Strudyna Company Overview Strudyna is a leading manufacturer of stainless steel architectural systems with a global vision. Born from necessity to exceed expectation, Strudyna developed vast knowledge throughout the company’s development since its inception in 1971. From its humble roots producing marine fittings, Strudyna has evolved to be a leading supplier of complete architectural structural solutions. The symbiosis between metal and architecture has evolved over centuries, with successive eras opening up new technical and aesthetic possibilities through its development. Strudyna’s focus is at the forefront of this development process today. Its commitment to strictly architectural oriented design has led to a path of environmentally alternative construction solutions and is fast becoming a leading force. Unlike other building materials, stainless steel yield to the entropic nature of the environment, it can be 100% recovered and reformed. This capacity for recycling offers sustainability, making this a resource which is constantly evolving. This principle of evolution is at the very core of the Strudyna outlook in the development of its product ranges. Constantly improving and refining the design as well as the process of production.

Using in-house engineers, laboratories and testing procedures, Strudyna provides a design and manufacturing base that is controlled from concept to the finished article. With over 500 employees at present, ISO certification since 1998 and its 64 personnel solely in research and development. Strudyna has proven to be a continuous leader in its core market of stainless steel component design and manufacturing. Strudyna today have offices in Thailand, Australia, New Zealand and Europe (United Kingdom), with a USA office opening shortly. 2004 Bangkok International Airport Project Title : Main Terminal Building Location : Bangkok , Thailand Owner : New Bangkok International Airport Co.,Ltd Architect : Murphy/Jahn Inc., Chicago Year of construction : 2004

The main terminal façade envelope of Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport is 1140 meters in length and seven stories high, making it currently the largest glass wall structure in the World today. 37,000Kgs of stainless steel wire strand and 19,000Kgs of stainless fittings were supplied to this project, many design and manufacturing innovations were made that have now become next generation fittings and standard practices for manufacture and documentation.

The horizontal cable truss supported glass façade is still regarded as cutting edge applied technology and we are very proud to have been a part of its formation from early consultation through to design, manufacture and supply.


2005 Nortel Networks Building Project Title : Nortel Networks Head Office Location : Macquarie University Research Park Owner : SAS Trustee Corporation Architect : Bligh Voller Nield Year of construction : 2005

Within Macquarie University Research Park in Sydney, it features RDS 1.0 structural rod system in 316 grade stainless steel as the supporting feature of the environmental faรงade screens that encapsulate the building, providing protection from the environment for the occupants without being internal fitted. This project was awarded a 4 star SEDA rating for environmental efficiency.


2006 Taronga Zoo Male Elephant Holding Facility Project Title : Male Elephant Building Location : Sydney, Australia Owner : Taronga Zoo Architect : Jackson Teece Year of construction : 2009

At Taronga zoo features 16.0mm 1 X 19 stainless wire strand together with AM swage toggles and PBI rigging screws. The PBI range of rigging screws were selected because of their bronze inserts and large surface area locking nuts, giving the maintenance staff the ability to adjust the tensions when needed. A very simple but effective system customised to match the required breaking strength of the compound design with the redesigned swage studs for the rigging screw bodies.


2007 Hilton Hotel, Sydney Project Title : Sydney Hilton Canopy Location : George street, Sydney Owner : Hilton Hotel Year of construction : 2007

Glass canopy structure. This cable stayed glass roof over the main entrance of the Hilton Hotel is elegant and functional, when viewed from below and above is a visual feast of what can be achieved with stainless steel wire strand and glass. Lessons learned from our Suvarnabhumi Airport (NBIA) project were imparted on the faรงade designer and costs were saved in many areas by simply changing the spec from a single 32.0mm cables to paired 19.0mm Dyform cables as the main supporting cables. The support web was much more rigid with this system and ultimately easier for the glazier and installers to work with.


2009 DOHA International Airport –Emiri terminal concaved glass façade Project Title : NDIA (New Doha International Airport) Location : Doha, Qatar Year of construction : Under Construction

presently under construction in Qatar, the concave curved glass façade has complex cable supported tri-axial spyders allowing this multi faceted glass façade to become frameless and transparent. Custom stainless steel castings in 316 grades and Dyform and Hamma strand cables in various diameters will be used solely in this project. We are also competing for the contract to supply and manufacture the car park roof support cables which are a galvanised strand with stainless steel swage stud terminations in various sizes.


LA LIVE Project Title : LA Live Location : California, USA Year of construction : 2009

L.A. Live is the latest entertainment complex being featured by the Los Angeles city council. With an estimated investment sum of US$2.5 million, it will showcase several buildings and plaza into one mega complex. Sponsored by the mobile giant Nokia, L.A Live will feature a 3,700 meter square open air plaza as well as 7,100 Seat theater. Other developments include a Ritz-Carlton Hotel, a JW Marriott Hotel, a 14 screen Regal cinema, a Grammy museum, an ESPN broadcasting studio as well as office spaces.

