see it their collection this fall, is evidence that true classics never die. Fashion trends are becoming the art of self-expression. It is not about the brands but what the look that the brand has, represents. Dr. Martens represents the fi rce confid nce that lives in us all. The AW 2013 campaign, “#STANDFORSOMETHING” shot by James Pearson Howes (www.jamespearsonhowes.com) shot 13 unique and diverse individuals such as a up and coming rap artist, make up artist, singer, graduate student. Whether you are a man or woman, Dr. Marten’s fall collection brings both genders to the 21st Century through modernized classic looks. It is all about designing your own look to communicate the message you want to. Want to punk up your style?

Well the Quad

Retro Britain 20 Eye Boot for Women, is a great addition to a mini skirt, shorts or even leggings. Blend the hard look of Dr. Martens with softer feminine pieces, add a bold lip color, nail color and you now have a “Punk Chic” look. If you desire a softer more natural look, the “1914 W Boot” is a perfect addition to your favorite pair of jeans and T-Shirt to create more of a girl next door, feel.

season. Being stylish today is not about following trends but

gone. Classic is always safe and tends to stay in your wardrobe

Comfy Chic - Every woman has that favorite sweater. You know, that one sweater that feels as good as it looks. When I looked at the Pink Crew Neck Jumper by McO matched with the Coral Mini Skirt by Almost Famous (Page 55), I was like yes that is it. That is that look that makes a woman look fl wless, effortlessly. Fashion is more than cut and color, fabrics and texture makes a lot of difference. And as the months get colder in some parts of the world, fabric will be an important aspect in choosing the right wardrobe ensemble. Curb Styles - Okay, so you’re not looking for a new suit or for an outfit for your favorite dance club. What do you wear when you are going to brunch with girlfriends, lunch with that cute guy you met or just to the park to read your favorite book? If you want to go more, punk chic, try the Grey Cropped Puffer Jacket by Label Lab with the Grey T-Shirt with Embellished Neck line

for multiple seasons. Pied a Terre’s Black High Neck Embellished Dress (Page 58), gives that sexy, feminine look that is conservative enough for the offic , but added with different accessories can look great on a date as well. Biba’s Blue Printed Top along with the Grey Quilted Pencil Skirt by Pied a Terre (Page 59) or the Navy Spot Jacquard Jacket and Cigarette Trousers by Dickens & Jones with the Star Print Shirt by S’nob de Noblesse (Page 60) are also great buys for the office or other affairs that require a more professional and business look. Remember House of Fraser’s Look Book is just a reference of some of the best pieces from the A/W 2013 Collections that they carry. Mixing and matching to get the desired look you desire for yourself will allow you to create your own personal portfolio. There are so many laws in fashion, but when it comes to being yourself, you can make or break whichever one you’d like.

This season, the trends this season is very intense. The woman, in which most designers and labels are creating, seems to be a strong woman with confid nce in herself and in her sexuality. Sometimes in fashions it’s not about seasons, trends or even brands, it’s about the expression of the woman herself. AFIRA is one of those fashion houses that focus on creating clothes that express the art of women, true queens.

Hot on the RUNWAY.. This season, conservative goes PUNK. Simplistic looks are now bold and vibrant with added prints, color blocking and textures. Hats are now making a bigger statement than ever before, and fashion labels such as Kenneth Cole are remarking there position, once gain. Trends to look for: Prints: Once again, prints are at the forefront, but this time you can put away the florals and think of checkered, poka dots, zig zags, and monochromatic.

KENNETH COLE A/W 2013

Leather: What is it about leather that adds that the needed flair to any look? Maybe it is our increased desire to punk it up a little bit. Add a leather jacket to a pencil skirt. Wear your favorite black leather thigh high boots with those leggings you’ve been thinking of buying. The possibilities are endless. B oth Vivenne Tam and Kenneth Cole’s Fall 2013 Runway Shows, featured punk chic looks, blending a conservative, modern woman feel with a hint of rebellious additives. Tommy Hillfiger went more for a mod look, which is also a rising trend, once again this fall.

Miami Beach is well known for its international party scene and its beautiful resorts, but Fashion might not be on the top of many people’s list as #1 Attractions. However, over the years, Miami has consistently attracted major Fashion Designers Boutiques and Department Stores such as Alexander McQueen, Herve Ledger, H&M, Zaras to name a few. I am Femme Fabulous cretes a new platform for real women who love fashion to be introduced to a combination of their favorite main stream collections as well as those labels on the rise.

IFF I am Femme Fabulous Women Empowerment Weekend & Green Fash-

ion Miami debuted at the Deauville Beach Resort in Miami Beach, FL

July 12 – 13, 2013, a week before Mercedes Benz Miami Beach Swim Week.

The purpose of the event was to empower women

through different platforms within Entrepreneurship, Entertainment and of course Fashion. Green Fashion Miami served as an extension of

the event to showcase Eco-Sustainable Fashion Designers and bring awareness to ECOMB (Environmental Coalition of Miami and the Beaches), a not for profit organization. The event also focused on raising funds and awareness for Women in Distress of Broward County. One of the features of IFF & Green Fashion Miami was the runway shows. On Friday and Saturday, 5 Fashion Designers (Art of Shade, Pure of Heart, Samy Gicherman, Chong Cha and Lila Nikole), presented their collections. A combination of the beautiful pieces, Sponsors: Michelle Pommier Models, Mc2 Models, Paul Mitchell Hair School, Fashion Show Production by Charlene Meriedy of Fashion Show Innovations, Executive Production by Brian Z. Guertin of Event Visions and Founder Carol Moda of Carol Moda Creative, Inc. and many other sponsors lead to a very stylish success. Every designer’s collection has his or her own personality. Samy Gicherman is creates pieces for the elegant and glamorous woman. Art of Shade is exactly what they call themselves, a true example of art. The pieces are reconstructed and recycled designs, resulting in feminine shapes in an artistic form. Pure of Heart is what a woman wears when she wants to look effortlessly beautiful. The collection is constructed from eco-friendly materials and is as comfortable to wear as they look. Lila Nikole, continues to design electrifyingly colorful swim wear, that connect chic and confid nce. NY designer, Chong Cha, focuses her collections on “timeless beauty.” Who needs seasons when the collection is made for whenever and wherever you would like to wear them.
