Retrofête Fall/Winter 2025
Retrofête takes a daring step forward for New York Fashion Week’s Fall/Winter 2025, staying true to its signature blend of vintage nostalgia and modern-day glamour. Ohad Seroya, the cofounder and creative force behind the brand, masterfully plays with contrasts—masculine and feminine, structured and fluid, classic and rebellious—crafting a collection that is both timeless and undeniably fresh.
+ exclusive Q&A with Retrofête’s Ohad Seroya!
By Josie NeJame
This season, Retrofête embraces an evolution of style, weaving together inspirations from different decades. A-line skirts nod to the elegance of the '60s, while bold British plaid patterns evoke the effortless cool of the '90s. Rich, opulent hues—burgundy, ochre and deep cognac—lend a sense of quiet luxury, making every piece feel indulgent and unique.

This season, Retrofête embraces an evolution of style, weaving together inspirations from different decades. A-line skirts nod to the elegance of the '60s, while bold British plaid patterns evoke the effortless cool of the '90s. Rich, opulent hues—burgundy, ochre and deep cognac— lend a sense of quiet luxury, making every piece feel indulgent and unique.
Seroya’s love for reinvention is evident in his approach to tailoring. He reimagines classic menswear staples, transforming them into strikingly feminine silhouettes—think traditional men’s dress shoes reinterpreted as sleek heels, blending strength with sensuality. Power dressing takes center stage this season, with tailored trousers and sharp blazers creating an undeniable sense of poise. A stunning burgundy suit commands attention with its rich, velvety texture, while a gold ruched dress exudes effortless elegance—both embodying the balance between structure and movement that defines the collection.
On the runway, a houndstooth trench coat in a muted pinot hue offer a classic yet contemporary fall staple, while luxurious vintage-inspired faux furs drape over shoulders and layer effortlessly over distressed denim, proving that even casual moments can feel indulgent. The contrast between rugged denim and plush faux fur embodies the duality of the Retrofête woman—cool and confident, effortless yet elevated.
What makes Retrofête so special is that it’s one of the few brands where you’ll find both my daughters and me stepping out in different versions of its dresses, ready to celebrate. There’s something magical about a brand that speaks across generations, making every woman feel glamorous in her own way. When I shared this with Ohad, he was thrilled—because that’s exactly what he envisioned for Retrofête: a brand that brings people together through fashion, celebrating joy, confidence, and the art of dressing up.
Ohad, ever the vintage enthusiast, infuses the collection with Hollywood-inspired glamour, channeling his fascination with iconic figures like Sharon Stone. Whether it’s a slinky black dress paired with sheer tights and classic pumps, or a velvet gown adorned with open-back bow details, the Retrofête woman remains effortlessly glamorous, season after season.
With the introduction of accessories in S/S 24, the natural next step was footwear. Now, Retrofête completes the vision—offering a full head-to-toe wardrobe, from statement earrings and structured handbags to showstopping shoes, ensuring that every woman can step into the world fully styled and utterly unforgettable.
But beyond the glitz and glamour of Retrofête’s designs, what struck me most in my conversation with Ohad Seroya was his deep passion for his craft and the journey it took to get here. He isn’t just designing clothes—he’s creating a lifestyle, a movement that celebrates confidence, individuality, and the sheer joy of dressing up. It was an absolute pleasure speaking with him, and I walked away not only inspired by his newest collection but also by the man behind the brand—someone truly devoted to his artistry and vision.
Here’s my exclusive Q&A with Retrofête’s Ohad Seroya:
Josie:
How was Retrofête started and what does Retrofête mean?
Ohad:
Yes, a beautiful question. My husband Aviad and I moved to New York 12 years ago and we opened a showroom. We were consulting to other brands and doing private labels. We really learned wholesale development and relationships while creating products for private labels. The showroom was growing, and we were helping so many labels. That’s when my husband had the idea that we should create our own brand. I didn’t want the stress, but my husband pushed me by telling me I could do this, because I always pushed myself to do more.
When we decided to come with the name, we had five people sit at a table (those five people are all with the company today) and we started to write stuff about myself. I always loved doing private labels and I was inspired by vintage. From the age of 17, I worked in fashion. I liked going to vintage and fashion houses. The beautiful dresses, beautiful techniques, I really appreciated the fashion of the past and then I could see it in the future. I had racks of dresses to dress my girlfriends, and this is how we came with the idea of retro…vintage. Then, Aviad and I love a party. If you come to our home, there will be a party with people, drinks, music, and food. And every time we go out, it's about the party of the people. We like to enjoy and create energy and have a good ambiance with everyone. So, we said party, it's one of the words. Then we translated party to the French word fête. This is how we created Retrofête
Josie:
Let’s talk about the story Retrofête’s FW25 campaign?
Ohad:
I brought a masculinity and feminine to the models looks. I wanted it to feel like there's an energy between them. You know, one day you feel like you want to be more edgy, bossy and sexy and the next day you want to be more fun and easy. I really tried to show the powerful woman in the campaign. 98% of my company is women employed. Women have always been so kind to me and have protected me. I owe them the way I am.
Josie:
I can see and feel a lot of your excitement and joy. Where does your joy come from?
Ohad:
I'm a normal person. You know, I will never hide what kind of person I am. I have some bad days, and I have some good days, but I learned to be, try to be much more positive. My grandmother always said, health is number one and to appreciate that I’m able to breathe, walk and be healthy. So, I do need to thank God, this is most important. I'm making my dream come true. I cry for that sometimes and I'm happy for it. I love what I'm doing. I'm really love what I'm doing.
Josie:
I love what you've shown me. Do you have a favorite piece from this collection?
Ohad:
To be honest, it’s hard. I love everything. The dresses that I draped, those might be one my favorites, but I really love everything!
Josie:
Who would you like to see wearing Retrofête?
Ohad:
When you see someone wearing your clothing walking down the street, you appreciate it that much more. Celebrities are great, like Beyonce or Taylor Swift wearing your pieces. But, when you see a person in a restaurant who went to buy your product and they’re wearing it as their own style, there’s something about that. Automatically, we create a connection. So, I always go to these people and create a conversation with them to show them my appreciation and to thank them for buying my product. As a designer, I tell everyone you have to listen to people.
Josie:
Are there any projects or collaborations that you see coming up soon that you'd like to share with Orlando Style readers?
Ohad:
Yes, we are doing a Retrofête pop up at The Standard hotel in Miami Beach this spring. The Standard is one of my favorite spots in Miami. The most beautiful sunset, people and Retrofête... it’s so my vibe.