L.A. Live in California USA Frame and cable supported glass facades and roofs for an iconic entertainment centre and museum in L.A. Kaohsiung Stadium, Taiwan Multiple cable assemblies for various elements of the stadium, we were able to prestress 80.0m long cables for this project. Temenos Sculpture UK A sculpture from Anish Kapoor to be constructed using Dyform cable and Strudyna next generation P2H terminations for the Tee Valley public art gallery. Tank Street Bridge, Brisbane The world’s largest tensegrity bridge, in Dyform strand and a Papaya variation to Bridon specification. Central World Plaza, Bangkok Renovation of the building to include a cable truss glass façade. Zen, Bangkok Extension a bow truss glass façade in P2H and Arcuswire. Suntec, Singapore Façade refurbishment . A fish bone style truss glass façade using P2H and Arcuswire for G8 meeting.


Product Ranges Strudyna have two types of product ranges, High Tensile System and Deco System. The high tensile system covers tensile cable assemblies and structural rod systems. The Deco system covers balustrades and artistic applications, both of which can be interwoven into design and form.

P2 H-ADJUSTER V 4.0 The P2H adjuster is a product adhering to the SAOD theory, “strictly architectural oriented design” and gives many benefits to membrane, façade and canter lever designs over conventional marine derived product of the past. The P2H is compact and sleek as well as having many features the engineers appreciate, laser etched breaking loads and serial numbering on components provide traceability and periodical routine maintenance to be factored into the project. Made from cast 316 grade stainless steel and machined to a satin finish as standard. P2H adjusters are fast becoming and architectural standard for façade engineers.


The P2H adjuster can also be used with tie-rod systems where greater adjustment is required or confined installation spcace is expected. These features combined with its all hidden threads, makes the P2H adjuster an icon in the making.

The P2H adjuster represents a second generation fitting. The design improved from the original Papaya product used on the SBIA (Bangkok Airport) project. The Papaya although very beautiful was limited through its width and weight as well as a practical multi application fully adjustable termination end. The P2H is slimmer and lighter and is able to be applied to more applications. The P2H adjuster can also be used with rods systems where greater adjustment is required or tighter fitment tolerances need to be observed. These features combined with its all hidden threads, makes the P2H adjuster an icon in the making.

Rod Dynamic System Our Rod Dynamic System has been designed to be simple and elegant. A newly introduced design of locking nut has been introduced that covers all remaining exposed threads on the rod end, making it more beautiful and streamlined when installed in a position of high visibility or contact with people. The standard RDS1.0 and RDS2.0 system is available in sizes from ¼” through to M56 with both adjustable fork and adjustable eye ends. PIN

Also available is a range of tension rod systems that use the P2H adjuster fork as their termination end, the 262 AR system is a 316 grade stainless steel system, Our 448 DR system, which is based on 2205 or Duplex rod with SRS (P2H style) Duplex adjustable fork ends, our 560 HTR system uses Duplex P2H adjustable forks with high tensile stainless steel rods, all these systems are available from M16 through to M56. We are also currently half way through a program that will see us release carbon steel rod systems within the next eighteen months.

AM Adjuster The AM adjuster was introduced to the market again with the SAOD theory driving the design team, the 316 grade stainless steel frame body has counter threaded and pressed bronze inserts in each end, eliminating galling when tensioning and have large surface area tapered locking nuts, these AM adjusters also feature laser etched breaking loads, thread size and serial numbers so we can again trace the manufacturing process and also age the fitting through its service life. They are available in many configurations, swage-fork, fork-fork, swage –toggle, toggle-toggle, swage –eye, eye-eye, eye-fork and so on, a fully modular, for a better word, open body turn buckle is 316 grade stainless steel design specific for exposed bracing cables and membrane structures. We also have a PBI option with this range, PBI is Pipe Body Inserts, which is a rigging screw with the same bronze inserts for a closed body look if desired.

Maximum - To produce it, we've tested the limit of what's technically possible with a open frame body, perfect surfaces in order to give it it's fine feel - and which strudyna has been known to value it's products over the years. Spyder We currently have two faรงade spyders in our program with three more to roll out over time. The two current spyders are M faรงade, for metal frame connection and G faรงade for cable truss supported glass facades. Primarily the Spyder element is similar with the connector element and mount being specific for the system being designed and built. We have 1 leg through to 4 leg spyders covering 99% of the installation requirement and two styles of rotule fasteners to compliment the installation. Spyders are in 316 grade stainless steel and are machine finished but are available in other surface finishes on request. This tri Axil Spyder that will be used on the DOHA airport in Qatar, a major breakthrough in design to compliment this visually stunning curved faรงade.

Slimfix The slim fix range was designed strictly for balustrade application, and can be seen on all 51 of the airway bridges at the new Bangkok airport. It has many variations for installations on to brick, steel, timber and stone. Covered threads allow adjustment without the thread exposure giving it superior aesthetics over other products in this application. Slimfix is also tamper proof, by way of the circular locking nut.

Hybrid Tensioner The Hybrid Tensioner series of product takes some style elements from the RDS range and the Papaya and can be used with conventional swage studs, rod systems and also Hybrid style wire terminations. It also follows the SAOD theory with a no exposed thread finish giving a sleek modern design with twin adjustment internal threads. The series is available to suit wire rope from 4.0mm to 12.0mm and in rod from 4.0mm to 12.0mm.
