Scott K. Rineer. MD, MPH FACEP FAAEM CAPT MC (FS/FMF) USN (Ret) Additionally, Dr Rineer provided medical coverage for several WWII fifty-year anniversaries throughout the Pacific Rim; to include Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima as well as medical coverage for several space shuttle launches and landings as a NASA flight surgeon. Between 1995-1998, post-graduate residency training in Emergency Medicine (EM) at the Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD) included Tactical Emergency Medicine (TEM); supporting local, state and federal law enforcement agencies and specialized, confined space rescues with urban search and rescue teams (CA USAR TF-8). In June 1998, Dr Rineer reported as attending physician to Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton (NHCP) where he served as EMS medical director and EMT director for MCB Camp Pendleton. Additionally, he served Naval Hospital Okinawa on several occasions prior to returning as attending physician at NMCSD EM residency program in early 2000. Between 2000-2002 as medical director at Marine Corps’ Chemical Biological Incident Response Force (CBIRF), multiple real world responses were conducted. During this time, he was interviewed as a finalist in selection for service at the White House Medical Unit. After separating from active duty service in September 2002, he immediately affiliated with the Naval Reserve Forces where he served on several detachments in Prince Salton Air Base, Saudi Arabia; Djibouti, Djibouti, and Al Udeid, Qatar in CENTCOM as well as throughout both Pacific and European Theaters. Relief efforts with Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, Louisiana in 2005 marked many aeromedical episodes. In addition, Dr. Rineer served in leadership positions as Wing Surgeon, Commander Fleet Logistics Support Wing (CFLSW); Commanding Officer, NR 4MAW Medical MAG49, NAS Willow Grove, PA.

Dr. Scott Kain Rineer is a Tampa Bay emergency physician who

has worked in a variety of different local hospital departments. He continues to work full time despite becoming a local small business owner, renting high value motorcycles; Reindeer 06 Rides LLC (www. Reindeer06RidesLLC.com).Additionally, he is preparing for law school with the intent of matriculating into Stetson University College of Law full time at the beautiful Gulfport, Florida campus. With his extensive background, he is strongly considering a campaign to serve in public office at the federal level. Dr. Rineer graduated from Allegheny College in May 1985 and completed one year of graduate studies at Georgetown University. Dr. Rineer’s military career commenced via the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine, where he graduated with a Doctorate in Medicine in May 1990: He completed “Deep Freeze”, Antarctica; earned USN/USMC parachutist designation as well as the Army’s prestigious expeditionary field medical badge (EFMB). After completion of a transitional internship at the Naval Hospital San Diego (NHSD) in 1991, Dr Rineer was assigned as a General Medical Officer at the Recruit Training Command (RTC) in San Diego.

A mobilization to active duty followed as the Force Surgeon, US Marine Corps Forces Central Command (USMARCENT) between 2008-2011, where Dr Rineer was responsible for the medical laydown and care for both OIF and OEF conflicts. He was directly responsible for coordinating the implementation of the Royal Jordanian Medical Services (RJMS) alongside USMC/USN, joint and coalition medical forces. Here he worked directly for LGENs Joseph F. Dunford, Jr, then COMUSMARCENT years prior to the General’s selection as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS). During his combat tours, Captain Rineer earned the Combat Action Ribbon. Dr. Rineer’s additional post-graduation training includes a Masters in Public Health (MPH) in Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance at USF’s College of Public Health. This was followed by Aerospace Medicine Residency; completion of the USAF Critical Care Air Transport Team (CCAT) training and additional aeromedical training prior to reporting as the Senior Medical Officer aboard the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76). He then completed six months of flight surgery training at the Naval Aerospace Medical Institute (NAMI) in Pensacola, Florida, prior to reporting to the Second Marine Aircraft Wing, MCAS Cherry Point, NC as flight surgeon for VMA(AW)-332, VMAQ-3, SOES and later as Group Surgeon, MWSG-27. Multiple deployments included a six-month period at the MCAS Iwakuni, Japan with the “Moondogs” VMAQ-3. 76
