Have some fun...
in the sun!
If you thought interior design was just for interiors, you’d be very much mistaken… gardens are THE big trend this summer. We’ve all had to change the way we live during the past few months. Thankfully the sun has been shining for quite a bit of it and we’ve all spent more time in our gardens in recent times. Creating a space that helps us unwind, and, as lock down gradually eases, a space where we can start entertaining again.
ADD LIGHTING TAKE YOUR PARTYING INT THE NIGHT
Egg chairs are popular and add a quirky element, and can be found at many retailers. And when it comes to dining, there’s something for everyone, with bistro tables for two, and some lovely rattan sets for larger spaces. Designers are creating furniture that looks good but can also withstand the British weather. If you’re looking for something a little different then check out You-Tube for some innovative uses of reclaimed pallets for outdoor furniture - good for the environment too.
Let’s start with garden furniture as there’s some great items on the market. In recent years we’ve seen more stylish garden furniture coming onto the market and some of the newest designs wouldn't look out of place in the most modern of homes.
Barbecues and outdoor entertaining are an ever increasing trend that have seriously moved on to now include outdoor kitchens and pizza ovens. Whatever your choice, there’s nothing nicer than the smell of food being cooked outside – plus there’s usually less washing up!

WE RECENTLY TEAMED UP WITH PIZZA OVENS HARROGATE AND COZY P’S PIZZAS AND HELD A PIZZA WEEKEND AT THE WILLOWS DEVELOPMENT WITH ANY LUCKY PURCHASERS THAT WEEKEND BAGGING THEIR OWN OUTDOOR BBQ, COURTESY OF STONEBRIDGE HOMES!
Whether you have a small garden, or just want to create a new look without having to invest in major landscaping, creating a garden with potted plants is a quick and easy way to update your space. We love the idea of growing herbs and vegetables and ‘home grown’ has really come to the fore recently.
If you’re looking to ring the changes by injecting some colour, there’s a great range of outdoor cushions. Again, many retailers have good options, and the likes of Wayfair sell reasonably priced outdoor rugs that give a nice feel underfoot as well as making the outside feel very much part of the inside. Ramp it up with candles (citronella keeps the bugs at bay), and jars of wild flowers. Lighting adds to any scheme and you can enjoy outdoor space long into the evening if you get the lighting right – include a mix of mains-connected lighting with fairy lights and solar powered options. Throw in a fire pit and you’ve got a great outdoor space well into the night.

3 new developments open their brand new doors!

HAWTHORN GRANGE, MENSTON When designing Hawthorn Grange, we knew that we wanted to create a new development that had people at the heart of it. The result is a desirable collection of three, four and five-bedroom homes to suit a range of buyers from those looking for their first home, professionals, retirees or down-sizers and homes for local couples, growing families or those new to the area. Hawthorn Grange will bring together an intergenerational community and offer a real sense of pride in where people live.
The attractive, landscaped entrance, character homes and planned open spaces blend seamlessly with the area’s green surroundings, creating a traditional village feel, with historic towns such as Ilkley close by. Hawthorn Grange offers residents the opportunity to make memories and build a secure, happy future, and will become a delightful place to call home for generations to come.

KINGSLEY FARM PHASE Kingsley Farm is a lovely development and is ideally located to the east of Harrogate town centre, giving easy access to the town and its fascinating history and modern-day culture. With excellent schools, vast open spaces of greenery, and local facilities it’s easy to see why this scheme is so sought after. Communities have never been more important than they are now and phase one of Kingsley Farm has blossomed into a welcoming and flourishing development with a distinct

We are proud that we are helping to build communities that embrace spirit, character, and pride and these are vital elements in designing schemes where people want to work, live and play. The second phase embraces the community feel and includes contemporary, spacious homes, all carefully designed both inside and out and part of our new collection of 2, 3, 4 and 5-bedroom homes. SPENCER GRANGE, SKIPTON Spencer Grange is located on the eastern edge of this sought after area, in the highly desirable market town of Skipton. The quaint town, nestled in rural surroundings, combines all of the convenience of local amenities and services that one would expect from today’s modern living. Indeed, it is a town that is well known for its welcoming and courteous nature. Surrounded by beautiful scenery, Skipton is locally regarded as the ‘Gateway to the Dales’. Spencer Grange, named after Thomas Spencer, the co-founder
of Marks and Spencer, has been thoughtfully designed to blend seamlessly into the area. Having a sense of place is very important to Stonebridge Homes and we take pride in marrying contemporary living with traditional settings. As with all of our schemes, we take great care to understand who might want to live there. Our properties appeal to many, from first time buyers and families to those wishing to pursue a more leisurely way of life in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside.

