This unit aims to give students a more detailed insight in the factors relating to the management of security systems within companies. At the end of this unit the student will have acquired the responsibility and autonomy to: — understand the considerations when establishing a security system; — understand the importance of a thorough risk analysis and risk management policies when considering a security system; — recognise the processes and importance of internal and external auditing; — learn about the different types of cyber crimes; — understand the different cyber laws currently in place; — learn about the different standards related to security, such as the ISO 27000 family; — appreciate the need for business continuity planning; — appreciate different company policies attributed to security; — appreciate the importance of good and regular training of personnel. The assessment for this unit will be computed using the following weighting system: — 30% Assessed Coursework — 70% Examinations
