Dear Readers,

As we step into April, I’m reminded of an old saying: there are some things in life we just can’t avoid—taxes and getting older. Its been said time and again, yet it always rings true. Hopefully, we’ll all have our taxes squared away by the 15th, but aging? Well, that’s another story.

While we may not have found a way to pause time, we continue to discover new ways to stay youthful, energized, and healthy. The beauty of life is that each day offers us a fresh opportunity to take better care of ourselves, to embrace the world around us, and to make the most of the moments we’re given. So, let’s welcome the warmth of spring and all the vibrant energy it brings to sunny Orlando.

With the cool weather fading, now is the perfect time to appreciate everything that has made 2025 a year to remember—especially the incredible advancements in medicine, wellness, and beauty. This issue of Orlando Style is a reminder to slow down, take a breath, and enjoy the little things. Don’t just stop and smell the roses— admire their colors, watch them sway in the breeze, and soak in the season’s renewal. Life is short, and those who focus on the bright side not only make the most of it but perhaps even extend it.

When we prioritize our well-being—physically and mentally—we not only enjoy life more, but also add to the days we get to share with the ones we love. So, this month, take the opportunity to invest in yourself: visit your doctor, hit the gym, unwind at the spa, indulge in a salon day, or simply gather with family and friends at your favorite restaurant. Live fully, embrace joy, and truly savor life.

For our calendar-conscious readers, April 1st marks the launch of our annual “Got Style” campaign to expand our subscriber/client base! All new advertisers/ subscribers, starting with the May 2025 issue will be entered into a drawing to win $500 in prizes. And in the spirit of today’s date, here’s a famous quote from President Abraham Lincoln: "You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time."

We’d love to hear from you! Share your thoughts with us at info@styletome.com. Until next month, enjoy the sunshine, embrace the season, and make every day count!

STYLE EVENTS, NEWS & GOSSIP FROM AROUND ORLANDO

Florida might not have much of a winter, but spring is absolutely stunning in the Sunshine State. As a result, March is a busy season for events throughout the City Beautiful. Here are just a few highlights, just in case you missed it!

Orlando in March brings one of the States’ favorite fairs. Founded way back in 1910, the Central Florida Fair is so popular that it attracts an average of 250,000 visitors each year with entertainment for all ages. Attendees of the 2025 Central Florida Fair enjoyed a midway featuring rides, games, food, 100 groups providing live music and entertainment, more than 2,000 animals, livestock exhibitions and competitive exhibits, and so much more. The fair ran daily through March 9th and featured various creative arts such as decorated cakes and informative, fun demonstrations by top chefs in the stage kitchen. It was a true celebration of community and the making of lifelong memories with family and friends!

He is one of the greatest entertainers of all time! From March 4-16, Michael Jackson’s unique and unparalleled artistry came to the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts as MJ, the multi Tony Award®-winning new musical centered around the making of the 1992 Dangerous World Tour. Created by Tony Award®-winning Director/ Choreographer Christopher Wheeldon and two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage, MJ went beyond the singular moves and signature sound of the star, offering attendees a rare look at the creative mind and collaborative spirit that catapulted Michael Jackson into legendary status.

Those looking to celebrate St Patrick’s Day in Orlando headed to Ragland Road at Disney Springs for the most authentic Irish festival in America. Raglan Road Mighty St. Patrick’s Festival kicked off March 14 and ran

A RECAP OF MARCH 2025 IN CENTRAL FLORIDA: A MONTH OF EXCELLENCE!

through March 17 with non-stop entertainment, complimentary face painting and a mighty selection of beers, whiskeys, flights, and craft cocktails to pair with delicious traditional Irish food. The festivities featured gift competitions, loads of giveaways and endless fun for the whole family. Live music from award-winning imported Irish bands and the Raglan Road Irish Dancers kept the Mighty celebrations going all weekend long.

