In this unit, the student is able to work on an extensive project in an area of specialisation as identified by the student. This is a good opportunity for the student to show a solid understanding of topics covered throughout the programme. The student is required to conduct appropriate in-depth research within the respective field and area of the problem being tackled, identifying the appropriate background, literature, challenge and contribution. The work is documented appropriately in substantial depth. At the end of this unit the student will have acquired the responsibility and autonomy to: — develop one’s ability to work on a large project; — demonstrate originality, creativity and perseverance; — manage time and work to deadlines; — conduct appropriate research as necessary; — fully document the work carried out in the project. The assessment for this unit will be computed using the following weighting system: — 70% Assessed Coursework — 30% Examinations
