Dear Friends. It is with a heavy heart that I have discerned that it is time for me to give up the position of Kids Hope Director. I have loved this position and relationship that we have built with Christenberry Elementary. In 14 years we have had just over 50 members involved in a one on one mentoring relationship. We have also had numerous folks help as we celebrate and support the teachers and staff through special luncheons, snacks, mail box goodies and class room support. As I step down, Ruth Crowley and Lee Ley will be stepping up to lead our expressions of love and support for Christenberry staff, teachers and students. Ruth will focus on staff support and Lee will concentrate on teacher/student support. Both Lee & Ruth were mentors for several years in the early days of partnership with Christenberry and have continued to participate in teacher/ staff support through the years. They will both fit well in this new role and I am extremely grateful for their willingness to step up and lead our support of our wonderful community school. Ruth and Lee would love to hear from you! You can reach Ruth at 865-405-3727 and Lee at 423-341-5337. Opportunities to serve and be Christ’s hands and feet are as simple as once or twice a school year, once or twice a month, or even weekly. I so appreciate your support through the years. I am not going away, just stepping down from the leadership position. Peace,

Thea

"Brothers Engaged in Enriching Relationships (B.E.E.R) is planning to meet on Tuesday, July 26th at 6pm at Schultz Brau. In case people are unaware, Schultz Brau has food as well, so even if folks aren't interested in alcoholic offerings there are things to enjoy! These summer meetings won't be as topic-driven especially since folks may occasionally be traveling and are instead an opportunity for fellowship and fun! [However, if folks would like to discuss a particular topic with the group they should feel free to email B.E.E.R. co-leaders Jordan Baker or Garry Menendez prior to the meeting. OR, just bring it up!] We hope to see you there!" Garry – menedez@utk.edu or Jordan – jentolyn@gmail.com

Sunday, August 7 During both worship services, we will offer a special blessing for all students and teachers as they begin a new school year