With spring right around the corner, there was no better way for Central Floridians to spruce up their homes and landscapes than by purchasing directly from the growers at Leu Gardens 28th Annual Plant Sale. From March 8-9, growers sold a variety of plants including: annuals, bamboo, bromeliads, butterfly plants, camellias, ferns, flowering trees, fruit trees, gingers, heliconias, herbs, native plants, orchids, palms, plumerias, roses, vines and more! The beloved event even featured some great outdoor garden accessories too! Best of all, admission was free all weekend for visitors to explore the Gardens and pick up some treasures to take home.

Recognized as America’s longest running weekly car show, Old Town’s Saturday Nite Classic Car Show and Cruise has been a weekend tradition every Saturday without interruption for the past 35 years. The event invites guests to drive down memory lane as Old Town welcomes showquality 1985 and older hot rods, street rods, and antiques. The 35th Anniversary Celebration Car Show took place on March 15th at 11 a.m. with vehicles on display during the day, prior to the Car Cruise down Old Town’s Main Street at 8:30pm. The Main Street stage featured live bands throughout the day and night, and live “streetmosphere” entertainment for guests to enjoy.

The Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival is one of the nation’s oldest, largest and most prestigious outdoor art festivals with 350,000 visitors annually. Now celebrating its 66th year, the 2025 Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival took place

March 21-23 in downtown Winter Park’s Central Park. The festival debuted in March 1960 as a community project to bring local artists and art lovers together. It’s produced by an all-volunteer board and draws up to 250,000 visitors each year. An independent panel of three judges selected the artists that exhibited their work for this year’s event though more than 1000 artists from around the world applied. The festival consistently ranks among the top juried fine-art festivals in the country.

Taste of Oviedo presented by Oviedo Medical Center took place at Oviedo Mall on Saturday, March 22 for its biggest and tastiest year yet! Produced by Oviedo-Winter Springs Regional Chamber of Commerce and the City of Oviedo, the free annual tradition brought the whole community together for a day of music, food, family fun, and incredible local flavors. The 31st Annual event proved to be fun for the whole family as visitors came out to enjoy delicious dishes from the best local restaurants and eateries while the kids enjoyed nonstop entertainment and activities. In addition to unforgettable live music, Taste of Oviedo was proud to also introduce a Beer Garden with craft beer from multiple vendors. Needless to say, a good time was had by all!

Momentum grew quickly for the 3rd Annual Taste & Sip of Sanford foodie event held at the Sanford Civic Center on Saturday, March 22nd! This family-friendly ticketed event featured award-winning restaurants, popular local chefs, custom-made brews, well-known local musicians, raffle prizes, and the opportunity to support Picnic Project’s mission to create a healthy community. Ticket-holders and area foodies enjoyed a delicious afternoon of culinary creativity, music, philanthropy and community. This unique spin on a tasting event makes sense as Picnic Project’s co-founder, Mark Thompson is the former Chef de Cuisine at Txokos Basque Kitchen. As a chef himself he appreciates collaborative creative cuisine!

Live LET LUX

There’s no time to die when you’re living your best life—sipping martinis, dazzling in Tiffany diamonds, indulging in decadent delights, and stepping into a world of espionage and elegance at the ultra-luxurious Ette Hotel. In collaboration with Aston Martin Orlando, Ette Hotel brought James Bond’s world of sophistication and adventure to life in a way that only they could.

No detail was overlooked as Alex and Sheila Ekbatani, owners of Ette Hotel, joined forces with Peter and Kate Wilson, owners of Aston Martin Orlando, to host a high-octane, immersive celebration of cinematic glamour. From the moment guests arrived, they were transported into a world where luxury and intrigue reigned supreme.

A red-carpet grand entrance set the stage for a Bond-worthy affair, complete with models painted in shimmering gold—a nod to Goldfinger— flanking the pathway to the venue. Guests embraced the theme with dazzling gowns, striking tuxedos, and impeccably tailored suits, exuding the timeless sophistication of 007 himself. Every detail reflected the world of espionage and high-stakes glamour, making the evening feel like a scene straight from a Bond film.

A dramatic showcase of Aston Martin’s most highperformance, sleek vehicles added adrenaline to the atmosphere. Complementing the fast-moving Aston Martins were Moke’s open-air electric luxury cars, positioned strategically to enhance the setting of high-class adventure.

