Since its inception in 2006, Lincoln Coin & Bullion has grown into a full-scale Precious Metal Bullion Dealer that serves those who wish to Purchase and Sell 3- to 7-figures of Gold, Silver, Platinum and Palladium Bullion. It also deals in Historic Currency Collections (numismatic coins and bills), including providing quotes and paid appraisals. Lincoln Coin & Bullion does both bullion and currency collections–often if someone has one, they have the other.
Lincoln Coin and Bullion’s main focus is its growth as a company. “Our volume has tripled in the past five years out of necessity,” says Owner Pat Moran. “I’m approaching the five-year mark of taking over the business, and we are in the middle of expanding, renovating and hiring.”
Lincoln Coin & Bullion is Not Your Typical Coin/ Bullion Shop; What Makes Them Unique?
• Private & Secure – Lincoln Coin & Bullion realizes folks often prefer to have a small footprint, to not broadcast their personal business, which is why they are Locked-Door & AppointmentOnly. Lincoln Coin & Bullion keeps only minimal numismatics at its location, to eliminate folks milling about. They keep a decent stock, but any bullion customers order gets shipped to Lincoln Coin & Bullion’s location first for customer examination. In addition to the latest version of the Sigma Tester (with thru-testing), Lincoln Coin & Bullion also has Ultrasonic Testers and an XRF (x-ray).
• On-Hand, First-Rate Bullion Inventory – Lincoln Coin & Bullion provides Walk-in/Walk-out, SeeBefore-You-Buy, and not everything-underthe-sun service. They specialize in a concise, quality selection of inventory, the bullion that effectively does its job. Customers are not shooting themselves in the foot with any of Lincoln Coin & Bullion’s items.
• Informative & Transparent – Lincoln Coin & Bullion tells its customers the things they would want to know, without needing to ask. They let you know just how they get paid (their cost of business, including how they derive their pricing). Lincoln Coin & Bullion’s web listings show quantities and premiums, and their photos are not photo shopped.
Call (402) 327-2853 to arrange an appointment, or email info@lincolncoinandbullion.com for additional information. Lincoln Coin & Bullion looks forward to serving new customers!

To advise safe holiday shopping practices, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) Midwest Plains has launched a newsletter.
The 2024 holiday shopping season is upon us, and BBB is here to help consumers shop safely. With American Thanksgiving occurring later this year on Thursday, November 28, many retailers are preparing by extending store hours and offering early sales to maximize shopping days. Deloitte projects holiday retail sales to increase by up to 3.3%, reaching $1.59 trillion, though inflation may still affect purchasing power.
As online shopping continues to grow—potentially by 9%—so does the risk of online scams. BBB Scam Tracker reported that 41% of scams in 2023 were related to online shopping. Shoppers need to be vigilant, especially with the possibility of product shortages.
BBB is launching a new consumer newsletter offering practical tips for safe shopping, including:
• Always verify the BBB Seal at BBB.org.
• Research products and retailers, and read customer reviews.
• Be cautious of deals that seem too good to be true.
• Look out for fake websites and ensure URLs start with “HTTPS.”
• Use traceable payment methods, such as credit cards, for extra protection.
• Report any suspicious or unsatisfactory purchase experiences to BBB.org or BBB Scam Tracker.
This holiday season, stay informed and stay safe by signing up for BBB’s newsletter and following their expert guidance for a stress-free shopping experience at bbb.org/mwpnewsletter.

Kodjovi Dogbevi PROJECT
Meet Kodjovi Dogbevi, the Director of Connections at Project Harmony
Tell us a little about your business. - Project Harmony, a Child Advocacy Center founded in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1996, is dedicated to protecting vulnerable children and ending child abuse and neglect. Using a nationally recognized, collaborative, and child-focused approach, Project Harmony brings together multiple agencies and community professionals in one place to ensure children are not further victimized by the systems intended to protect them. By coordinating and communicating as a team, these child advocates work effectively to support children and engage the community in creating a safer, stronger future.
How did you get started in the business? - I joined Project Harmony because of my background in Human Services, particularly in Foster Care. In my previous role, I was fortunate to advocate for vulnerable children placed in foster homes, which deepened my commitment to making a difference. I’ve always been drawn to preventive work— supporting families early on to help them avoid entering the child welfare system.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? - The biggest professional challenge I’ve faced is aligning personal values with organizational values. Working in human services and supporting families is more than a job—it’s a calling. No matter how complex regulations, funding constraints or changes may become, we must stay focused on our mission to provide effective, compassionate support to vulnerable children and families.
What has been your most important achievement professionally? My most significant professional achievement is becoming the Director of the Connections program. What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? - Our father, a law enforcement officer, raised us with strong ethical principles and values that will guide us throughout life. So now attorneys in medical malpractice, personal injury, workman’s compensation and product liability hire me to assist them with the medical portion of the case.
How did you get started in the business? - I wanted to use my experience and knowledge to assist the medical community. I did not want to return to school to spend more time away from my family. I found a mentorship program that taught me how to be a legal nurse consultant, start, run and grow my business and market to my ideal clients.

