It has been another exciting week in Year 3!
In our thematic learning, we have continued our work on Egyptian Gods and Goddesses. Our canopic jars have really started to take shape and next week we will be adding intricate detail, based on what we know about the real things!
We revisited our amazing trip to London last week, and used the information we could remember to write an independent recount. In maths we have been learning about angles and sprucing up on our 3D shape knowledge. As you can imagine, there was much excitement when we got the sweets and cocktails out to build our own shapes! Being able to see the vertices and edges clearly, we were able to use descriptive mathematical terminology to describe, identify and categorise the shapes.
Aside from our classroom learning, we had a wonderful afternoon on Tuesday visiting 8-13 and spending the afternoon with our new teachers and seeing our new classrooms. We can’t quite believe it’s almost time to move on!
On Thursday came the hotly anticipated sports day. A huge thank you to Miss Flockhart and her team of helpers for organising such a wonderful event. As you can see from the pictures, we all had a lot of fun.
Phew! What a week.