Inside Ette Hotel, the transformed venue unfolded like scenes from a Bond film. Guests sipped on expertly crafted shaken, not stirred martinis while testing their luck at an authentic Baccarat table, amplifying the night’s thrill. A vintageinspired speakeasy set the stage for an intimate live performance by Grammy Award-winning flutist Néstor Torres, his melodies enriched by the impeccable acoustics provided by Bang & Olufsen. Meanwhile, Cirque Bishop mesmerized the audience with gravity-defying acts that added a sense of mystery and awe.

As the evening progressed, the spectacle only intensified. Go-go dancers shimmered under the lights, while ethereal performers inside giant inflatable spheres gracefully danced on water, creating a surreal, dreamlike experience. At Lipa Rooftop, Ette Hotel’s crown jewel, guests danced

under the stars, with the breathtaking city skyline providing the perfect cinematic backdrop.

But no Bond-worthy affair is complete without world-class indulgence. Guests dined on an extravagant spread curated by Ette Hotel’s restaurant, Salt & the Cellar by Michelin -Starred Chef Akira Back—featuring fresh prawns, oysters, lobster, sushi, and the hotel’s signature AB Cigar dessert, a clever nod to the premium cigars provided by Oxford Cigars. With layers of passion fruit mousse, almond blondie, chocolate, and cacao nibs, the dessert was as decadent as the night itself.

Amid the evening’s unparalleled luxury, Montblanc unveiled a true collector’s masterpiece—the Great Characters Homage to The Great Gatsby Limited Edition 8 Fountain Pen, valued at $167,000. Escorted by its own security detail to Ette Hotel, this extraordinary writing instrument was presented for guests to admire, its solid Au 750 yellow gold fittings, intricate Art Deco design, and gleaming green tsavorite symbolizing Gatsby’s eternal pursuit of greatness. A dazzling fusion of literature, craftsmanship, and exclusivity, it was a fitting highlight in a night dedicated to opulence and allure.

Luxury extended beyond the experience, as select guests received extravagant gifts from Montblanc, Tiffany & Co., and Neiman Marcus Orlando, ensuring that some attendees left with more than just memories.

And, of course, Orlando Style was there to capture every dazzling moment. Ette Hotel is known for curating some of the most extravagant and highly anticipated soirées of the year, each one a masterclass in luxury, entertainment, and refinement. We eagerly anticipate next year’s exclusive affair, where sophistication and spectacle will take center stage.

Because after all, the world is not enough.

BALMAIN

A/W25

The Balmain woman is a beautiful, confident, sexy, and an unapologetic troublemaker. She moves with a fearless attitude, always commanding attention without seeking permission. She’s daring and strong, effortlessly exuding sensuality, but this season signals a shift—introducing soft, cocoon-like silhouettes and stepping away from creative director Olivier Rousteing’s traditionally bold structures. Think rib-knit dresses hugging the body effortlessly, slouchy coats that wrap like a warm embrace, and an overall sense of ease woven into the collection.

This season celebrates Balmain’s legacy while pushing its aesthetic forward. Marking the house’s 80th anniversary, it honors the past while embracing bold reinvention. Signature gowns and intricate embroideries remain, now woven seamlessly with modern elements that redefine tradition with a fresh perspective.

With influences from the refined elegance of the '50s and '60s and the bold energy of the '80s, structured coats take on sculptural volumes, while crocodile embossing and animal prints inject untamed intensity. The fusion of Parisian sophistication and raw organic textures creates a dynamic tension, pushing Balmain into an exciting new era.

THE EVOLUTION OF STRENGTH & SOFTNESS

The Balmain woman moves with confidence, her wardrobe a balance of strength and sensuality. Utilitarian essentials—peacoats, structured parkas, and cargo-style trousers—offer function and flair, while cashmere and mohair contrast with the tough presence of leather and armor-like embellishments. This collection celebrates power in all its forms—refined, rebellious, and fearless.