Brandon Souba CENTER SPHERE AND CORE BANK
Meet Brandon Souba, Ambassador at Center Sphere and Treasury Relationship Manager at Core Bank.
Tell us a little about your business. - Being an ambassador for Center Sphere gives me the opportunity to help new and existing members grow in their membership with Center Sphere. Ambassadors work with incoming members to complete the application and understand the pricing options. We also keep current events in front of members so they know they can attend our Meet the Network, Coffee & Connections and Network-wide Social monthly. I have the privilege of being the expert in my personal chapter when it comes to membership and personal growth, as I hold the education seat for the last two years.
How did you get started in the business? - I hold a long history of experience in the networking world. Since I became a commission sales professional selling counter tops, I was part of an organization like Center Sphere as a member and ambassador. When I found my home in the current Center Sphere group I am in, I had the opportunity to become more than just a member, I was offered a position as an ambassador. I truly believe in the value of a structured weekly meeting surrounded by business professionals of all types that can help grow your business in the most effective way. But you truly get out what you put in and I love sharing and showing other members how to put in as much as they can using the structure and tools to get their best ROI.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally?Growth is essential to a strong Center Sphere group! I find the biggest challenge is members assume if someone can use or cannot use Center Sphere for their business and will hold back on inviting them to see a group if they believe they don’t need it for their business. I have had a few situations where I thought I would get a NO from someone if I invited them only to see them at a meeting a few months later. Always offer the opportunity to someone to see the benefits of a meeting and the benefits of the Network and let them make the decision.
What has been your most important achievement professionally? - Fellow members have referred new members to me to have a coffee and help show them how to maximize their membership. I take pride in having a reputation for giving good and tangible advice on networking. I firmly believe to never ask anyone to do something you would not do personally and I take that approach with fellow members. Are there strategies that work that I don’t personally do? Absolutely, but I like the fastest point from A to Z and that is what I share with those I meet. As an example, if a financial planner is not getting any referrals in their group I will see if they have ever asked their group for a million dollar client. Most think it is a crazy ask, but hey if you are not getting results asking for small fish, might as well ask for a big fish! I shared this thought with a fellow member once and he tried it the following week and ended up getting an introduction to a big client that led to closed business. It seems crazy and simple, but something that is what works!
Tell us a little about your family. - I have been married to my amazing wife Liz for 14 years and we have two daughters that keep us busy! Isabel, who is 11 an in club volleyball, and Charlotte who is six and learning to master Taekwondo.
If our readers would like to contact you, how should they do so? - (402) 321-0323 | bsouba@corebank.com

The YMCA of Greater Omaha is proud to announce the receipt of a $20,000 Impact Grant from FNBO to bolster its Quality Childcare for Working Parents initiative at the YMCA Early Learning Centers across the Omaha metro area. This crucial funding comes at a time when Nebraska is facing a childcare crisis that affects families, businesses and the state’s economy.
With demand for affordable, high-quality childcare far outpacing supply, many parents are forced to make difficult choices regarding employment. FNBO's generous grant will enable the YMCA to continue providing much-needed services, helping working families access reliable and enriching childcare that allows them to remain in the workforce. The funding will support the YMCA’s sliding-scale fee structure, which makes childcare more affordable for families who would otherwise struggle to meet the high costs of care.
"Our Early Learning Centers are a vital resource for local families, preparing children for future success and allowing parents to work with peace of mind," said Rebecca Deterding, President and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Omaha. "This funding from FNBO will have a lasting impact on working parents and their children."

