OUR MOTTO Potest Qui Vult! (He who Wills, Can!)
the school rally
All through our college, a voice is resounding, Promptly respond to your duty’s sweet call.
Harken you all for the trumpet is sounding, Your Mater’s proclaiming her watchword to all.
Chorus
Forward her children dear, ever with hearts sincere, Render with joy to your Mater her due. All that is vile reject, heaven will e’er protect Sons of St Patrick’s valiant and true
Onward and upward in life’s earnest battle, Joyously bearing the brunt of the fight Nobly forgiving, for all that may pain you, And bravely defending the cause of the right.
Chorus
Forward her children dear, ever with hearts sincere, Render with joy to your Mater her due.
All that is vile reject, heaven will e’er protect Sons of St Patrick’s valiant and true
BROTHER'S FOREWORD
BROTHER COLLIN WEE
FSC, BBM, PBM
2024 marks a significant period in the history of St Patrick’s School. Our 'O' Level results were the best in 10 years! We believe that whatever a student does, he should set high standards for himself and strive to be the best he can.
I am sure we can all see the many changes in the school’s physical environment. This is our endeavour to provide the best secondary education for our students in a ‘sacred space’ for both studies and recreation.
Patricians, carry yourselves with dignity and maturity as you look out for both yourself and others. Within these pages of our school magazine, I hope you see how these important school years play an integral part in moulding and forming the necessary qualities of heart, mind, body, and soul that will enable you to achieve your best. Most importantly, do not look upon your school life as just a long, intense period of study and sacrifice, but rather, as a time when you thrive as a result of friendship, spiritual guidance, and academic opportunities provided to you by the school.
May this magazine be a long-standing testimony to the happy and formative years a student spends in St Patrick’s.
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Forget the former things, do not dwell on the past. See I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
Isaiah 43:18-19
Dear Students, Staff and Friends of St Patrick’s School,
Following our 90th anniversary celebrations, we began 2024 with a renewed spirit, intent on writing another illustrious chapter of our story.
So that each boy is known, valued and flourishes, we are committed to
• streamline processes where appropriate,
• strengthen programmes where necessary,
• shine in areas where possible, utilising technology as an enabler and accelerator.
Our mission to educate, enlighten and empower our youth is premised on the belief that the heart of education is the education of the heart. Thus, we have especially enriched our community service programme in the hope that Love in Action is a way of life for us all.
This Yearbook, lovingly compiled by Ms Geraldine Quek and the Publications Committee showcases a wide spectrum of creative skills. It is a heartwarming account of an exhilarating year, and the snapshots and anecdotes contained herein reveals our aspirations and highlights our achievements. Enjoy it!
To the class of 2024:
What you are is God’s gift to you. What you become is your gift to God. Be Good. Feel Good. Do Good. Potest Qui Vult!
May God bless all of us with peace, happiness and success.

CARING COMMUTER CHAMPION
JONATHAN LIM JIE LIANG | 1V
At first, I felt nervous about approaching commuters, but I quickly gathered my thoughts on how to encourage them to spread acts of kindness. Speaking to friendly commuters who listened attentively gave me the confidence to continue. While some commuters were busy or faced language barriers, I persevered to the best of my ability. I didn’t give up, and kept asking others if they had a moment to hear about helping those in need. Through this experience, I learned to approach others without hesitation and confidently share the message that everyone can be a Caring Commuter Champion.
Everyone can be a Caring Commuter Champion.
CLIMATE ACTION HEROES
MUHAMMAD FARIL LEE BIN
MUHAMMAD HABAIL | 2V
This was an unforgettable experience as we tackled tough weeds in the garden, working together to protect the beautiful flowers beneath. The value of teamwork was key, as we pulled out stubborn creepers that harm the environment. Together, we can be climate action heroes!
TAN YU BIN | 2R
Planting a tree with my partner gave me a deep sense of connection to nature, especially as we bonded through the experience. Though we faced challenges, with the guidance of our teachers, we learned how teamwork and perseverance lead to success.
NIKHIL KRIPALANI | 2I
Planting three trees today was a rewarding highlight, knowing I was contributing to Singapore’s goal of planting 1 million trees by 2030. The hardest part was digging through soil that felt as tough as concrete, but persistence paid off. Keep a positive mindset—challenges often turn into fulfilling experiences when you least expect it.