The show’s emotional arc was set from the opening musical notes of Kate Bush’s Cloudbusting, filling the space with anticipation and an unshakable belief in the unknown. As structured coats and sculptural silhouettes commanded the runway, Enya’s Boadicea deepened the mood, its haunting melody underscoring the warrior-like presence of the Balmain woman. This moment was further amplified by the unveiling of a breathtaking gold dress, a true highlight of the season. Constructed using thousands of small, hand-assembled resin tiles, it created a stunning 3D crocodile effect that gave the dress a sculptural, armor-like presence. The intricate craftsmanship blended avant-garde innovation with Balmain’s signature opulence. The way light danced off the articulated resin tiles enhanced its powerful and dynamic allure, solidifying it as an unforgettable showpiece, perfectly in sync with the song’s victorious energy.

The color story this season plays with contrast—deep greys and navy provide a timeless foundation, punctuated by vibrant pops of yellow, called Mustard!!!. I was ready to shout out ‘Mustard on the beat’, because these colors brought the rhythm, the energy, and the unexpected edge to the runway. These hues bring an unexpected softness to the collection’s fierce textures. Wild animal motifs roam freely across the runway, from intricately assembled 3D croco-effect dresses to zebra-striped beadwork shimmering on fluid fabrics. Just as the zebra print dress and golden sun origami dress emerged, the Chromatics’ Girls Just Wanna Have Fun filled the air—an anthem of liberation. 'I want to be the one to walk in the sun, oh girls just want to have fun'—the lyrics perfectly captured the Balmain woman’s spirit as she strode forward, commanding attention with every step.

As I sat front row, taking in the confidence of this collection, the thigh-high aubergine boots paired with a grey sweater and pants instantly transported me to an '80s Flashdance fantasy. The slouchy, structured balance of it

all felt effortlessly cool and powerful. And let’s be real—I live in Orlando, so if you see me at Publix in the frozen goods section rocking these boots, just carry on. I’ll be living my best life, and yes, I will continue to wear them at home with the air condition set below 65.

The orange shearling boots were impossible to ignore, their oversized volume and sculpted wedge commanding attention from every angle. With their bold texture and playful energy, they weren’t just made for walking— they stole the show, especially when paired with a matching coat and bag. And once again, the anthem bag is still the 'It' bag of the season. It’s belted, cinched silhouette, makes it effortlessly stylish.

The final walk was set against the Barbarella theme, a nod to a heroine who embodied strength, sensuality, and fearless exploration. Then came the song Wuthering Heights, its haunting refrain—'Let me grab your soul away'—capturing the wild passion of Cathy, a woman who refused to be tamed or silenced. Like Cathy, the Balmain woman is

unapologetic in her desires, unrelenting in her confidence, and unwilling to conform, moving through time, space, and fashion with effortless command.

Olivier Rousteing’s vision for Balmain Autumn/Winter 2025 marks an evolution— one where sensuality is redefined, where heritage meets contemporary edge, and where the Balmain woman continues her exploration of style and self-expression. Watching this collection unfold, I couldn’t help but feel the shift—a celebration of power, yet an embrace of softness. This season wasn’t just about bold statements; it was about depth, emotion, and the kind of confidence that doesn’t need to announce itself to be felt. Balmain has always been a house that thrives on audacity, and this collection proves that audacity can be just as compelling when it whispers instead of roars. And as the final musical note faded, I knew one thing for certain—I was ready to step into this new era of Balmain, boots on, bag in hand, and entirely on my own terms. Always part of the Balmain Army, now Balmain family.

How to Create a

Skincare Routine for

Mature Skin

Unlock the Secret to Glowing Skin with the Right Routine

Essential Steps to Maintain Healthy, Radiant Skin as You Age

changes in your diet, and smoking can speed up aging, leading to visible signs of aging. However, individuals who prioritize their skincare needs early on might notice fewer wrinkles and fine lines.

These changes happen gradually, and some aren't as visible as others. As your skin matures, it’s important that your skincare routine changes, too. Many individuals with mature skin need products that help hydrate, protect, and repair. Formulas designed with hydrating ingredients can help you maintain a youthful look and reduce visible signs of aging.

