Title: Mirror Image Medium: Acrylic paint on canvas, tape, wood, cardboard, paper, glue, screws Size: 12x12 Intention: This work is a 3D piece with a protruding wooden ledge and two cardboard silhouettes. The TV shows a scene from the movie “UP”. The mother mirrors the older gentlemen and the child mirrors the kid: Russell, on the screen. While the child is present in the moment and enjoying the experience; the mother's mind is elsewhere. This piece conveys how when we are older we often have a difficult time being in the here and now opposed to when we are young.

Title: Inverted Medium: Canvas, acrylic pouring medium with liquid silicone Size: 36x36 Intention: This piece is a dirty pour depicting what is happening within oneself. The different colours represent emotions and how they can be clear or highly confusing shown by mixing of colours. However, the yellow outside represents the emotion we often show as armor, in this case happiness.It takes bravery and honesty to allow others to see what we are truly feeling. The cracks in the piece represent the chips in our armor when our emotions get the best of us and come to the surface.

Title: Preconceptions Medium: Acrylic and spray paint on canvas Size: 18x24 Intention: This piece addresses opinion and how although we may have similar objectives, the slightest difference in demeanour can change how others view us as individuals. The two roses represent shared similarities with gold portraying the idea of personal value, the value of others and how it connects people. The black and white background mirrors the yin and yang (the concept of dualism). It also conveys differences and how they may affect the way we are viewed.

Title: Natural Environment Medium: Cardboard, tape, copper, plastic, plastic wrap, fishing wire Size: 12x20 Intention: Garbage has integrated itself into our surroundings through the widespread use of plastic and production of waste. Although this is not ideal, the natural environment is still beautiful and cherished. The hand depicts humanity's role in causing the spread of garbage. The upward motion of the piece coveys how this problem is coming to the surface. However, even if prevented from going further. The impacts will still remain as we could never fully remove all the waste around the world.

Title: Fortuneteller Medium: Acrylic paint on canvas, collage, spray paint, metallic watercolor, glitter, glue, printing paper Size: 12x12 Intention: This piece represents two contrasting views on our planet, in regard to pollution and how it is going to impact our future. The picture on the canvas is a collage of garbage photos taken at dumps, making up the earth. And up top there is a screen that can be pulled down over this image to show a clean earth. The background of this image is gold to show how wealthy polluters and people in power sometimes push this image forward.

Title: Desensitized Medium: Particle board, paper design, laser cutter Size: 14x24 Intention: The purpose of weapons is to cause harm or destruction. However, current media and exposure to weapons and violence have changed the way weapons are viewed. Explicit video games, gun violence and the recreational use of weapons changes the initial association of harm. We are desensitized to the dark origins of these objects. And are less aware of the dangers surrounding them.