A Vibrant Seasonal Cocktail
As the days grow warmer and the first hints of spring emerge, the Spring Ember Spritz is the perfect cocktail to bridge the seasons. This refreshing drink combines the citrusy depth of blood orange with the subtle floral notes of elderflower liqueur, balanced by a light effervescence. Ingredients
2 oz blood orange juice
1.5 oz elderflower liqueur
1 oz dry gin (optional)
3 oz sparkling water or prosecco Ice cubes
Dried orange slice and a small dark blue flower for garnish
Instructions
Start by chilling your glassware in the freezer for about 10 minutes to enhance the drink’s crispness. Once chilled, fill the glass with fresh ice cubes, ensuring the cocktail remains refreshingly cold.
Pour in the blood orange juice, followed by the elderflower liqueur and gin if using. Stir gently to allow the flavors to blend while keeping the drink’s delicate balance intact. Slowly top the mixture with sparkling water or prosecco, allowing the bubbles to rise and infuse the drink with a light effervescence.
For the final touch, carefully place a dried orange slice on the rim of the glass, letting it slightly dip into the drink. Add a small dark blue flower on top, giving the cocktail a refined and seasonal aesthetic.
Serve immediately and savor the Spring Ember Spritz—a drink that embodies the fresh energy and subtle warmth of spring. Whether enjoyed at a lively gathering or as a quiet moment of indulgence, this cocktail offers a perfect harmony of citrus, floral, and sparkling notes. Cheers to the season of renewal!

Adanola:
Glow from Within
The Best Foods for Radiant, Healthy Skin
Your diet plays a vital role in the health and appearance of your skin. By incorporating skin-nourishing foods into your meals, you can support hydration, reduce inflammation, and protect against aging. Here are the top foods to help you achieve radiant skin.
1. Fatty Fish (Salmon, Mackerel, Sardines)
Fatty fish are packed with omega-3 fatty acids, essential for keeping your skin hydrated and preventing dryness. These healthy fats help maintain the skin's lipid barrier, locking in moisture and protecting against environmental damage. Omega3s also reduce inflammation, which can help manage conditions like acne and eczema.
Berries are loaded with antioxidants, particularly vitamin C, which is crucial for collagen production. Collagen gives your skin its firmness and elasticity, preventing wrinkles and sagging. The antioxidants in berries also protect the skin from free radical damage, keeping it youthful and glowing.
3. Leafy Greens (Spinach, Kale, Swiss Chard)
Leafy greens are high in vitamin A, which supports healthy skin cell turnover and helps repair damaged skin. Vitamin A also improves skin tone and texture, reducing the appearance of fine lines. Additionally, leafy greens are packed with other antioxidants that help fight inflammation and promote overall skin health.
4. Avocados
Avocados are rich in monounsaturated fats, which help maintain skin hydration and elasticity. These healthy fats support the skin’s natural barrier, locking in moisture and giving your complexion a soft, smooth texture. Avocados also contain vitamins C and E, which protect the skin from oxidative stress and support collagen production.
A balanced diet filled with these skin-boosting foods can help nourish your skin from the inside out. By focusing on healthy fats, vitamins, antioxidants, and hydration, you can support your skin's natural glow and protect it from the effects of aging and environmental damage.
CHANEL THE EFFECT
How the Iconic Brand Continues to Define Modern Luxury
In a world where trends come and go at lightning speed, Chanel remains the ultimate symbol of timeless elegance. More than just a fashion house, Chanel has shaped the very essence of modern luxury—from the enduring appeal of the little black dress to the unmistakable scent of Chanel No. 5. But what keeps this century-old brand at the forefront of style in 2025?
"Fashion is not about what you wear, but how you wear it—and Chanel has always known the way."
to reissued bag silhouettes, reflects a growing desire for timeless investment pieces over fleeting seasonal trends.
At the same time, Chanel’s presence extends far beyond fashion. With high-profile ambassadors, cinematic runway presentations, and a beauty empire that continues to break records, the house maintains a cultural influence that few can rival. Whether it’s a red carpet moment, a limitededition fragrance drop, or an exclusive Métiers d’Art collection, Chanel continues to define what luxury looks like—not just for today, but for the future.
Yet, what truly sets Chanel apart is its ability to evoke a feeling—an air of confidence, mystery, and effortless sophistication that transcends clothing. Owning a piece of Chanel isn’t just about luxury; it’s about becoming part of a legacy, one that whispers of rebellion, reinvention, and an unapologetic embrace of personal style. As fashion moves forward, one thing remains certain: Chanel isn’t just keeping up—it’s leading the way.
And while many luxury brands pivot to chase trends, Chanel remains unwavering in its identity. Whether it’s the meticulous craftsmanship behind each haute couture piece or the exclusivity of its limited-edition collections, the house continues to strike the perfect balance between aspiration and attainability. In a world oversaturated with fast fashion and fleeting status symbols, Chanel stands as a testament to the idea that true luxury isn’t just about what you wear—it’s about how it makes you feel.
As the quiet luxury movement takes over, Chanel effortlessly fits into the narrative of understated opulence, proving that true style isn’t about being loud—it’s about being legendary. From its signature tweed jackets and quilted handbags to its commitment to craftsmanship and innovation, Chanel continues to set the standard for what it means to be effortlessly chic. But beyond aesthetics, the brand is evolving, embracing sustainability, digital innovation, and a new generation of fashion lovers who crave authenticity with their luxury.
Part of Chanel’s enduring appeal lies in its ability to blend heritage with reinvention. While the interlocking C’s remain one of the most recognizable symbols in fashion, the brand constantly reinterprets its classics for modern audiences. The Importance of Saying No When You Feel Like No
By Natalie Smith
Many people struggle with saying no, often out of fear of disappointing others, feeling guilty, or missing out on opportunities. However, learning to say no when you feel like no is essential for maintaining your well-being, setting boundaries, and prioritizing what truly matters to you.
Protecting Your Mental and Emotional Well-Being
Saying yes when you really want to say no can lead to stress, burnout, and emotional exhaustion. When you constantly put others’ needs before your own, you may start to feel resentful or overwhelmed. Your time and energy are valuable, and it’s important to protect them. Saying no allows you to focus on self-care and avoid unnecessary pressure.
Establishing Healthy Boundaries
Boundaries help define how you allow others to treat you and what you are willing to accept. When you
say no, you are reinforcing your personal limits and teaching others to respect them. This is crucial in personal relationships, workplace dynamics, and social interactions. Clear boundaries lead to healthier connections and prevent you from being taken advantage of.
Building Confidence and Self-Respect
When you stand firm in your decisions, you develop a stronger sense of self-respect and confidence. You are showing yourself and others that your feelings, time, and commitments matter. Confidence grows when you honor your own needs rather than constantly seeking approval from others.
Avoiding Unnecessary Commitments
It’s s easy to agree to things in the moment, only to regret them later. Whether it’s s taking on extra work, attending an event you’re not interested in, or helping someone when you don’t have the capacity, saying yes when you mean no can lead to unnecessary obligations. Being selective about where you
invest your time ensures that you can focus on what truly aligns with your goals and values.
How to Say No Without Guilt
If you struggle with saying no, try these approaches:
1. Be direct but polite: “I appreciate the offer, but I have to decline.”
2. Offer an alternative: “ I can’t help today, but maybe another time.”
3. Use I statements: “ I don’t have the capacity for this right now.”
4. Practice: “ The more you say no, the easier it becomes.”
Final Thoughts
Saying no is not selfish; it is an act of self-care. Trust your instincts, honor your feelings, and remember that you don’t t owe anyone an explanation for prioritizing yourself. The more you practice setting boundaries, the more empowered and in control of your life you will feel.