The Essentials of Mature Skincare

To achieve visibly healthier-looking skin, revise your skincare routine and ensure it aligns with your unique needs. The essentials for visibly healthier skin include a gentle cleaner, hydrating moisturizer, targeted treatments, and sun protection. Here are the benefits of incorporating these different products into your routine:

Laugh lines, age spots, wrinkles, and line creases are normal skin imperfections that can occur with aging. The older you get, the less collagen and elastin your skin produces. This can lead to common visual imperfections that impact your skin’s youthful look.

The best way to combat these imperfections is to tailor your skincare routine to align with the changing needs of mature skin. With the right science-backed formulas and highly effective nutrients, you can maintain your skin's integrity and target your unique skin concerns.

Not sure where to get started? Here's how you can build a skincare routine for mature skin:

Understanding the Transformation of Mature Skin

It might surprise you to know that everyone’s skin ages at a different pace. Long days sunbathing in the summer sun,

Cleanser

A cleanser helps clean the skin and removes dirt and grime from the skin's surface. Starting your routine with a gentle cleanser ensures you start with a clean slate. This will help improve product absorption while preserving your skin's natural oils. The best cleanser for mature skin is formulated with hydrating ingredients like glycerin, niacinamide, and ceramides. They also don't contain any harsh alcohols or ingredients that might strip the skin.

Moisturizer

A hydrating moisturizer helps preserve the skin's integrity, combat dryness, and improve your skin's moisture levels. When looking for a moisturizer for your mature skin, you should look for products that support rejuvenation and cellular repair.

Your skin changes with age— your routine should too

Augustinus Bader’s The Rich Cream is deeply hydrating and restorative. Their products are made with patented trigger factor complex technology, which helps turn potent ingredients into highly effective skincare formulas. Formulas like The Rich Cream are optimal for mature skin types, and the results are backed by clinical trials.

Serums

Serums are formulated with active ingredients like peptides, retinol, and hyaluronic acid, which are highly effective and beneficial for mature skin. Serums typically contain higher concentrations of active ingredients, which can help you take a more targeted approach to your routine. Mature skin can benefit from a hyaluronic acid or vitamin C serum in the morning. Incorporating a retinol serum at night can also help improve skin texture and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

Targeted Treatments

Laughing, frowning, and everyday facial expressions can cause common skin imperfections, like fine lines and wrinkles under the eyes. The skin under your eyes is more fragile and delicate than the rest of your face. As your collagen levels deplete, these skin imperfections become more prominent. Many individuals find an eye cream beneficial for their mature skin routine. Eye creams and other targeted treatments can help hydrate under the eyes and help you achieve a “more awake” appearance.

Sun Protection

Prolonged sun exposure, especially in sunny climates like Florida, can cause fine lines, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation.. Sunscreen protects the skin from harmful UV rays and protects the skin from signs of aging and skin cancer. If your everyday moisturizer doesn’t have sunscreen in the formula, you should try to include sunscreen in your daytime skincare routine. Mature skin can benefit from SPF 30 or higher.

Supplementing Your Routine for Mature Skin

Exploring weekly or monthly supplemental skincare treatments is another easy way to improve your skincare routine. These treatments will give your skin the extra boost of vitamins and nutrients needed to combat the changes in collagen and elastin.

Treatments like face masks and exfoliants can improve hydration, visibly reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots. Professional facials or microcurrent therapy can also benefit mature skin, helping delay skin aging.

When exploring supplemental treatments and products for your routine, it's always best to consider your unique skin type and the formula. Not all skincare products are created equally. So, you should read clinical trial data and use innovative, sciencebacked formulas.

If you aren’t sure which treatment or ingredients are best for your skin type, consider speaking with a dermatologist for expert advice and guidance.

Wrapping Up

Creating a skincare routine for mature skin is the best way to minimize signs of aging and preserve your youthful glow. With small changes to your everyday routine, you can maintain your skin’s integrity and lessen the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and creases. This is the most effective way to support skin health and natural radiance.

