The Stonhard Construction Solutions team installed 85,000 square feet of StonDeck XD2 in the underground parking garage of a new Government Building in Gatineau, Québec. StonDeck was chosen for this LEED project as it provides a functional and aesthetically pleasing solution while helping to achieve the desired level of LEED certification. Stonhard undertook all aspects of waterproofing including, surface preparation with their in-house Blastrac Crew, treatment of cracking and system installation. StonDeck XD2 is a flexible, solvent-free car park deck coating system which provides a crack bridging, waterproof wearing
surface for indoor covered parking decks, underground parking garages and walkways. It cosmetically enhances parking facilities while reducing tire noise and provides a lighter, safer environment for both vehicles and pedestrians. StonDeck XD2 is suitable for both refurbishment and new construction projects. The parking area is often the first point of call for a visitor to any public, private or commercial building. It is the “front door” of the building, while at the same time serving its primary functional role. There is no doubt that first impressions count and appearance, ease of use, signage, bright lighting and clear direction markings all help to make a car park a more positive, safer environment for the car owner and foot traffic alike.