Why, and how, to PLAN FOR LONGEVITY
by Donald C. Schultz

When creating a long-term investment strategy, you need to think about your goals, circumstances, risk tolerance and liquidity needs. But you should also place considerable weight on one other factor: your projected longevity.
Your estimated life span can help determine how much you need to save and invest, how much you can afford to withdraw each year from your retirement accounts, how much insurance to carry, and how much you may be able to leave to your family.
Of course, none of us can say for sure how long we will live. We might look at our family history of longevity and our own health status for clues. But a growing body of evidence suggests a lot of us are actually underestimating how long we are going to be around.
Life spans are going up
According to the National Center for Health Statistics, a 65-year-old man is expected to live another 19.5 years, on average, and a 65-year-old woman can anticipate living another 20.7 years. Compared to an average American life expectancy of 68.2 years in 1950, these numbers indicate a clear trend toward greater longevity. For further proof, the population of U.S. centenarians (those reaching 100 years of age) is expected to quadruple over the next three decades, according to a 2024 Pew Research Center report.
Given these facts, you might want to review your portfolio to determine if it is well-positioned to help sustain you for a longer lifetime than you may once have envisioned – keeping in mind that investing successfully for longevity is more than a matter of how much you
invest. You may also want to reevaluate how you are investing.
During your retirement years, when you rely on some of your investments for income, you need growth potential in your portfolio as well. Growth may help you prepare for a longer time horizon.
Costs are going up too
Until recently, inflation had been low for several years. But even at a relatively low 3 percent inflation rate, prices double roughly every 25 years. Depending on your personal needs, your spending may go up over time. For example, you may pay for more doctor’s office visits and prescriptions to help you stay healthy as you get older.
To help your purchasing power keep up with inflation, you should revisit your asset allocations and consider diversifying your portfolio with investments that may provide the growth you need for a longer retirement. By planning for greater longevity, you can help yourself feel more confident about your ability to enjoy a long and happy retirement.

It stands as a testament to the brand’s relentless pursuit of driving perfection, offering the exhilaration of a high-performance sports car with the unfiltered joy of open-top freedom. For those who live for the thrill of the drive, the Vantage Roadster is not just a car—it’s an experience.

