Welcome

Sa n Juan de la Isla! to

Experience the world’s most unique

Ometepe’s two towering volcanoes: the rugged, active “Volcan Concepcion” and the misty, cloudforestwrapped “Volcan Maderas”. The volcano lodge’s beachfront location is ideal for swimming in Lake Nicaragua’s warm waters, hiking inside nature reserves, mountain biking, horseback riding and volcano climbing. Perhaps best of all is the authentic rural ambience of San Juan de la Isla, which is set inside the Finca San Juan, a tropical fruit tree plantation

Activities For those who enjoy adventure and sports Ometepe offers two lovely volcanoes to climb, one active, and the other with a misty crater lake at its summit. They are the challenging: Maderas, known for its steep, muddy trails through dense forest and Concepción, famed for steep terrain that also includes loose footing and normally strong winds near the summit. “The experience of climbing two volcanoes is unique in the world, with a wonderful local guide, everything went perfectly”
