One thing that never goes out of style is selfexpression and these fashion experts are brimming with it. Read on for their favorite designers, top style tips, and closet must-haves.

Tell us about yourself and your foray into the world of fashion. I went to a British convent in the Himalayan foothills where I had a posh school uniform. A few times a year, however, I got to wear colored clothes, which launched my love for fashion. After moving to the U.S., I landed my first job as an image consultant at a high-end boutique and have been a stylist for 27 years. I’m not into trends but timeless pieces. I’m also not into quantity but quality and cost per wear. Since 2020, I’ve used Instagram for inspiration with a focus on positive aging. I’m 54, and in our youth-obsessed culture, women my age are practically invisible online and have been historically put out to pasture. We need to look at aging as an honor—what a privilege it is to have all this wisdom by just being here. Describe your style. I get dressed based on how I'm feeling that day—whether it’s hyper feminine with heels and lots of delicate jewelry or more masculine with an oversized silhouette, brogues, and a hat. Where do you draw inspiration from? Magazines, social media, the streets, film, music, art, galleries and museums, and travel—either physically or creatively through books and movies. What’s the future of fashion? It will be all about mixing pieces in your closet. Wear whatever makes you feel good and own it. People have been overdressing as of late, even to go to the grocery store. And I say, why not? The pandemic has affected the way designers are looking at style. There’s still fantasy and aspiration, but I think we’ll see more practicality; lots of knits; pared down, matching separates that feel like the new suits; and oversized pieces. Must-have closet item: A trench coat. Favorite designer: Currently, I’m loving

everything Ganni. Fashion icon: I love how Jenna Lyons, Diane Keaton, and Lauren Hutton put things together. Also, the originals: Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, and Jackie O. Last stylish purchase: A Saint Laurent chunky chain-link necklace. Best style tip: Embrace your shape. Once you know which silhouettes flatter you, filter trends ruthlessly. Favorite local shop: I’m biased and will have to say Anthropologie!