While building a skincare routine for mature skin, it’s always best to remember that it’s normal for your skin to change with age. Embracing the transformations is the best way to maintain your confidence and stay positive through the changes.

"With small changes to your everyday routine, you can maintain your skin’s integrity and lessen the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and creases."

Blossom into Wellness Embracing Spring for a Healthier You

Spring is a season of renewal and rejuvenation, making it the perfect time to focus on wellness. As nature awakens from its winter slumber, the longer days and warmer weather provides an ideal backdrop for embracing what I strive for most, a healthier lifestyle. The vibrant colors and fresh scents of blooming flowers, coupled with the increased opportunities for outdoor activities, can significantly enhance both our physical and mental well-being. By taking advantage of the unique benefits that spring offers, we can embark on a journey towards improved health and happiness, setting the tone for a vibrant and fulfilling year ahead.

Physical Wellness:

With longer days and warmer weather, spring is an exciting time to get outside and be active. Activities like walking, jogging, cycling, and gardening can help improve physical health. The fresh air and sunshine can also boost your mood and provide essential vitamin D. Spring offers a variety of exercise options that can keep your fitness routine exciting and enjoyable. You can try hiking, playing sports, or even join outdoor fitness classes. The key is to find activities that you enjoy and that keep you motivated to stay active. Gardening is a wonderful way to combine physical activity with the joy of nurturing plants. It involves various movements like bending, digging, and lifting, which can help improve flexibility, strength, and overall fitness. Plus, it provides a sense of accomplishment and connection to nature.

Engaging in physical activities with friends or family can enhance your social connections and make exercising more enjoyable. Group activities like playing tennis, going for group walks, or participating in community sports events can provide both physical and social benefits. Spring is also a wonderful time to focus on activities that promote the mind-body connection, such as yoga and tai chi. These practices not only improve physical strength and flexibility but also enhance mental clarity and relaxation.

Mental Wellness:

Spring's natural beauty can have a positive impact on mental health. The blooming flowers, green trees, and singing birds can lift spirits and reduce stress. It is also a suitable time to practice mindfulness and meditation, taking advantage of the peaceful outdoor settings. Mindfulness involves being present in the moment and appreciating the beauty around you, which can help reduce stress and enhance overall well-being. The peaceful outdoor settings provide a perfect backdrop for this practice. Spending time in nature during spring can be incredibly therapeutic. The vibrant colors and fresh scents of blooming flowers can stimulate the senses and promote a sense of calm and relaxation. Activities like walking in the park, or hiking can help reduce anxiety and improve one’s mood.

Self-Care:

Spring is a perfect time to focus on self-care. Whether it is taking a relaxing bath, reading an

enjoyable book, or spending time in nature, selfcare activities can help recharge your batteries and improve your overall well-being. Embracing selfcare during this season can lead to improved mental clarity, reduced stress, and a greater sense of overall happiness, setting a positive tone for the months ahead. Spring is an ideal time to prioritize self-care, especially when it comes to my personal favorite, skincare.

As the weather transitions from the cold, dry winter to the warmer, more humid spring, your skin's needs change as well. Spring is a perfect time to exfoliate your skin to remove dead skin cells that have accumulated over the winter. This can help reveal a fresher, more radiant complexion. I highly recommend INNATA Skincare’s Exfoliating Face Scrub. It is designed to gently exfoliate the skin, leaving it smooth and revitalized. Incorporating this product into your skincare routine can help you achieve a glowing complexion just in time for the spring season.

INNATA Skincare’s Vitamin Citrus Serum is a fantastic addition to your spring skincare routine. This serum is designed to incorporate antioxidants into your skincare regimen, which can help protect your skin from environmental damage. Vitamin C in the serum brightens your skin and reduces the appearance of dark spots, making it an excellent choice for achieving a radiant complexion during the spring season.