PUERTO RICO DREAMY
BY CATHLEEN K. BODE
Imagine catching a quick flight from Orlando and arriving in the heart and soul of the Caribbean! Puerto Rico is an archipelago in the Caribbean Sea consisting of the main island, four small islands, and hundreds of cays and islets.
After disembarking the plane I was looking for the immigration line, however, I found myself navigating to the baggage claim area and soon I was outside of the airport. Puerto Rico (Spanish for ‘rich port’; abbreviated PR), officially the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, is a self-governing Caribbean archipelago and island organized as an unincorporated territory of the United States under the designation of commonwealth.
So, if you’re visiting from any part of the U.S., you don’t have to exchange your currency, update your cell phone plan for international service, or go through customs or immigration. An unforgettable Caribbean getaway is within easy reach—no passport required. There’s Uber and taxis right outside of the airport ready to take you to wherever you want to go.
With smiling faces and a helpful hand, I instantly felt that genuine friendliness of the Puerto Rican people. I felt good. Almost everyone speaks English even though Spanish is the dominant language.
I opted for a taxi and I was on my way to the iconic Caribe Hilton in San Juan, which is approximately 10 minutes drive from the San Juan Airport Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport.
Caribe Hilton is known as Hilton’s first international hotel and the birthplace of the Piña Colada. Located on a secluded beachfront peninsula in the heart of San Juan’s city center, this AAA Four Diamond award-winning resort celebrated its 75th anniversary! Luxury abounds with open frescos and, in the center of the grand lobby is the Caribe Bar with floor to ceiling glass windows, welcoming guests in with panoramic ocean views.
An unforgettable Caribbean getaway is within easy reach—no passport required.
As the story goes—The piña colada was first created in1954 right here at the Caribe Hilton by bartender Ramón “Monchito” Marrero. So, If you like piña coladas, you should know the famous tropical drink is Puerto Rico’s national drink! This iconic drink goes beyond savoring the mix of pineapple juice, coconut cream, and rum. It’s synonymous with tropical breezes, the warm Caribbean sun and celebrating the good life with dear friends, old & new.
What’s more, this 7-acre oasis is ideally situated near cultural attractions, making it a prime location for vacationers who desire both serene beach scapes and urban excitement!
After opening its doors in 1949, the Caribe Hilton immediately attracted the rich and famous and was all the buzz! Attracting the likes of Gloria Swanson, a glamorous Hollywood star during the 1920s silent movie era. She also starred as the fading movie queen Norma Desmond in the 1950 film Sunset Boulevard. Elizabeth Taylor spent part of her first honeymoon here in 1950 with Conrad Hilton, Jr., son of Hilton Hotels’ founder, Conrad Hilton. Even President Barack Obama visited in 2011.
A stream of big names from movie greats, dignitaries, and athletes will grace the corridors of the iconic Caribe Hilton in the coming decades … Oh! If these walls could talk!
After checking-in at the breezy, open air front desk, I leisurely walked around to see what they had to offer before heading up to my room on the 19th floor of the Wave wing, which, is in the tallest tower at the resort. The Caribe Hilton has a variety of room categories to suit your taste and spread across multiple buildings. The hotel room was quite large, comfortable and well-appointed with a king bed, a large flat screen TV, marble bathroom with a walk-in shower, and a spacious balcony. Esthetically pleasing and clean. It had commanding vistas overlooking its beautiful grounds and the ocean beyond. I knew then that I have arrived on a tropical island ready to immerse myself in all its beauty.
On property, there are several fine dining restaurants to choose from. Rustica and Lola’s—two exceptional dining options located in one spot, offering something for every palate. Guests can choose Italian cuisine at La Rustica,
known for its freshly prepared antipasti, seafood, and an impressive selection of pastas, paired with wines from renowned vineyards worldwide. If you’re wanting Latin flavors look no further than Lola’s, where you can enjoy traditional Puerto Rican dishes featuring classics like mofongo filled with shrimp, skirt steak, or fried pork, alongside authentic sides such as arañitas, arroz mamposteado, and fresh seafood.
Morton’s The Steakhouse—when you’re in the mood for that classic Morton’s dining experience with prime-aged beef and signature steakhouse sides with a killer martini, then this is the place for you.
Ocean Restaurant & Lounge is an ultra lounge that celebrates the culinary fusion of Spanish and Creole melanges, unique island spices and fresh farm-to-table herbs to create the ultimate foodie burlesque. A perfect place for a relaxed nightcap before heading up to your room.
Early risers—Nectar del Caribe is the spot for you! Savor a delightful breakfast buffet or à la carte options in a vibrant tropical setting. Starbucks—Yes, Starbucks fans, there is a

Starbucks on property. Grab your favorite coffee and a quick bite to fuel your morning. Ice Cream & Cookies—a more local spot offering refreshing açaí bowls, smoothies, coffee, and a variety of sandwiches alongside its signature treats.
Late risers—In-Room Dining: Relax in your room with breakfast delivered right to your door.
From piña coladas to rum tastings, weddings and toasting to the bride and groom, luxury spa days and endless beach waves—this special place has it all.
The people of Puerto Rico refer to themselves as Boricuas. The word Boricua comes from Borinquen or Borikén a term derived from the indigenous Taínos who inhabited Puerto Rico for hundreds of years before the Spanish arrived in 1493. Puerto Ricans use the term Boricua as an expression of cultural and ancestral pride in their island.
Old San Juan is the oldest settlement within Puerto Rico and the historic colonial district of the city of San Juan. The architecture of Old San Juan was made in grids, which allowed
cross-ventilation between its buildings and squares. So, when you walk through the cobblestoned streets, to avoid the heat you just have to walk on the shaded side of the street.
Old San Juan features colorful Spanish colonial buildings and 16th-century landmarks including El Morro and La Fortaleza, massive fortresses with sweeping ocean views, as well as the Paseo De La Princesa—the city’s most beloved and beautiful bayside promenade. Paseo De La Princesa is a 19th-century promenade that has stretched to become a reflection of the city’s center of commerce and cultural exchange. Its timeless charm has transformed into a market and a romantic and elegant pathway to enjoy day and night. You’ll also find a lovely restaurant, La Princesa Gastrobar, an authentic Puerto Rican gastronomic experience inspired by historic cookbooks from 1859-1950 and cherished family recipes.
There is so much to see and enjoy in San Juan—the people are so warm, the culture so hospitable, and the food is oh so good! There are many local cafes that cater to the growing movement of coffee aficionados, and, at night the music fills the air with a blend of
instruments, sounds and cultures. The music in Puerto Rico has hints of Caribbean, African, Spanish and Taíno influence. From salsa and merengue to plena and reggaetón, you’ll find it has a style of its own, one that’s as lively and unique as the island itself. So, go ahead and immerse yourself to the vibrant atmosphere of Calle San Sebastián, mingling and dancing with the locals, and stopping by iconic spots like La Factoria, The Cannon Club at Gallery Inn, and El Batey Bar.
You may even see Bad Bunny performed an impromptu concert like he did for fans from the rooftop of a gas station in San Juan!
I leave this beautiful island with a newfound respect of Puerto Rico’s complex history and depart with deep appreciation of its resilient people.