This year’s theme for mental health awareness week is ‘nature’.
HOW CAN YOU LOOK AFTER YOUR MENTAL HEALTH?

1,600 SQ FT
Your flexible friend - a town house!
A town house is becoming an increasingly popular choice for buyers who are looking for flexible living accommodation that appeals to multi-generational families
Our St. Andrews house type offers much to a wide variety of purchaser. From families with teenagers, to those who need a separate floor for a family member such as a parent who is perhaps living on their own. And at over 1,600 sq ft of spacious living, you won’t be compromising on size either. Often town houses feature a smaller third floor, but the additional floor in our St. Andrews matches the footprint of the rest of the property, leaving buyers to enjoy three generous floors, all with good sized rooms.
ST ANDREWS TOWN HOUSE
There are so many benefits to these flexible spaces including:
A space that will grow with you As our priorities and lifestyles change over the years, most of us look for a home that is able to grow with us. A town house offers a very adaptable layout that can adjust to growing children, the arrival of a new family member, guests staying over and even hobbies such as a craft room, music room or man cave. Town houses offer the space for people to modify rooms as their needs change; from creating a home study/office (which for many of us has become an essential), a fitness room, family media room or children’s playroom – the possibilities are endless.
Keeping everyone happy (we know how difficult that can be!) For families with teenagers, the additional floor and separate living spaces can be transformed into a
gaming and/or multi-media room, and if you’re feeling generous, they could even have a whole ground floor to themselves with a study/chill-out area and bedroom.
Having guests/family to stay The ground floor is the perfect choice for those buyers who are taking care of an elderly family member who wants to retain their independence yet feel that they’ve got a dedicated space away from the hustle and bustle (and noise!) of family life. For many buyers, keeping all of their loved ones under one roof is often a significant consideration
when looking for a new home, and town houses certainly offer a lot in this respect. The lounge has French doors overlooking the rear, turfed garden and leads to a patio, perfect for relaxing on sunny days. The morning room/bedroom boasts a lovely space, being light and airy and where you can watch the world go by from the feature bay window. The utility room is perfect for keeping a kettle, toaster and microwave and could easily be adapted to a kitchen.
We are building the St Andrews at Hawthorn Grange, Menston and Spencer Grange, Skipton.

Laura Ashley colours 2021 What ’s hot in the kitchen? Laura Ashley are an iconic brand and their kitchens certainly live up to their desirable reputation
ANTHRACITE AND PINK Because kitchens can be fun too Laura Ashley have introduced a dusky pink to their range and here they’ve paired it with anthracite to give a very modern look.
ANTHRACITE AND PUMICE In our Aston show home we’ve installed a Laura Ashley Bedale kitchen and married anthracite on the island, with pumice for the remainder of the cabinets.
NATURAL GREENS Greens are everywhere right now; not only are these shades calming, but they bring lovely, natural colours into the home and it seems like it’s the ‘in’ colour for 2021 with Farrow & Ball’s Sap Green been highlighted as a colour of the year too. Laura Ashley have introduced two green shades into their range: bottle green (shown here) and Atlantic green, which is a lighter tone. OUR HOUSE | YOUR HOME

Kingsley Farm, Harrogate Second phase of new house types now released Since 1973, Porcelanosa has firmly established itself as the leading force for wall and floor tiles
Phase one of Kingsley Farm is now complete and demand for the new phase of high specification 2, 3, 4 and 5-bedroom properties is high. The development offers an attractive residential scheme, and like the majority of Stonebridge schemes, this new phase is tailored to encourage community interaction and is close to excellent local services that give plenty of opportunities for neighbours to come together. We’ve enjoyed seeing this phased development come to fruition and transform into a thriving community. We know from feedback that
residents love living here. As well as providing quality homes, new developments bring employment and economic benefits to the area, keeping local people employed and helping businesses to prosper. The shops and services nearby offer everything you could need from lovely sandwiches and cakes, to locally owned services including a dental practice and opticians. This area will certainly prosper for many years to come. t: Donna on 0113 357 1134 e: kingsleyfarm@stonebridgehomes.co.uk
