This unit introduces the student to the realm of Artificial Intelligence applied to games where the automation of non-player characters and other inhabitants of the game world makes it a more realistic experience. This unit expands upon the programming skills obtained during the degree to cater for advanced topics such as search algorithms, decision-making and machine learning. At the end of this unit the student will have acquired the responsibility and autonomy to: — design Artificial Intelligence for Games; — choose the appropriate technique for game projects requiring intelligent systems. The assessment for this unit will be computed using the following weighting system: — 40% Assessed Coursework — 60% Examinations
