ust when we think we’ve seen the ultimate in nautical innovation and design, Heesen raise the bar even more and leave us mesmerized with a creation that’s infinitely better. Quinta Essentia is the largest yacht ever to be commissioned to Heesen. Spanning four decks and boasting an impressive 55 meter aluminum displacement, its construction represented a challenging engineering feat even for Heesen, with their 30 years of expertise in the industry. Applying their unique concept of building architecture for performance and luxury, Heesen has created an aluminum hull for Quinta Essentia that is light and sleek and glides through the water like no other. This new Queen of the Ocean demonstrates so many breakthroughs in both the aesthetic and technical realms that on exploring you will find a surprise waiting around every corner. Firstly let’s take a look at the staggering statistics; 800 gross tonnes of internal volume powered along at 24 knots, a range of over 4,500 nautical miles thanks to a huge 147,000 liter fuel tanks, plus a vast storage capacity. Such a profile promises endless possibilities. On approaching Quinta Essentia, await to be struck not only by the enormity of her presence, but her breathtaking exterior finish. Designed by Omega, with hydrodynamics by Heesen, in collaboration with Van Oossanen, and concept creation by Ken Frievokh, the yacht’s original,

gleaming form seems to ebb and flow in harmony with the waters beneath. Her custom oyster white exterior is enriched with a rich metallic wine color that draws the eye to her smooth curves and inviting entrance. The color choice did not happen by chance, however. Created by the owner of Quinta Essentia, with the help of Dobroserdov Design, the rich wine paintwork celebrates his passion for fine Italian wines, particularly Merlot. The owner’s wine enthusiasm runs in the family, his daughter owns the Fattoria di Montemaggio vineyard in Tuscany. It therefore made sense that the family’s love of wine should be incorporated into the design of their very special yacht. Embarking Quinta Essentia, it quickly becomes apparent that just as much attention to detail and originality has been adopted inside as out. Designed by Michela Reverberi, every inch of the interior has been created with passion and dedication. One of the owners’ particular requests was the incorporation of floor-to-ceiling views. Instead of simply adding some large windows, the team installed a radical ‘eye’ concept in the master suite that includes not only said full-height windows but glass bulwarks. As is Heesen’s approach, they always go one step further. Walking through the sumptuous lounge and dining area, feeling the spring of luxurious carpets under foot, brings you to the aft of Quinta Essentia and to one of several sundecks.

A 7,000 liter Jacuzzi pool awaits, complete with its own rainforest shower. It’s the perfect spot for relaxing and taking in the spectacular views. The construction of this spectacular Jacuzzi was one of the most technically difficult challenges. The rain shower effect is the result of a stream of pressurized water falling through 3,000 onemillimeter holes that were drilled into a three meter length of polished stainless steel and embedded into the deck head. The water level always stays the same, regardless of how many guests are in the pool, thanks to a connecting ballast tank. Relaxing in the Jacuzzi is one thing, but this pool area is not just for bathing. The pressure of the water is so strong that it can be used as a screen for projecting films. Imagine inviting your friends to watch a film literally on water, while they lounge on the beach style dinning deck. The creativity that has gone into the creation of Quinta Essentia is outstanding. Picture your perfect get away and Quinta Essentia not only delivers but goes beyond the boundaries of your imagination. As we continue up to the innovative sun deck and spa, there are further surprises as Team Heesen’s custom building capability impresses us once more. The entire sun deck space is dedicated to health and beauty and includes a fully equipped Technogym, sauna, steam room and a professional treatment saloon. Relax in

a tranquil, circular entertainment lounge while enjoying breathtaking views across the horizon. A second Jacuzzi and a large dining area ensure that all guests will have plenty to occupy their relaxing days aboard. Yet another example of cutting edge engineering expertise on this level is the wet dock that houses the extensive 25 foot limousine tender. Guests can simply step aboard without the usual awkward maneuvering, a complex feature generally but one that is even more astounding on a 55 meter yacht. Once the sun has set and a chilly breeze descends it is time to move inside. The sky lounge is as luxurious as it is state-of-the-art. Michela Reverberi, the reputable interior designer who Heesen entrusted with creating the incomparable inside space of Quinta Essentia, worked closely with Sinnex and Heesen’s in house team. Reverberi’s extremely complex finishes combined with the owner’s personal wish list of items has resulted in a veritable work of art in interior design. Shaped like a figure of eight, the sky lounge boasts two circular saloons, both surrounded by full-height windows which open out to side balconies and the aft deck. Such an effect brings the outside in, so guests can enjoy an outdoor ambiance from the comfort and warmth of inside. The first saloon makes the perfect entertaining area, where an open fire and baby grand piano create the perfect ambiance before dinner is

served in the elegant and serene second saloon. Taking a look at some of the features gives just a hint of the skill and dedication that has gone into the design of this main lounge area. The pearlised lacquer paneling was created by spraying over 20 layers of lacquer onto the surface. A team then hand rubbed the lacquer to produce the desired, eye catching effect. The giant macassar ceiling bands are also a striking feature of the main saloon. In order to achieve the necessary impact, these extremely fragile bands needed to be installed from the ceiling and down the full height of the wall. Within the macassar cabinets, custom engineered Ad Notam black mirror plasma screens were fitted seamlessly; perfectly finishing a concept of high-end sophistication meets inspiring technology. Even simply moving between all three decks is a novel experience aboard Quinta Essentia. An impressive, sleek circular staircase surrounds a glass atrium, which houses a lift connecting the three decks. The task of combining Pictet handmade curved glass panels, polished stainless steel and black marble was one of the most demanding tasks Heesen has ever encountered in over 30 years of yacht building. The outcome is a beautiful sight. Taking the lift or stairs to the guest rooms, brings us to a maze of perfectly appointed en-suite

accommodations. Six cabins sleep 12 guests, which includes a master suite with an additional double cabin on the main deck. The lower deck is home to one double, one twin and one full-beam, convertible VIP cabin. Entering the master suite will literally stop you in your tracks. More floor to ceiling windows brings the beautiful views inside. Set within a concave of glass, the bedroom opens out to a generously sized private balcony. With a ceiling height over two meters, considerably high for a yacht suite, the room is given an even grander feel. But this doesn’t just feel like a suite; walk in wardrobes, an additional double cabin and even a private office makes the space seem like a penthouse apartment, exclusively for the owner’s use. Key features in the master suite have been carefully designed using the most innovative technology, while keeping an essence of timeless style. Take the en-suite bathroom, for example. The one-piece black stone bath is mounted on a white onyx floor, the edging on the lacquered wood cabinets is black marble and the mirror is inset with an immaculately bonded silver leaf frame. Further raising the bar on cutting edge technology; guests who stay in the master suite also have individual customized control pads for operating the entire entertainment system, blinds, lighting and even crew communications. luxury just reached a whole new level! Such inspiring and ingenious design is not just limited to the master suite. The guest suites exhibit just the same luxurious finishes and attention to detail as is evident in the rest of the yacht. In order to create a similar notion of space as the master suite, the three lower deck suites open directly out to the central lift lobby, thus maximizing the size of each. Plus, the beds and furniture in all suites are set on plinths giving the impression that they are floating. The more the furniture is elevated, the greater the sense of light and space. With Quinta Essentia, Heesen has applied 30 years of luxury yacht building experience and pushed the boundaries for the future of the industry.