MOCHA MOUSSE: COLOR OF VERSATILITY
By Omayra La Bella ™
Pantone, the global authority on color trends, has crowned a shade of brown as its “Color of the Year.”
Finally gaining center stage is Mocha Mousse, the color of choice for 2025 fashion. It is influencing the fashion industry, which I have seen first-hand, as it is shown on runways and the red carpets around the world. Mocha Mousse is the fashion equivalent of a rich chocolate pudding; it is a deep, elegant brown with a hint of warmth, it is rich, decadent, and stylish. Mocha Mousse extends our perceptions of the browns from being humble and grounded, to embracing aspirational and luxury.
Several well-known designers have adopted this color on the runway recognizing this trend. Chloé, Loewe, and Bottega Veneta have all showcased outfits that are soaked in brown hues, ranging from sleek, structured handbags to oversized mocha coats. Brown’s subtle richness has a classic yet contemporary feel, making it a wardrobe staple for anybody looking for something different from the typical neutrals. Wearing leather purses, fitted coats, and brown knits demonstrates that brown is everything but basic. This color’s charm lies in its versatility; it may lend a more casual appearance, a luxurious touch or depth to a minimalist one. These days, brown purses made of suede and vintage leather are particularly fashionable since they give a chic burst of color.
Mocha Mousse has a remarkable knack for finding balance; it feels approachable despite its elegant appearance. It does not seem like an overt effort. It is a classic neutral, and neutrals are constantly in style, the way they are styled is what changes. Because Mocha Mousse is so adaptable and simple to work with, it will change with the times without ever being outdated. Because of this duality, the color stands out in both high fashion and casual wear. I personally enjoy wearing this color throughout the year, for weekend brunch, galas, or dressed down sporting events, even during business
meetings. My wardrobe is all about this color in 2025. One of my favorite combinations is mocha mousse and sky blue. The shade has been used on runways with dramatic silhouettes and opulent materials, but in everyday life, it looks great with sophisticated evening ensembles and well-dressed daytime ensembles.
The Emotional Impact of Mocha Mousse
Emotions are influenced by color, and Mocha Mousse is no different. This tone stems from sentiments of comfort, indulgence, and nostalgia. It makes us appreciate the trivial things in life, like the richness of a chocolate treat, the feel of a leather-bound book, or hot cocoa by the fire. Mocha mousse and other dark hues are grounding psychologically. They convey stability and dependability, which are attributes that people look for in a world that is unpredictable and fast-paced. In addition to appealing to the senses, the color makes places feel cozier and friendlier. This hue encases you in a symbolic embrace.
Mocha mousse is unquestionably the ideal hue for 2025 since it is cozy, inviting, and stylish. This deep, earthy tone will be present everywhere, whether you are using it in your knitwear, accessories, or outerwear. Since brown is now officially the new black, feel free to embrace the trend. More than just a color, Mocha Mousse symbolizes the direction our society is headed in. It is ideal for a world-seeking balance and connection because of its elegance and adaptability. We are honoring the strength of well-measured designs and the beauty of simplicity by adopting this tone.

IS THE FLIP PHONE
MOTOROLA & THE Y2K
TECH REVIVAL
The Return of the Razr, Paris Hilton, and the Influence of Nostalgia
By Zoe Antonietta
Motorola’s latest release brings a fresh twist to the iconic Razr, reimagining the classic flip phone for today’s techsavvy consumer while embracing nostalgia in a way that feels both comfortable and innovative. The limitededition Razr Plus, designed in collaboration with Paris Hilton, channels the luxury and glamour of the early 2000s with a modern edge. Its sleek pink exterior is a nod to the fashion-forward, larger-than-life aesthetic that defined the era, complete with Hilton’s signature engravings, making it more than just a phone—it’s a collector’s item and a tribute to the past.
Hilton herself, a living embodiment of early 2000s pop culture, was often seen carrying the original Razr V3 during her time on The Simple Life, making her the perfect figurehead for this stylish revival. Her partnership with Motorola isn’t just about selling a product; it’s a reunion with an era that many still hold dear. The launch campaign, which takes us into a dreamlike world of indulgence and excess, features Hilton surrounded by an all-pink, Barbie-esque walk-in closet dripping with diamonds and luxury. A chandelier hangs overhead, illuminating an expansive wardrobe of shimmering outfits. The campaign transports viewers straight back to the golden age of pop culture excess, where everything seemed larger than life and dripping in glitz and glamour.
The Y2K Influence: Why Flip Phones & Early 2000s Trends Keep Returning
Fashion and technology have always had a cyclical relationship, borrowing from the past to reinvent the future. The Y2K aesthetic—defined by metallics, logomania, and an experimental mix of futuristic meets kitsch—has made a major comeback in recent years, much to the delight of fashionistas and tech lovers alike. What was once seen as tacky or outdated has been redefined by a new generation, one that cherishes the excess and whimsy of the early 2000s. Major fashion houses like Blumarine, Diesel, and Juicy Couture have embraced the revival of these bold, flashy designs, bringing them into the modern age with updated cuts and materials. Social media, particularly platforms like TikTok, has been instrumental in this resurgence, with Gen Z creating viral content that showcases the return of velour tracksuits, platform heels, and butterfly clips—items once worn by pop icons like Britney Spears and Destiny’s Child.
Technology has followed suit with its own Y2K-inspired revival. The return of the flip phone isn’t merely a fashion statement; it represents a shift in lifestyle and behavior. The so-called “digital detox” movement has gained significant momentum, especially among younger generations who feel overwhelmed by the constant barrage of notifications and information. The flip phone offers an escape from the always-on culture of smartphones, providing a break from the endless scrolling and screen time. By reconnecting with the simplicity of the early 2000s, clamshell phones allow users to curate their digital lives in a more mindful and controlled way. While they still offer modern essentials like music streaming, messaging, and social media access, they invite users to reclaim some of the mental clarity and space that was lost in the rapid advancement of smartphone technology.
Paris Hilton & Motorola: A Perfect Pairing
Paris Hilton’s influence on Y2K culture is undeniable, and her partnership with Motorola represents a full-circle moment for both her career and the phone brand. Hilton, with her flawless ability to turn anything into an icon—from her designer handbags to her catchphrase “That’s hot”— was at the forefront of the Y2K revolution,
making her the perfect partner for this limited-edition phone. The phrase “That’s hot” is now engraved on the new Razr, symbolizing Hilton’s indelible mark on the era and her continued relevance in today’s cultural landscape.
The partnership isn’t just about nostalgia; it’s about how trends from the past continue to inform and influence the present. Hilton’s signature style, which blends glamour with an almost surreal sense of fun and excess, perfectly matches the ethos of the limited-edition Razr. Much like her career, the phone represents a bridge between two worlds: one defined by extravagant luxury and the other by cutting-edge technology. Hilton’s pink Razr doesn’t just look back at a bygone era; it celebrates how that era continues to shape our modern-day tastes and sensibilities. Her role in this campaign is as much about reminding us of the past as it is about asserting her influence in today’s cultural conversations, ensuring that her legacy remains a major part of modern pop culture.
The Future of Flip Phones & Modern Trends
The resurgence of flip phones is just one example of how modern trends continue to be inspired by the past. From early
2000s fashion to tech innovations, the cyclical nature of cultural trends has never been more apparent. The return of the flip phone, with its nostalgic appeal, is not just a fleeting fashion statement—it’s a glimpse into a broader cultural shift. As more people seek balance in their digital lives, devices like the Razr offer a unique solution: they combine the charm of the past with the functionality of the present. With its retro design and modern features, the Razr appeals to both those nostalgic for the days of clamshell phones and those looking for a simpler, more mindful way to connect.
In the coming years, we can expect to see more innovations that blend modern technology with nostalgia. With iconic figures like Paris Hilton at the helm, driving the resurgence of past trends, it’s clear that the past will continue to influence the future. The glamorous revival of the early 2000s, led by brands like Motorola and influencers like Hilton, is not just a momentary nostalgia trip—it’s a testament to how trends evolve, adapt, and always have the potential to re-emerge in exciting, unexpected ways.