CenterPointe’s Campus for Hope (CFH) is a state-licensed, CARF-accredited residential substance use and mental health treatment facility supporting underserved members of the greater Omaha metro community. Last year, 94% of the individuals served had no income. Their co-occurring residential treatment program is designed for a four to six month stay to equip individuals with the skills necessary for successful reintegration into society. Their short-term residential treatment program is a 3542-day program focused on beginning the recovery process and identifying resources that will aid in that process.
In November 2023, CFH added comprehensive co-occurring mental health and substance use evaluations to its services. To access most mental health or substance use services in Nebraska, a recent assessment with a relevant diagnosis and recommendations is required, and these assessments provide the necessary information.
Providing this service helps individuals take the first step toward receiving care. It reduces barriers to care by conducting both mental health and substance use assessments simultaneously, eliminating the need for separate assessments for co-occurring concerns. This allows people to access care more quickly and efficiently.
Since offering this service, they have conducted 126 assessments. These assessments are available whether you intend to receive services at CenterPointe or another organization.
Over the past 50 years, CenterPointe has grown to include over forty programs including mental health and substance use treatment, primary care services, rehabilitation, medication management, 24hour crisis response and housing. Learn more, visit their website at centerpointe.org.

This holiday season, you don’t have to attend an in-person event or fundraiser to make a meaningful difference for cancer patients in need. On Tuesday, December 3, the Heartland Cancer Foundation (HCF) will be participating in Giving Tuesday, a unique opportunity to show virtual support by making a gift of any size to help neighbors who are struggling with transportation and housing costs during their cancer treatment.
Everyday bills like utilities and fuel should never be barriers for those facing cancer, yet many in the community struggle to afford them alongside mounting medical expenses. Your donation can ease these burdens; ensuring patients get the care they need without the added stress of financial worries.
Small contributions make more of a difference than you might think. For example, just $25 covers a roundtrip ride to a critical treatment session.
By participating in Giving Tuesday, you directly support HCF’s mission of providing practical and immediate financial assistance to eligible cancer patients in our community who need extra support. Whether it’s $25 or $100, every donation helps remove the barriers to care, so patients can focus on healing.
Visit heartlandcancerfoundation.org on or near December 3 to contribute. You can support those bravely battling both cancer and financial hardship. Your compassionate contribution could be the spark of hope they desperately need.
The Heartland Cancer Foundation believes no cancer patient should fall behind on treatment because they struggle to afford their everyday expenses. Their mission is to provide practical and immediate financial assistance to eligible cancer patients in the community so they can focus on what matters most: healing. Reach out and donate through their website at heartlandcancerfoundation.org.

Child Saving Institute (CSI) celebrated a significant milestone on Thursday, October 3 during their topping off ceremony for its new $46 million facility. The event marked nearly one year since the groundbreaking of this transformative project.
A topping off ceremony is a longstanding tradition in construction, celebrating the placement of the final steel beam atop a structure. This ceremony, hosted by project partners MCL Construction, TACKarchitects and Project Advocates, highlighted the progress made towards enhancing CSI’s leadership in mental health services, early childhood education and youth support services.
Jaymes Sime, President & CEO of CSI, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “This new facility represents a beacon of hope and a commitment to the future of our community’s children. We are excited to continue our mission of championing what’s best for each child and family.”
Bob Carlisle, Founder & Chairman of MCL Construction, added, “We are honored to once again partner with Child Saving Institute on this important project. Our collaboration in 2007 laid the foundation for a lasting relationship, and we are proud to support CSI’s mission to serve Omaha’s children and families.”
The project is expected to be completed in November 2025 and will continue CSI’s storied legacy of helping Omaha’s children and families. As one of the oldest local nonprofits with a mission solely focused on children and families, they are proud to carry forward this rich tradition and continue to step into the community needs. CSI has secured $44,835,912 of their $46,000,000 fundraising goal and is still engaging donors to help close out the campaign.

On October 4, Angels Among Us (AAU) hosted its annual gala at A View West Shores. An Evening Among Angels: Black Tie Affair was a night to remember: an unprecedented 600 guests united to raise over $510k for the pediatric cancer families residing and/or being treated in Nebraska.
The elegant evening brought together community leaders, advocates and pediatric cancer families from across Nebraska and western Iowa. Attendees enjoyed a night of luxurious views, a decadent dinner experience provided by Salted EDGE and palpable generosity in the room.
The night would not have been possible without the support of Jeremy and Renee Vokt, longtime supporters of AAU, who served as honorary chairs. AAU would also like to thank signature sponsors Aflac, Fusion, KLC Logistics, Renaissance Financial and Truck Center Companies for their contributions to the event.
AAU thanks the generous donors who attended the gala and continue to champion their mission. With increasing costs in everyday life, it’s imperative that AAU assist the pediatric cancer families of Nebraska so that they can take care of what matters most.
AAU is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to provide financial and emotional support to any family whose child is battling pediatric cancer living in or being treated in the state of Nebraska. Since 2006, over 720 families have been supported with over $5 million in financial support. If you are interested in learning more about AAU’s mission, please contact Ashley McMurchie at ashley@ myangelsamongus.org or by calling (402) 934-0999.

