Tip: Now is a good time to familiarise yourself again with each of the stages involved in construction so you will know what to expect as your home is built.

The next steps With building just around the corner, the real action is about to begin. By now, you may have already settled on a specific home design and builder or be close to making this important decision.
Here are some real life suggestions we’ve received from past Stockland customers on what to expect in the coming months:
Revisit the finished Display Village homes as a little reminder about why you’re doing this.
¢ Make sure you take plenty of “before, during and after” pictures to remember how your home came to life.
Consider leaving something special under your foundations, such as a lucky coin or your children’s names (with your builder’s permission).
Spend some time in your future community on weekends for the same reason.
Share your home building journey with family and friends – they will be very excited for you.

Questions to ask your builder We encourage you to ask as many questions as you want to make your new home building journey as smooth as possible. As you prepare for the start of construction, here are some more specific topics you might like to discuss with your builder: When will you be able to start building my home? How long do you expect the building process will take? What happens if I want to make changes to my home after signing the building contract? When will I receive the first request for a progress payment on construction? Who will be my building supervisor and what is their contact information? How can I safely view my home while it is being built Will you let me know if there are delays caused by bad weather or something else?