In conclusion, the spring season offers us a unique opportunity to embrace wellness in all its forms. The natural renewal and rejuvenation that comes with spring can inspire us to focus on our physical, mental, and emotional well-being. By taking advantage of the longer days, warmer weather, and fresh produce, we can enhance our health and happiness. Whether it is through outdoor activities, mindful practices, or nourishing our bodies with seasonal foods, spring provides the perfect backdrop for an integrated approach to wellness. Embracing these practices during this vibrant season can set the foundation for a healthier and more fulfilling year ahead. -

Other Stars Celebrities Who Worked for

BEFORE MAKING IT BIG

FROM EMPLOYEES TO ICONS… HERE ARE THE CELEBRITIES WHO WORKED FOR THE FAMOUS FIRST!

Before the fame and red carpets, some of today’s biggest celebrities were working behind the scenes supporting stars who were already at the top. From assistants to personal stylists and other behind-the-scenes roles, let’s take a look at some well-known celebrities whose early careers remind us that even the most successful superstars have humble beginnings and that the road to fame isn’t always a straight path.

JENNIFER GARNER

Before Jennifer Garner saw her name in lights, she was a babysitter for Stephen Colbert. Jennifer and Stephen, both unknown actors at the time, first met when they had small roles in an episode of Spin City in 1996. Stephen mentioned to Jennifer that he and his wife needed someone to help with their daughter Madeline. Jennifer, then a struggling actress, took on the gig and cared for their little girl inbetween auditions. Jennifer recalled her babysitting escapades during an appearance on the host’s show saying, “She was really smart. She was very verbal and she was precocious and adorable.”

KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN

Not only were Khloé Kardashian and Nicole Richie friends since high school, the reality stars also worked together earlier on in their careers. Before skyrocketing to reality TV fame, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star held a much more behind-the-scenes role as Nicole Richie’s personal assistant. Khloé opened up about the former gig during an appearance on the Emergency Contact podcast. She explained that the short-term job took place after Nicole started doing The Simple Life and that “she just needed some help and I just needed a job.”

MEGHAN MARKLE

Before starring in Suits and prior to marrying into British royalty, Meghan Markle worked as a calligrapher, gift-wrapper and book-binder at her local Paper Source in Beverly Hills. The part-time job supported Meghan while she auditioned for acting roles. Her talent in calligraphy even earned her freelance gigs, one of which including writing the invitations for singer Robin Thicke’s wedding to now ex-wife Paula Patton in 2005. The Duchess of Sussex shared that she picked up the unusual hobby during handwriting classes in Catholic school.

JENNA DEWAN

Before getting her big break in the 2006 film Step Up, Jenna Dewan was a professional backup dancer for none other than Justin Timberlake. The former World of Dance host spoke of their past relationship on Watch What Happens Live and even revealed that she also briefly dated the pop star. “We’re still good friends,” she said. “It’s not as salacious as everyone thinks.”

KIM KARDASHIAN

Khloe isn’t the only Kardashian to have had a celebrity employer! Before Kim Kardashian was a household name, she worked as a closet stylist for various celebs including Paris Hilton, Cindy Crawford, and others. In fact, it is well-known that Kim is close friends with tennis champion Serena Williams, but few know that their longtime friendship first began as a business relationship when Serena hired Kim to use her expertise to help clean out her closet.

MINDY KALING

As a fan of Mindy Kaling, I was amazed to learn that the producer and actress first began her writing career as an intern at Late Night with Conan O’Brien when she was just a 19 year old college student. The Office star has stated in interviews however that she was more focused on being starstruck by Conan than actually doing the work and wasn’t a particularly useful intern.

ALLISON WILLIAMS

Sometimes a little nepotism goes a long way when it comes to getting that first job with a celebrity! With some help from her famous dad, news anchor Brian Williams, actress Allison Williams managed to secure a gig as Tina Fey’s second assistant while she was filming 2008’s Baby Mama and 30 Rock. Williams parlayed her job and connections into other opportunities before landing her first big role in the HBO comedy-drama series Girls.

KANYE WEST

Before his spectacular fall from grace, rapper and record producer Kanye West was employed by Jay-Z to produce tracks for his label, Roc-A-Fella Records. The label launched in 1996 and Kanye was brought on board in 2004 while he was still an unknown artist. His massively successful debut solo album, The College Dropout, wasn’t released until 4 years later in 2004.
