Seeweb Ltd was born in May 1998 when a group of shareholders decided to found it using only their own capital. The core business was the supply of high quality technological solutions to be present online. After only one year, Seeweb products were so well placed on the market that the Company was among the first ten having a domain in Italy. Since 1999, Seeweb has considerably increased its turnover (+615% compared to 1998) and high ROE values (95% - the best ever for the IT sector in Italy). Since the offer was focused on the technological, structural and quality aspects of the service, a Server Farm with high technological informatics and network infrastructures was built and a series of Hosting and Housing products was created and they resulted to be unique in Italy for their technology, quality, scalability and price/performance ratio. A number of takeovers started in order to consolidate the market position: in 2002 Valore Ltd with 4000 domains and 3000 customers was took over; in April 2003 Lasersat sas started to take part in the assets and in 2006 Medianext as well with the dominion mark. In 2005 the trade branch and the new Data Center opened in Milan, in Via Caldera, core of the Internet sector in Italy. This brought Seeweb among the first and most important national companies in this filed. The branch in Milan is the crossroads of the new activities of CoLocation, geographic clustering, disaster management and of the trade activities for the North of Italy. Seeweb will end 2007 with more than 70.000 domains managed on its own infrastructures and with a turnover of more than 3.800.000 Euros with big operative margins. At the moment, Seeweb is working hard on the enlargement of the Data Center in Milan and on the opening of new facilities in Rome.

Offer Seeweb gained an important position on the market thanks to its highly technological services and products and its balanced price/performance ratio. The constant increase in the turnover and in the revenues enabled the company to strongly invest in innovation and technological development. Seeweb products were born and were improved with this same spirit of innovation; at the beginning it focused on Hosting and Housing services and referred to the Anglo-Saxon canons concerning methodologies, performance and prices. Since the beginning, Seeweb chose to have a strong technological and know-how connotation against its competitors, building its own Server Farm having multiple connections with the most important carriers and a very modern network infrastructure. This choice made the difference on the market for Seeweb products and services which are unique in a field where most of the competitors sell third parties’ products or technology, often coming from the US. Security and reliability Seeweb, the only one in Italy, ensures continuity of the service not lower than 99.00% on 365 days; thanks to the Service Layer Agreement, failing that it recognises a compensation equal to the year rent of the signed contract to the Customer. When the Customer’s needs require a higher continuity of the service compared to the ones foreseen in the default SLA, specific layers are available ensuring results to the highest levels: up to 99.95% of guarantee with penalty – 365/7/24 – and dedicated technical skills – 365/7/24. All services are under continuous surveillance, 365/7/24, through automatic systems able to detect any operational defects. When there is an anomaly, the technicians on call are informed and they immediately start finding out what is wrong and finding a solution thanks to extremely tested escalation procedures and methods. For Seeweb, SLA does not mean only quality care, willingness and continuity of services, but it is above all about attention to technical assistance and customer care towards their own Customers.

Strategies and development Seeweb has being going on with its own developing strategy in the supply of technological solutions to be online with determination for the past years, thanks to continuous research and considerable investments in technological and product innovation. Its aim is to consolidate its position of first operator on the national market from one hand and to start entering the European and international market on the other hand. The present industrial planning, foreseeing considerable capital appropriation in the next 24 months, focuses on important takeover operations – in Italy and in Europe – in order to make Seeweb become the reference player in the IT field. A more rational use of the technological resources to obtain a bigger productive efficiency, together with an even stronger commitment in the research and innovation field, will lead to a clear improvement of the price/performance ratio of the Seeweb services.

The Rating of the International Analysts Nowadays, Seeweb is one of the most credited international providers, thanks to the continuity of the service and to the quality of its infrastructures. Netcraft, independent analyst and leading observer of the Web and the Hosting fields, puts Seeweb among the “Most Reliable Hosting Providers”. In the special Netcraft list, Seeweb is always among the first thirty Hosting Companies of the world and twice in the last two years it ranked first for reliability of services. In particular, among the requests of access to the websites carried out by Netcraft monitoring system – operating from various observation points in the world (Texas/Rackspace, Atlanta/DellHost, London/DXI Networks, New York/New York Internet, Pennsylvania/INetU) – only 0.04% of the ones towards Seeweb failed during the entire observation period. If you take into consideration that all Netcraft monitoring points are foreign – the only one in Europe is in London – and that operators as important as Telecom Italia, Interland, Cable & Wireless, Affinity, AT&T and Colt are present in the list, the importance of the acknowledgement obtained and the leadership of Seeweb on the market at present are easily understood. In the Netcraft chart, Seeweb is the sole Italian company among the first ten operators. No more Italian operators are in the World Top Fifty list of Netcraft. These results come from the important redundancy of the network infrastructure of Seeweb, with two headquarters in Frosinone and Milan – united by a double dorsal at 4x622 Mbps through a redundant connection Packet over Sonet. The two running dorsals are used at more than 50% of their potential; therefore, they are able to face sudden or extraordinary traffic peaks and to ensure the best tolerance towards failures of the carries providing the IP resources. As regards as the quality of the service, a decisive contribution comes from the presence of Seeweb in the two main Italian IP interchange points: the Manex in Rome and the Mix in Milan, thanks to Seeweb own infrastructures in optical fibres.