The Years Love
A LOOK AT CELEBRITY COUPLES WITH A SIGNIFICANT AGE GAP
In the high-profile world of celebrity relationships, significant age gaps often capture as much attention as the love stories themselves. Whether it’s an iconic power couple or a questionable pairing that makes you raise those eyebrows, there’s just something so intriguing about the dynamics between A-list partners of different ages. From Hollywood stars to music industry legends, here’s a closer look at some of the most talked-about A-list couples who’ve had significant age differences.
By Riesa Pascal-Porro
PRIYANKA CHOPRA & NICK JONAS
AGE GAP: 10 YEARS
Nick and Priyanka first met through mutual friends and quickly hit it off in spite of their 10 year age gap. The Jonas Brothers performer and Bollywood actress wed in 2018 and welcomed their first child together in January 2022. While their relationship has certainly faced media attention due to their age difference and fast-paced romance, the couple have handled public scrutiny with grace.
MARIAH CAREY & NICK CANNON
AGE GAP: 11 YEARS
With an 11 year age difference, I know I wasn’t the only one questioning everything I thought I knew when Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon were married in 2008. In fact, I think pretty much the whole world let out a collective “huh?” as they quickly became one of Hollywood’s most high-profile couples. In 2011 they welcomed twins together and it seemed like maybe we were all wrong, but then the other shoe finally dropped. In 2014, they seperated and then eventually divorced—no surprise there—but fortunately they have remained committed to coparenting their twins and maintaining a friendly relationship for their stake.
BEYONCÉ & JAY-Z
AGE GAP: 12 YEARS
It’s been almost 25 years since Jay-Z and Beyoncé began dating so it’s easy to forget that such a large age gap exists between the powerful music couple. Beyoncé was still a teenager at just 19 years old when they first got together while Jay-Z was in his 30s. In spite of cheating allegations, the couple will be celebrating their 18th wedding anniversary this year and are committed to one another and their three children.
DEMI MOORE & ASHTON KUTCHER
AGE GAP: 15 YEARS
Let’s turn up the age-gap dial a little further and discuss one of the most talked-about romances when it comes to celebrity men with older women. Demi and Ashton’s relationship was constantly under the public microscope with critics often questioning their compatibility, but both were firm in their declaration that age was “just a number” for them. Whether it’s true or not that the age-gap was never a problem, they eventually did divorce with Ashton going on to date and marry his That 70s Show co-star, Mila Kunis. Ashton and his now younger wife remain happily married and share two children together.
GEORGE CLOONEY & AMAL CLOONEY
AGE GAP: 17 YEARS
Despite their high-profile careers, George and Amal tend to keep a relatively private life, but that didn’t stop the world from noticing their 17 year age gap when they were first spotted together in 2013. The Hollywood star and human rights lawyer were married just one year later and today they are widely known for their philanthropy and social justice efforts. They are often seen as one of Hollywood’s most admired celebrity couples and will be celebrating their 11th anniversary in 2025.
HARRISON FORD & CALISTA FLOCKHART
AGE GAP: 22 YEARS
Even though the age gap is a significant one at 22 years, the bond between Harrison and Calista truly seems to transcends the years between them. The actress was 38 and the Indiana Jones star was already 60 when they first got together in 2002.
After 8 years of dating, the low-key, but much loved couple were finally married and seem to remain happily married to this day.
CATHERINE ZETA-JONES & MICHAEL DOUGLAS
AGE GAP: 25 YEARS
Although they’ve faced some ups and downs in their relationship, including a brief separation in 2013, Catherine and Michael continue to share their lives together and will be celebrating their 26th wedding anniversary this year. With an age difference of 25 years between them, the couple have certainly sparked some curiosity and scrutiny, but they have always spoken highly of their relationship, showing that their bond goes beyond numbers!
CELINE DION & RENÉ ANGÉLIL
AGE GAP: 26 YEARS
Perhaps one of the most well-known age gaps in any celebrity relationship is that of legendary singer Celine Dion and her late husband René Angéli. Celine met René when she was just 12 years old, but their relationship began as a professional one. He was actually her manager and was largely responsible for the launch of her career. They two didn’t become romantically involved until Celine was 19 years old and when they were married in 1994, Celine was 26 years old and René was 52. Despite the age gap, the couple shared a deep love for one another and were happily married for over 20 years before René’s passing in 2016.