INTERGENERATIONAL CHAMPIONS
MARCEL JEREMIAH CHANDIRAMANI | 3E
Feeling both nervous and excited about teaching an elderly woman a new skill, I embraced the opportunity, though she didn’t warm up to us at first. Despite initial challenges and several rejected ideas, we eventually connected through a fun game of Heads Up, sharing laughter and creating joyful memories. The gratitude she showed made the experience truly rewarding. My advice - embrace the unexpected with confidence, and focus on making others feel comfortable—you'll create meaningful connections, even if it takes time.
Embrace the unexpected with confidence, and focus on making others feel comfortable.
ACTIVE RECESS PROGRAMME
St. Patrick’s School launched the Active Recess Programme to promote healthier lifestyles, social interaction, and mental wellbeing through a variety of activities, from sports to board games. Students and teachers have enjoyed engaging in games like table tennis, foosball, Boggle, and Jenga, creating memorable experiences while developing skills such as critical thinking and teamwork. This initiative has also strengthened the school community, fostering connections and friendly competition. We look forward to building on its success and enhancing our school environment further.
Foosball: The Tabletop Battle Royale
JOSIAH HO | 2SD
Foosball is our go-to break during recess. It’s competitive but fun, and it gets everyone laughing and cheering. Plus, it's a great way to meet new people.
Table Tennis: The Quick Reflex Game
SKYE LEE | 2T
Table tennis is our ultimate stressbuster. It's fast, fun, and perfect for playing multiple rounds in a short time. Plus, we even get to challenge our teachers!
Football: The Universal Language
DONOVAN CAI | 2V
Playing football is the highlight of our day. It’s competitive, it’s physical, and it’s a great way to bond with friends. We’re always excited to play, no matter how busy we are.

SPS LESSON HIGHLIGHTS
Teaching Boys Well
Just as chefs create unique flavours through various ingredients, our teachers strive to come up with the perfect recipe to teach boys well! Here's a highlight of some of the many lessons our teachers have designed with thought and creativity to ensure Patricians learn well.
MS CHAN HUI LUN | CHEMISTRY
Ms Chan brought chemistry to life by using the Johnstone Triangle, helping students visualise elements, compounds, and mixtures with a creative twist. Through a hands-on lesson, students built models with Legos to represent particles on a microscopic level, then transformed them into chemical symbols and formulas. This fun and engaging approach made a complex topic both enjoyable and memorable.
MR SAYED HUD, MDM KAREN PEREIRA | ART
In an inspiring lesson by Mdm Pereira and Mr Syed, students brought their creative ideas to life using the Lifelapse App to make short films. After exploring the app's features, they received guidance on theme selection and film planning, ensuring a smooth process. This fun, hands-on approach allowed students to express their creativity while gaining valuable skills in digital storytelling and filmmaking.
MS CHARISSA CHIA, MISS YEO HUI WEN | MUSIC
Ms Chia and Miss Yeo guided students through a structured ukulele introduction, starting with the basics of holding the instrument and advancing to strumming techniques using a guitar pick. By the end of the lesson, students could confidently play 1-2 songs with simple strumming patterns.
MR SAMUEL TAY | COMPUTING
Mr Tay engages students in hands-on, unplugged computer science activities that focus on searching and sorting algorithms to build Computational Thinking skills. Using visual and authentic learning principles, these interactive activities offer experiential learning, helping students grasp complex computational concepts in a practical and engaging way.

"The STRIVE values have been the cornerstone of my personal development, guiding my actions, and moulding my character to consistently aim for the best version of myself. Our school motto, "Potest Qui Vult," serves as a powerful reminder that the only limits we face are those we place on ourselves. Remember that if you truly desire something, you have the power to achieve it."
A Treasured Memory
One highlight for me was the 90th anniversary 9km Strive and Stride Walk. It was a great opportunity to bond with my friends and classmates outside of the classroom and it is definitely an experience that will always remind me of the brotherhood and unbreakable bonds I’ve formed during my time in St Pats.
Heartfelt Thanks
I would like to thank Mdm Soh for her unwavering support and unyielding commitment not only to our education, but to our character development too. She has been a beacon of inspiration to us all through the struggles and hardships we have faced during our time in St Pats.
Words To Remember
To all Patricians, success is not final, failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts. Embrace your failures as learning opportunities and recognise your successes as milestones for the hard work you have put in!

WELCOME TO ST. PATRICK'S
MS WANG YIFEI
As an educator, I believe in the power of mutual learning, where I learn as much from my students as they learn from me, fostering a shared journey of discovery. My hope is for each student to embrace challenges as opportunities to flourish, always believing in their potential to create positive change. Beyond the classroom, I find joy in exploring diverse cultures through travel. Each journey presents a new chance to immerse myself in the rich tapestry of human experiences, traditions, and perspectives. I am excited to join the La Sallian family and learn from the experienced teachers here!
MS LEE PEIYI
“You can’t stop a teacher when they want to do something. They just do it.”
- J.D. Salinger, Catcher in the Rye Teachers are tenacious creatures; we persist in all ways to achieve our aims. A teacher is to a student as is a shepherd to his lost sheep. As someone who enjoys learning and trying new things, I hope that I can instil this love for learning in my students and encourage them to apply this to their everyday lives. I am eager to be part of the La Sallian family and look forward to teaching and getting to know all of you.
MR LIU WEILI MR SHARUDIN
Being part of our school, community and La Sallian family fills me with joy and gratitude. In my teaching journey, I sincerely believe that the wages of hard work is success. Remember - teamwork is an open secret for winning. Take heart - always have a smile on your faces and space in your heart for laughter and peace. I am greatly looking forward to enjoying games of Xiang Qi and International Chess and jamming sessions with the students.
I am a SEN Officer because I am passionate about creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students. Through unwavering belief, empathy and individualised teaching strategies, I aim to make a positive impact on my students’ school experience. With the nurturing culture at St Patrick’s School, I endeavour to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with diverse learning needs.
