After a decade of planning, design and construction, TELUS Spark - Calgary’s New Science Centre, opened its doors in the fall of 2011. TELUS Spark is a place for people of all ages and abilities to let go and embrace the desire to explore and discover science, technology and art. THE CHALLENGE Calgary’s new Science Centre has many different features and exhibit areas, including the Creative Kid’s Museum. This area offers hands-on activities designed for children under nine and connects visitors to the power of creativity and curiosity in a playful, safe environment. The customer required a seamless flooring system that would be safe, easy to clean and also visually appealing.
THE STONHARD SOLUTION The Stonhard Team suggested a system of Stonshield HRI and Stonseal GS7. Stonshield HRI is textured, safe flooring system that is long-lasting, stylized and easy to clean. It provides superior performance with an ultra-slip resistant surface, ensuring protection from slips and falls. Aesthetically, Stonshield also offers unlimited design capabilities and is available in a wide range of patterns and colours. Stonseal GS7 is a high performance coating designed to improve cleanability, increase stain resistance and abrasion resistance. It helps ensure an easily cleaned surface for simple maintenance.