A FLORAL, ELEGANT ESCAPE
Carolina Herrera’s Fall 2025 Collection
Carolina Herrera’s Fall 2025 collection, designed by Wes Gordon, offers a breathtaking glimpse into a fresh take on sophistication, full of intricate florals and pastel palettes. This season, Gordon takes the iconic Herrera aesthetic and brings it forward, breathing new life into it with modern twists on classic femininity. Drawing inspiration from the 1979 film Being There, the collection embraces nature, simplicity, and the elegance of unexpected beauty.
Floral motifs appear prominently in the collection, from delicate embroidery to oversized blossoms on sleek trousers. Gordon’s signature modernity shines through with the way floral patterns were used in unexpected ways—on the waistband of trousers or the lapels of jackets, offering a chic yet fresh take on a traditional design. These elements are a clear nod to nature, yet they remain polished enough for a cosmopolitan audience.
Pastels, a hallmark of spring, are reimagined for fall in a soft, elegant manner. Pinks, blues, and lavenders create an aura of softness while maintaining an air of sophistication. These colors lend themselves to a sense of renewal and optimism, while the garments’ structured cuts maintain a sense of power and presence. The palette blends with sleek, tailored silhouettes that speak to a timeless, elegant appeal.
One of the most notable aspects of the collection is Gordon’s modern approach to femininity. He
contrasts soft, flowing fabrics with structured tailoring, creating an ideal balance between strength and softness. The collection’s sexiest moments come from garments like the pinstriped suit with a midriff cut, juxtaposed with the elegance of flowing skirts.
The accessories, too, follow this theme of natural elegance. Delicate jewelry, statement handbags, and minimal yet chic footwear all elevate the collection without overpowering it. Each accessory complements the garments perfectly, offering a sense of understated refinement. They highlight the designer’s approach to creating a complete look that is both polished and personal.
The collection’s craftsmanship is reflected in the intricate layers of Chantilly lace, finely tailored suits, and delicate, oversized garments. Gordon masterfully balanced the formality of structured pieces with the playfulness of floral prints and loose silhouettes.
As a whole, Carolina Herrera’s Fall 2025 collection invites the wearer to experience elegance, simplicity, and a soft but bold kind of beauty. Whether through the stunning floral details or the graceful pastel hues, this collection offers an opportunity to step into the new season with confidence and style. Wes Gordon’s work ensures that Carolina Herrera remains a beacon of timeless sophistication in the world of fashion.

AARON PROULX
The Doctor’s Lawyer, PLLC
In 2022, Aaron founded The Doctor’s Lawyer, PLLC, where he represents medical providers who treat patients involved in personal injury litigation. These providers often become targets of invasive discovery by the liability insurance industry, which seeks access to private, financial, and trade secret information.
Aaron’s niche practice was shaped by his years as an insurance defense attorney (2008–2021). As a partner at Smoak, Chistolini, and Barnett, he handled complex discovery issues involving medical providers. During this time, he co-authored a chapter with Judge Elizabeth Rice in the Handbook on Civil Discovery Practice. They organized this complex area of law into a cohesive format for Florida judges.
Today, Aaron applies his expertise to protect clients from this same invasive discovery. The Florida Tort Reform Act of 2023 introduced sweeping changes that Aaron witnessed create industry-wide confusion. Accordingly, Aaron became a specialist on the statute and regularly publishes articles in Personal Injury Magazine and presents seminars across Florida to help medical providers navigate and thrive despite the new legal landscape.
Before entering private practice, Aaron served as Staff Attorney to Justice Barbara Pariente at the Florida Supreme Court. There, he honed the analytical, writing, and advocacy skills that have defined his legal career.
Aaron graduated cum laude from Stetson University College of Law, where he was named Most Outstanding Editor of the Stetson Law Review, received the James Carlisle Rogers Award for the best critical paper on a Supreme Court line of cases, and had his case note published in the Stetson Law Review.
Outside of law, Aaron is active in local sports leagues and enjoys writing and producing music in his home studio.

J. DANIEL “DAN” CLARK
Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer
Dan Clark may be a nationally ranked civil trial lawyer, but he never forgets his Tampa roots—born and raised, and still a proud resident today.
“I was born and brought up here, and I went to Jesuit High School,” he says.
“I left to earn my college degree from Duke University, but as soon as I graduated, I came right back to Florida.”
When he wasn’t studying at Duke, Clark was on the football field as a tight end, earning honorable mention as an All-Atlantic Coast Conference athlete.
After completing his undergraduate studies, he attended Stetson University College of Law, where he was a member of the Stetson Law Review and the Stetson Trial Team. He also had the opportunity to work for the Honorable Elizabeth A. Kovachevich, former Chief Judge of Florida’s Middle District.
“Those experiences had a huge influence on me,” he says. “They ignited my passion for becoming a trial lawyer.”
Now, more than 30 years after graduating from Duke, Clark is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by The Florida Bar, an elected member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), and the managing partner of Clark & Martino, P.A.—the Tampa-based law firm founded by his father.
“What makes me proud is the success we’ve had in recovering compensation for people wronged by negligence or wrongdoing,” he says.
“I’m in awe of the fact that we have secured over half a billion dollars in damages for the clients who have come to us for help.”
Among those judgments is a recent $100 million consumer class-action award for Floridians wronged by a local developer who collected illegal fees.
“That was one of the largest consumer class-action cases in Florida history,” Clark notes.
Clark’s accolades include being ranked among The Best Lawyers in America. His firm is recognized as a Best Law Firm by U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers.
J. Ronald “Ron” Denman is a shareholder and partner at Bleakley Bavol Denman & Grace (BBDG), where he brings extensive courtroom experience in complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts nationwide. A veteran trial attorney with over 100 jury trials, Ron provides a broad range of legal services across multiple practice areas. While he continues to represent individuals and corporations in complex civil litigation, his trust, estate, and guardianship litigation practice has experienced significant growth after securing one of Florida’s highest professional negligence jury verdicts—further establishing BBDG as a vigorous advocate for trustees, beneficiaries, and other interested parties.
Ron began his legal career as a prosecutor in Sarasota before transitioning to products liability, professional liability, and commercial litigation.
During a hiatus from law, he led operations for a startup manufacturing and distribution company, ultimately growing annual revenues to $400 million. A Miami native, Ron relocated to Tampa in 2014 to join Bleakley Bavol, where his relentless energy and client-first approach have contributed to the firm’s rapid growth into a full-service law firm.
Ron thrives on the fast-paced, strategic challenges of litigation. His passion and drive fuel his zealous representation of clients, with the ultimate goal of making a meaningful difference for them. He also takes pride in mentoring young attorneys, encouraging them to push beyond their perceived limits and continuously grow in their legal careers.
Ron holds the prestigious Martindale-Hubbell AV® Preeminent™ rating and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Florida. When not practicing law, he spends his free time keeping up with his family and enjoying the many activities Tampa has to offer.
DAVID C. MURRAY, ESQ
Insurance Claim Attorney - Hurricane Law Expert
When you pay for insurance, you pay for a promise—a promise that when disaster strikes, your insurance company will help you rebuild. But too often, when it’s time for them to step up, they step back. For more than 20 years, David Murray has fought for policyholders, ensuring they receive the coverage and compensation they are owed.
Hurricanes Helene and Milton weren’t just storms—they were life-changing events. For countless policyholders, the real struggle began when their insurance companies refused to pay. Instead of honoring their commitments, insurers delay, deny, or underpay claims, forcing policyholders to fight for what they rightfully deserve.
“Insurance companies are quick to take your premiums, but when it’s time to pay, they look for loopholes. The big print in the policy gives you coverage, but the small print tries to take it away. I hold insurance companies accountable for the promises they made to policyholders.”
David has been awarded an AV Preeminent Rating by Martindale-Hubbell, recognized for his legal skill, integrity, and ethical standards in insurance coverage law. A leader in Tampa’s insurance litigation field, he doesn’t just fight in court—he fights in Tallahassee, working to strengthen consumer protections for policyholders. His expertise has been featured in news media and the award-winning documentary, Built
to Last: Buyer Beware, which exposes the challenges homeowners face in securing insurance payouts.
David’s advocacy extends beyond the courtroom. He is dedicated to helping foster children in Tampa, serving as a Guardian ad Litem and as Chair of the Heart Gallery of Tampa. Just as he fights for policyholders, he fights for foster children—helping them find forever families.
The storms have passed, but the fight for what’s owed is just beginning. When insurers back out, David Murray makes sure they pay what they owe—because a promise made should be a promise kept.

