Stonhard Construction Solutions, in conjunction with the Engineering Team at Toronto Pearson Airport recently undertook a Joint Stabilizer installation on the concrete aprons located on the approach to Gate C25. This area is on the wheel path run into the docking facility for passenger aircraft, this particular joint could be shut down without impacting other gates or surrounding areas.

Following the initial testing, the positions of the Stabilizers were plotted. In this instance we tried two differing configurations of Stabilizer Placement, one at half the normal spacing and the balance at the normal spacing, but with two stabilizers placed The movement of the joint was assessed both prior per hole. This was due to the thickness of the slab to the application of the Joint Stabilizers and post which was measured at 13 inches.
