pring is here and It is the perfect time to de-clutter, not just your space, but your mind as well. Here’s a spring checklist that covers all of you: Mind, body, and soul. Consider checking off these items not only for the season, but as a reminder for consistent wellbeing throughout.
De-Clutter As every season comes along, we prioritize what we need, and what we no longer need to hold on to - we remove the clutter. When it comes to our mind, it should be no different. To ease the mind, work on removing thoughts that no longer serve you. A good way to do this is by practicing breath work and meditation. Bring your mind into stillness and look within to find inner peace.
Detox We all need a good cleanse sometimes. A cleanse does more than help our bodies heal, it brings clarity to the mind. It removes everyday toxins that can create brain fog among other obstacles. Consider adding a cleanse to your list of self-care. There are plenty recipes out there. I personally enjoy following the ones in the book Cleanse to Heal by Anthony William, also known as the “Medical Medium.”
Recharge You don’t have to go on vacation to feel recharged. You can do so in the comfort of your very home, or any place and brings you joy. All it takes is an hour or less to let go of the busy around you and hone in on the present moment. Recharge by participating in what energizes you. Is it being around your loved ones? Is it plugging off and reading a book? Do whatever that is for you consistently and you’ll find burnout doesn’t stand as much of a chance.
Rejuvenate Under the Sun In other words, get a boost of serotonin. Sunlight is responsible for helping your brain release serotonin which is directly linked to mood boosting. This can help you feel more refreshed and joyful, on top of feeling more focused. Now that beach season is among us, it’s a great time to get out and get a dose of sun therapy. Avoiding the beach during spring break? That’s okay too! Any way that you take in the natural light is acceptable, whether it is going for a walk in the park, lounging in the yard, or having lunch outdoors. Keep in mind, when under the sun, it is important to protect yourself from ultraviolet rays by wearing a clean SPF sunscreen of 30 or higher.