JOSEPH C. RUSSO, ESQ
Legal
Strategist
Joseph C. Russo, Esq. has been practicing law in the Tampa Bay area since 1997. His practice focuses on business contracts and transactions, including asset sales, real estate transactions, and the formation and management of business entities, start-ups, and small businesses. However, his primary service is providing outsourced “in-house” legal consulting to clients, offering guidance on employment issues, contracts, finance, intellectual property, insurance, and litigation matters.
Early in his career, as a small business owner himself, Joseph recognized the challenges small business owners face due to limited access to legal and professional advice. He also identified effective communication as a crucial factor in building successful, long-term relationships with his clients. Without access to an attorney and a network of trusted advisors, many small business owners struggle to achieve their desired success.
to Small Business
To address these needs, Joseph developed Business Secure™, an outsourced legal consulting program designed to provide clients with direct access not only to his legal expertise but also to a network of legal and business professionals. This program enables small business owners to focus on growth and long-term success.
Unlike traditional legal programs that primarily address legal problems after they occur, Business Secure™ is proactive, helping businesses navigate legal issues as they arise while also preventing problems before they happen.
By prioritizing his clients’ needs, Joseph’s outsourced legal consulting approach has created an environment that encourages business owners to seek legal and professional advice at critical moments. Ultimately, his mission is to empower clients to make informed, confident decisions that drive their business success. Joseph C. JODIE SMITH DVM
Metzler Veterinary Hospital
Dr. Jodie Smith is a recent NYC transplant to Clearwater, Florida, where she lives with her husband, son, black Lab, and three kitties. She brings over 25 years of veterinary experience to her new home.
At age 11, she lost her first beloved dog to a uterine infection—an event that set her on the path to becoming a veterinarian. Her mission has always been to prevent the suffering of animals by providing their families with knowledge and compassionate care to help their pets live healthier lives.
A summa cum laude graduate of NYU with a B.A. in Biology, Dr. Smith went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ohio State University, graduating magna cum laude. She then returned to Astoria, NY, where she rejoined the small, two-doctor practice she had worked at before vet school. Over the next 23 years, this practice, along with its clients and pets, became like family to her. She grew from a new associate to an owner/ partner, helping expand the practice to over five doctors and playing a key role in creating a new, larger facility. She built relationships with multiple generations of families and their pets.
Dr. Smith believes the best veterinarians are like the “family doctors” of the past. “We are there for your furbaby and your family from cradle to grave, helping through the best times and the hardest.”
“I love challenging cases, but as our pets live longer, I am also focused on palliative and end-of-life care. We need to treat the treatable, but we must also provide compassion and dignity when treatments can no longer improve quality of life. Our pets live in the moment, and we must ensure they have the best life possible.”
Dr. Smith has now found the perfect fit at Metzler. Her medical expertise complements Dr. Dorian’s specialty surgical skills, providing stability and continuity for clients and their pets. She is excited to have found her new purpose in Clearwater!
DR. MELISSA BROCK
General Practice and Emergency Veterinarian
Having been born and raised in Texas, Melissa grew up knowing she would be a veterinarian. Once she was old enough, Melissa began tailoring her education and goals in order to make her dreams a reality becoming involved as a teenager.
Shortly after her high school graduation, she moved to Austin obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from The University of Texas. After her undergraduate schooling, Melissa took a break from her studies to immerse herself in the veterinary world and attain more hands-on experience preparing herself for veterinary school. During that time, she worked primarily in general practice as well as emergency medicine. After enjoying her time in the field, she jumped back into the ‘school scene’ intent on pursuing a Master’s Degree in Wildlife and Conservation Medicine, but was accepted to St. George’s University in Grenada prior to graduation.
Living in an entirely different country over 4,000 miles from family, she quickly learned the difference between an ‘essential’ and a ‘luxury’. Throughout her
veterinary schooling, she explored multiple fields of medicine through her externships, including exotics, equine and integrative medicine, and even travelled to Africa to learn more about wildlife, conservation, and rehabilitation. Additionally, while in Grenada, she ended up meeting her husband in 2016, marrying in 2018, and embarking on their journey through his US immigration process.
After obtaining her lifelong dream, she moved to Florida and completed an internship in emergency medicine. Shortly after, her husband was finally able to join her after their 3year-long immigration process. Since then, she has been trying to find her niche in the wide world of veterinary medicine, alternating between general practice with exotic care, and emergency medicine.
Ultimately, Melissa feels truly fortunate to have her career in veterinary medicine, being able to help those without a voice.

She extends her heartfelt gratitude to those who have supported her journey:
“To all the past and present clients, staff, and doctors I’ve had the privilege of working with and learning from—thank you. And to my family, friends, and loved ones, your unwavering support means the world to me. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.”
