ROCHDALE'S GOT TALENT 2020 Talented 11-year-old dancer, Xela Mills, was crowned the winner of virtual talent competition Rochdale's Got Talent 2020 and received a ÂŁ1000 gift voucher from Rochdale's favourite singing jeweller, John Alexander. The contest was a huge success, with hundreds of local people showcasing their talents during lockdown, while raising an incredible ÂŁ8315 for Springhill Hospice. Xela received over 2000 votes after she wowed the public with her dancing skills, with dancers Alana and Estelle coming second with 1608 votes, and opera singer Beth in third place, just seven votes behind.
Man of Rochdale Paul Ellison, who organised the event along with Sam Kutereba-Wall said: "Huge congratulations to Xela; she is very talented and will go far in the future. We can't wait to see where her talents take her." "I'm thrilled we've raised so much for the hospice, as they've had a real hit with their major fundraising events being cancelled. Springhill is a place close to many of us, and I am pleased we could help support them at such an imperative time".
"We would like to give a huge thank you to everyone who supported and donated to our event this year... Also a big thank you to all our team, who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes. It's been a massive success, enjoyed by many, and here at RGT HQ, we are looking forward to seeing you all next year, for Rochdale's Got Talent 2021!". Well done to all the contestants and everyone who worked hard to make the competition a success.
Alana and Estelle received vouchers from Platos Y Bebidas, The Baum and Face Medical Clinic, while Beth received entrance into Carol Godby's Theatre Workshop and the opportunity to feature as a background artist on a professional TV set. Rochdale Style | 49
