of being able to “walk” on the world heritage site floor whilst enjoying a complimentary glass of fizz on purchase of a ticket. Be sure not to miss this rare opportunity to witness one of the city’s most iconic and grand buildings in all of its original splendour when it’s famous Minton Tiled flooring is unveiled from Thursday 13th to Wednesday 19th April.

Student photography exhibition 27 April – 28 May The Liverpool Archdiocese Secondary Schools’ Partnership is delighted to be holding this year’s Student Photographic Competition. The exhibition will run from 27 April until 28 May, 2017 St George's Hall will host entries from our 38 schools and colleges, ranging from our younger students in Year 7, through to Year 13.