Caring for Our Communities (CFOC) created in 2014, and spearheaded by the Jennie Edmundson Foundation, is a communitybased program that connects high-risk, low-income and underserved individuals with local resources to help overcome barriers and regain control of their health and well-being.
In a world where the challenges of food insecurity, housing instability, lack of transportation and systemic inequality create deep divides, CFOC steps in to make a difference, it is a lifeline. With focus on the social determinants of health (SDOH), that so often dictate the quality of life, this initiative embraces the belief that everyone deserves access to care, support and opportunity.
At the heart of CFOC are Community Health Workers (CHWs), true champions of change. By walking alongside those in need, meeting them where they are—both literally and figuratively, the CHWs share a deep understanding of the community and a wealth of knowledge about available resources. They serve as bridges between healthcare systems and the people they serve. The work isn’t just about connecting people to services; it’s about empowering individuals, building trust and fostering hope.
Caring for Our Communities addresses immediate needs and support creating a ripple of positive change, recognizing that health is more than medicine – it’s ensuring every person has the opportunity to thrive. CFOC is reshaping the future for those who need it most, proving that together barriers can be overcome and a brighter, healthier future can be created for all.

Keep Nebraska Beautiful’s Materials Exchange Program was recently named the Waste Diversion Project of the Year at the Nebraska Recycling Council’s annual Fall Conference on Tuesday, September 17. This prestigious recognition highlights the program’s critical role in reducing landfill waste across Nebraska.
Since its inception in 1994, the Materials Exchange Program has diverted over 181,000 tons of materials from landfills, helping businesses and industries across 284 Nebraska communities save $6.9 million in dumping/hazardous waste disposal fees and repurpose or recycle by-products such as plastics, rubber, metals and more.
In the last five years alone, the program also successfully helped 232 schools and nonprofits receive over 10,000 donated items like printers, chairs, file folders and other supplies, saving nonprofit or school participants significant purchasing costs and diverting 290,000 lbs of items from Nebraska landfills!
The Materials Exchange Program is a free service that connects businesses looking to either source or discard reusable materials. Through this initiative, Keep Nebraska Beautiful helps facilitate sustainable partnerships that promote waste reduction, ensuring materials are either repurposed in production or recycled for other uses.
The program’s impact is not only a testament to Keep Nebraska Beautiful’s commitment to sustainability but also a reflection of how collaborative efforts can lead to significant environmental and economic benefits.

This November during National Diabetes Awareness Month, Breakthrough T1D encourages everyone to get screened for type 1 diabetes (T1D). T1D is a chronic autoimmune disease in which your body’s immune system attacks the insulin-producing cells in the pancreas. Insulin is an essential hormone that helps the body turn food into energy. People living with type 1 diabetes must take insulin by injection or insulin pump to survive.
Most people who are diagnosed with it have no family history. A simple blood test can identify people at risk by looking for markers in their blood called autoantibodies. These autoantibodies signal that the body’s immune system is attacking the insulin producing cells in the pancreas.
Thanks to advances in research and a better understanding of the human immune system, they can now detect risk for T1D many years before the onset of symptoms. This makes it possible to prevent serious illness that often comes with a T1D diagnosis. Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) Early Detection—their education and awareness program will arm you with the information you need to understand why early detection is important, how to participate and resources when you receive the results, including an opportunity to take part in preventive treatment or a clinical trial.
Early detection can be conducted through your doctor’s office or a research study. Visit BreakthroughT1D.org/earlydetection to learn more or call the Nebraska & Iowa Chapter at (402) 397-2873.
As Breakthrough T1D drives toward curing T1D, they help make everyday life better for the people who face it. Visit breakthrought1d. org for more information.

Midlands Community Foundation (MCF) is excited to bring back its MCF Matching Charitable Program beginning on Giving Tuesday, December 3, and ending January 6, 2025.
For years, MCF has provided donors a simple, powerful and highly personal approach to giving. As the end of 2024 approaches, MCF once again looks forward to helping donors accomplish their charitable objectives.
Under the Matching Charitable Program, MCF will provide matching funds for NEW contributions made to existing and newly created Affiliated General, Designated, Donor Advised, Field of Interest and Scholarship Funds. Matching donations will be made on a dollar-fordollar basis up to a limit of $5,000 per individual donor, and subject to a maximum of $100,000 of matching dollars being available for all MCF funds. If more than $100,000 is contributed to all MCF funds, the matching dollars will be pro-rated among such donors based on the total contributions made. Matching dollars are for donations only. Charitable fund event sponsorships and/or event tickets are not eligible for matching dollars.
Last year, 1,124 donors raised more than $1.8 million, with $692,978 qualifying for matching funds, to support the missions of 111 charitable funds established at MCF.

