This unit aims to give students more awareness of the legal and professional environment within the industry. At the end of this unit the student will have acquired the responsibility and autonomy to: — understand the ethics related to a computing context, focusing on security; — appreciate the different roles and responsibilities of professionals with the computing field in general and more specifically in the security scenario; — understand the regulations and standards related to computer security and how these impact the computing professional; — recognise business compliance practices within the industry; — understand practices related to consulting and contracting within the industry; — interpret and evaluate basic financial statements and budgets; — recognise the impact of computer security on human society and organisations. The assessment for this unit will be computed using the following weighting system: — 30% Assessed Coursework — 70% Examinations
