Marlene Luce Tremblay is a photographer-artist who, as a result of extensive travels throughout the Middle East, was able to offer an artistic “archaeology” of the Arab world. She began this journey with explorations of Egypt and exhibited works both in Montreal and in Cairo, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Canada and Egypt. Throughout her career, Tremblay exhibited in Montreal, New York, Paris, London, Tunisia and Algiers.
Marlene Luce Tremblay è una fotografa-artista che, in seguito a lunghi viaggi in tutto il Medio Oriente, è stata in grado di offrire un’archeologia artistica del mondo arabo. Ha iniziato questo viaggio con esplorazioni dell’Egitto e ha esposto opere sia a Montreal che al Cairo, per celebrare il 50 ° anniversario delle relazioni diplomatiche tra il Canada e l’Egitto. Nel corso della sua carriera, Tremblay ha esposto a Montreal, New York, Parigi, Londra, Tunisia e Algeri.

Aenigma è un’ode alla bellezza dell’arte rinascimentale. I grandi maestri dell’arte hanno offerto capolavori senza tempo. Ho fuso le mie immagini di Firenze con quelle del mondo naturale che, a mio modesto parere, è anche senza tempo. La natura è un’opera d’arte in sé e i maestri creati nella stessa atemporalità. Il mondo dell’arte di oggi è effimero, paragonato alla nostra società dei consumi. Il consumismo è ciò di cui parla il nostro mondo moderno. Questo è ciò che sto cercando di esprimere, in contrasto con la nostra quotidianità: la bellezza senza tempo dell’arte rinascimentale e del mondo naturale. Marlene Luce Tremblay

Today, while her passion for photography is being focused on the city where she now lives, Tremblay brings to light the beauty of the natural world in conversation with the cityscape. After working only in film photography for many years, she now uses digital photography to tint her images highlighting the painterly aspect of her imagery. After having won the first prize of the jury in the category “Fine Art Photography” at the XI Florence Biennale with the series “Iconic Egypt”, Marlene Luce Tremblay presents for the first time to the public AENIGMA at the Tower of Villa Carlotta from 14 to 29 July 2018. The exhibition is curated by the art historian Elisa Larese for Tablinum Cultural Management.
Oggi, mentre la sua passione per la fotografia si concentra sulla città in cui vive, Tremblay mette in luce la bellezza del mondo naturale in una conversazione con il paesaggio urbano. Dopo aver lavorato solo nella fotografia cinematografica per molti anni, ora usa la fotografia digitale per “colorare” le sue immagini evidenziando l'aspetto pittorico delle sue immagini. Dopo aver riscosso il primo premio della giura nella categoria “Fine Art Photography” presso la XI Florence Biennale con la serie “Iconic Egypt”, Marlene Luce Tremblay presenta per la prima volta al pubblico AENIGMA presso la Torretta di Villa Carlotta dal 14 al 29 luglio2018.

Aenigma is an ode to the beauty of Renaissance Art. The great masters of the art offered masterpieces that are timeless. I fused my images of Florence with those of the natural world which, in my humble view, is also timeless. Nature is a work of art in itself and the masters created in that same timelessness. Today’s art world is ephemeral, likened to our consumer society. Consumerism is what our modern world is about. This is what I am trying to express, the timelessness beauty of Renaissance art and the natural world. Marlene Luce Tremblay

Il suo inestimabile impegno è stato riconosciuto a livello istituzionale da organismi come l’ONU e numerose ambasciate nel mondo. Le sue opere sono esposte in permanente a presso: Egyptian Foreign Ministry and the Egyptian Tourist Authority al Cairo; l’Ambasciata Egiziana a Embassy a Londra e al Consolato egiziano in Ottawa; presso l’Alta Commissione del Canada a Londra, in importenti collezioni di aziende internazionali e privati. La sua mostra Women of New York è stata esposta presso la il Palazzo di Vetro dell’ONU a New York.
Marlene is a fine art photographer of international renown. At the forefront of disseminating, thanks to its art, important cultural messages in the world. His invaluable commitment has been recognized at the institutional level by bodies such as the UN and numerous embassies in the world. His works are exhibited permanently in: Egyptian Foreign Ministry and the Egyptian Tourist Authority in Cairo; the Egyptian Embassy in Embassy in London and the Egyptian Consulate in Ottawa; at the High Commission of Canada in London, in important collections of international and private companies. Her show, Women of New York, was exhibited at the UN Glass Building in New York.

The pintography - explains Marlene Luce Tremblay - consists in photographing people, objects or landscapes in black and white images that are colored with pigments that I create, enlarged and reproduced on canvas. Finally, the photographs on canvas are painted in acrylic or oil.