More than 4,000 students representing 43 schools across Greater Nebraska have overwhelmingly indicated their penchant for small communities according to five years of cumulative data released by Nebraska Community Foundation (NCF) and the Center for Public Affairs Research (CPAR) at the University of Nebraska - Omaha.
NCF and CPAR began the Nebraska Youth Survey initiative in 2020 in an effort to better understand the priorities and perspectives of middle and high school students living in communities from Diller (population 260), to Norfolk (population 25,928).
Feedback has remained consistent over the past five years, often with increasing favorability for rural communities over time. Key findings taking into account all 4,063 responses gathered since 2020 include:
Students prefer small towns and report no stigma attached to living in rural places. When asked about ideal community size, students most often answer “small like my hometown.” A staggering 73% said there is no negative stigma with returning to or staying in the place you live now.
Their safety is a top priority. Students have selected safety from violence and theft, good schools and proximity to family as the top three most important factors, in that order, for five consecutive years. Bullying (both online and in-person) is a common occurrence among Nebraska youth with a cumulative 44% reporting they have experienced it.
Many Young Nebraskans want to remain in the state. Of the over 4,000 students surveyed, 59% say they are somewhat or extremely likely to live in the area they live now as an adult.
Findings from the Nebraska Youth Survey have been used extensively over the years by Nebraska Community Foundation’s network composed of 270 communities and 1,500 volunteers. For instance, only 34% of student respondents have agreed with the statement “I play a role in this community” since the survey began. In response, volunteers across the NCF network have been devising numerous strategies to better engage young people.
“Our extensive youth survey work is helping NCF and the thousands of leaders we work with build communities of choice for the leaders of tomorrow,” said Jeff Yost, president and CEO of Nebraska Community Foundation.

It really is an investment for any group in Omaha who strives for more performance from their employees.”
Fowling is the combination of bowling and football; players throw footballs at bowling pins, and the first team to knock down the other team’s pins wins! When planning any gathering or special holiday occasion, finding ways to make it memorable is always a top priority. One popular and increasingly essential element for creating a fun and engaging atmosphere is the photobooth!
Photobooths are excellent ice-breakers. They encourage guests who might not know each other well to interact and bond over the shared experience of taking fun photos. Whether it’s a family reunion or a corporate event, photobooths help break down social barriers and foster a more relaxed and friendly atmosphere!
In today’s digital age, having a photobooth with social media integration can create a buzz both during and after the event. Guests can share their photos instantly, increasing the visibility of your event and generating excitement online. It’s a great way to keep the party going beyond the physical space and reach a wider audience.
One of the biggest advantages of a photobooth is the personalized keepsakes it offers. Customizable photo strips or prints with your event’s date, names, or a special message make for memorable souvenirs. Guests leave with a tangible reminder of the event, which they’re likely to cherish long after the celebration ends!
Planning a holiday event can be cumbersome, but FotoFunSpot has dozens of photobooths to add to the special day! FotoFunSpot’s state-of-the-art booths are sure to keep the business’ laughs going and the memories fresh for years to come.

Checklist and suggestions for Elevated Hosting to create a holiday event that will be remembered by associates or family members for the next decade!
The willingness of America’s veterans to sacrifice for our country has earned them our lasting gratitude.
Veterans Day stands as a testament to the bravery and sacrifices made by countless American service members throughout history. The holiday’s origins trace back to November 11, 1918, when an armistice was signed between the Allied powers and Germany, marking the end of World War I. The moment—at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month—became a symbol of peace and a day to remember those who fought for it. In 1919, President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed November 11 as Armistice Day to honor the World War I soldiers, and in 1938, it became an official holiday. However, the scope broadened after World War II and the Korean War, leading President Dwight D. Eisenhower to rename it Veterans Day in 1954, to honor all U.S. military Veterans, past and present.
As we observe Veterans Day each year, it’s a chance to reflect on the sacrifices made by both those who never returned home and those who did, carrying with them the experiences of service. At Strictly Business, we recognize the importance of paying tribute not only to the fallen but also to the Veterans who continue to be pillars in our communities—as business owners, neighbors, and leaders. We encourage our readers to express their gratitude, support Veteran-owned businesses, and acknowledge the heroes among us. Let’s honor their legacy by standing with the local businesses that make supporting our Veterans a priority.
