Sleep gives your body & brain rest for a fresh next day, a sharper memory, improved concentration and helps protect your mental health. Aim for 8 10 hours of sleep every day. • Regulate your phone usage – avoid too much sedentary / still time spent on your mobile phone / TV / computer or gaming. It may weaken your mental performance whilst also impacting your BMI/weight. Try breaking up excessive periods of phone use/TV watching or gaming as often as possible.

10 benefits of students/pupils drinking water 6
SECONDARY & 6TH FORM EDITION
Drinking sufficient amounts of water helps keep you hydrated, which is vital for your health, well-being and academic and extra-curricular performance. Unfortunately, many students/pupils do not consume enough fluids to meet their daily minimum intakes. The recommended intake varies from person to person depending on their activity and perspiration levels. Generally accepted minimum fluid levels are around 3 litres for males and 2.5 litres for females. Whilst tap or bottled water is the best source of body fluid; milk, juices and other foods with high water content like oranges, tomatoes and soups are acceptable supplements.
MAIN BENEFITS 1. To function properly, our body cells and organs need plenty of water. Water is particularly essential for the kidneys (which regulates body fluids) thus reducing chances of kidney stones and related problems. 2. Water boosts your skin health and beauty! Prolonged dehydration makes your skin more prone to skin disorders and pre-mature wrinkling. 3. Water can also help in weight loss - by drinking water instead of fizzy drinks, juices and sodas, you can reduce your calorie intake. It can also be used to preload before meals thus creating a feeling of fulness, hence reducing overeating. 4. Water forms 80% of our cartilage, which helps lubricates the joints, thus improve physical performance. Dehydration can lead to joint pain and loss of shock absorption for your joints. 5. It helps improves food digestion in the form of saliva, whilst helping keep nose (mucus) and eyes (tears) moist. It also minimises tooth decay whilst keep your mouth clean and giving you a fresher breath! 6. Your bowel needs water to work properly. Prolonged dehydration can lead to bowel, digestive, constipation, stomach acid, stomach ulcers and heartburn problems. Prolonged dehydration can also lead to airways restricting as your body reacts, negatively impacting asthma and allergy conditions.

KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON DRINKING WATER
8. Water helps in the proper functioning of the nervous system, helping your brain structure and its normal functioning.
